Elemis Superfood Facial Oil
Elemis Superfood Facial Oil

Elemis is really knocking it out of the park on new products lately. I’m really a sucker for a good facial oil as you’ll know if you’re a regular reader and I’m all over this one for the fatty acid content.

Apart from blitzing up a smoothie from time to time (with a tiny splash of kale because I feel like I have to!) superfoods aren’t really a conscious decision for me – I’m naturally a fruit and veg person (but hate salad) and was a bit of sceptic when the trend has been translated to beauty. But, the Superfood Facial Oil makes sense – wait til you see the ingredient line up!

It contains Broccoli Seed Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Poppy Seed Oil, Cucumber Seed Oil, Macadamia Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Daikon Radish Seed Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil. I’m sure you are familiar with a number of these ingredients, but I’m sure it’s the first time I’ve come across Daikon Radish Seed Oil or Cucumber Seed Oil, so I can explain a bit more about them.

Daikon Radish Seed Oil is used to give a beautiful, silky slip to the oil – I think we’re over heavy feeling oils and certainly the Elemis Superfood Facial Oil literally glides over the skin, but importantly, allows the other ingredients to work effectively. As far as Cucumber Seed Oil goes, that’s full of Omega-6, fatty acids, and vitamins B1 and C. Broccoli Seed Oil contains a boost of vitamin C, which we know to be an effective skin brightener.

The mineral line-up, with Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc, Vitamin A and E, it’s also pretty impressive. If you’re wondering what skin type will benefit from this super-infusion, it’s best for tired and dull looking skin to rev it up and bring back the glow.

I’m quite surprised at the price, too – £45 does not seem unreasonable against other complexion oils. Q VC has this as an exclusive – it doesn’t launch until September otherwise, and there’s a free postage offer. Oh, but it’s £31.80 at the moment HERE.

You might prefer to wait until more reviews come out – I have tested this at top line level only but I can’t complain about the light texture, the hydration feel or the scent which is a very light floral.  You’d never know from the feel and scent that it’s full of broccoli! I think if you’re looking for a summer weight facial oil that will ‘feed’ skin with omegas and fatty acids, you won’t be disappointed with this one.
