Darling Naturals Company: Darling Baby Shampoo/Body Wash Review

Katie received free product for review purposes. Change-Diapers was not otherwise compensated for this post and all opinions are Katie’s. There are so many things to think about when you have a baby. When I had my first son, I assumed the mainstream shampoo would work fine for our boy. I mean, when they’re babies, they don’t have much hair anyway so I didn’t think that hard about it. However, when my kiddo got older and then eventually having our second son, I realized the mainstream shampoos weren’t really doing what we wanted them to.

We’ve tried a few different kinds of natural/organic shampoos. I found one out of those that I really liked. Recently we’ve tried one that I thought was supposed to be good but the smell was awful and it didn’t leave their hair soft. Which meant I needed to get the conditioner (from the same brand) and if you have kiddos who don’t enjoy their hair being washed, you get my pain. It also didn’t suds up enough to use as body wash as well, which was frustrating. So when Darling Naturals Company contacted us for a review, I jumped on the opportunity to try out their shampoo!

Darling Naturals products are all cruelty-free and vegan which I know is important to a lot of people. Their promise is that products are made with Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust to care for the most sensitive skin on earth. (I mean, how cute it that?!)

Faith: It is in good faith that we take every measure to treat Mother Nature as well as she has treated us; from our recyclable and compostable packaging, to our earth-friendly ingredients.
Trust: You can trust the ingredients in all our products to be gentle, natural, non-toxic and vegan. We are a friend to the bees and never, ever test on animals.
Pixie Dust: The use of herbs and botanicals for their medicinal purposes was once considered magic. Today, we sprinkle ‘pixie dust’ in all our products to soothe, heal and calm the skin.”

The Darling Baby hair & body wash is not only natural, it’s also non-toxic and sulfate free. It’s made with emollient and gentle organic aloe vera along with soothing calendula, chamomile and anti-oxidant olive oil. It’s sure to bathe your little one’s delicate skin and hair in luxurious, natural moisture. It’s delicately and naturally fragranced.

When I first opened it, I noticed a nice gentle scent to it. Nothing too overwhelming, but still a nice fragrance. The real test of course, would be how it performs during bath time. I had my husband try it out as well so I could get his opinion on how he thought it did. The first few times I let him try it out since he typically does bath time more than I do. We both agreed that the scent was much better than what we had been currently using without being too overwhelming. When we used it on their hair, I could tell it was going to suds up enough to be used as body wash as well. Which is really important to us. We don’t want to have to buy two different products for bath time. I waited a while for their hair to dry and noticed that this shampoo really made their hair soft as well as gave it a gentle clean smell. After several uses, we added this to the short list of shampoo/body wash that we think works well with our boys. Our older son has sensitive skin and has eczema that some body washes can irritate and make worse. The Darling Baby was gentle enough for his sensitive skin, though.

You can find this body wash/shampoo along with lots of other products on their website. You can find the “Our Brands” tab at the top of the page and look through their different products. They have some belly balm, nipple salve, dry shampoo, face wash and diaper cream. So head over and check out all the awesome stuff!
