MAC It's A Strike!
MAC It’s A Strike!

Every now and again, MAC throws us a curve ball (or in this case, a bowling ball) that leaves us scratching our heads. This collection is predominantly built of products that were used backstage in around March time for the Autumn Winter 16 fashion collection shows which is why the colours are mostly green and deep reds and russets. For some reason, my camera doesn’t like that green (nor do I) and wants it yellow but I wanted you to see the colours used in the official imagery for the collection.

Here is is looking more comfortable as it should be! It’s a kind of limey green that looks hard to wear, but in combination with the rest of the colours it does fit. What I can’t make fit is the idea of bowling as a theme to draw the collection together. I really don’t get it! I love a compact with product detailing but not really this one because bowling has literally no place in my life – MAC could have shoved leaves on this and made it more relevant.

These two though! Sometimes with product samples, you get the working name rather than the retail name, so on my packaging the Lipglass is called Perfect Frame, but I think, from the descriptions on my release, it’s retail name will be Spare Me. The matte Eye Shadow is 300 Game (in the lime green, it’s Bowlarama). I cannot wait to get this on my eyes!

I’m actually going to try it with the lime – why not?

These are Throw A Spare Lipglass (fuchsia with pearl) and a deep matte, red shade called Perfect Score.

From bottom to top: Perfect Frame, Throw A Spare and Perfect Score.

I haven’t swatched the Pearlmatte Face Powder in Trophy – there’s really nothing much to see but I can say that the green detail doesn’t give you Shrek face. MAC It’s A Strike! is a limited collection and launches in September.
