Wheat export inspections up on year

The USDA reports wheat export inspections are ahead of last marketing year’s pace.

Wheat came out at 511,701 tons, down 60,023 from the week ending June 16th, but up 151,109 from the week ending June 25th, 2015. Early in the 2016/17 marketing year, wheat inspections are 1,704,580 tons, compared to 1,239,638 towards the outset of 2015/16.

Corn was reported at 1,451,227 tons, 216,157 higher than the previous week and 409,840 more than this time last year. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, corn inspections are 33,875,356 tons, compared to 35,928,039 in 2014/15.

Soybeans were pegged at 272,066 tons, 43,316 lower than the week before and 24,794 less than a year ago. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 44,248,867 tons, compared to 47,886,763 last year.

Sorghum totaled 119,550 tons. That’s a jump of 106,148 tons on the week and up 16,222 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 7,487,350 tons, compared to 7,530,167 in 2014/15.
