An economist with American Farm Bureau says Britain’s exit from the European Union could have negative consequences for U.S. agriculture.

Veronica Nigh says the T-TIP trade agreement could be one of the casualties of the Brexit vote.

“It was a tough negotiation to begin with—and this certainly complicates it even further,” Nigh says.

And Nigh thinks Brexit’s impact will be even broader than just the T-TIP agreement. She points out that the Britain tended to be a more moderate voice on science and technology than the rest of the EU.

“Without their presence in the EU, that allows those voices who are less science-based to have an even larger voice,” she says.

Nigh spoke with Brownfield at the Iowa Farm Bureau Economic Summit in West Des Moines, Iowa.

  • WRONG…….totally wrong. The bloated, special interest trade bill/agreement is bad for America………bad for agriculture and only good for the elite globalists.
