Job Description

Job Title: National Coordinator

Job Summary

•   The National Coordinator will have the opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring a successful running of the coalition in order to change attitudes and practices and influence policies at local, National and International levels towards ensuring good quality enjoyable and equitable pre-tertiary education for all Ghanaian children.

Key Responsibilities:

The National Coordinator will:

•   Direct the day-to-day activities and operations of GNECC
•   Facilitate the empowerment of Coalition members in their advocacy work
•   Represent the Coalition at National, Regional and International platforms
•   Ensure the availability of funds for the Coalition’s campaign activities
•   Position GNECC as a leading advocate on Education in Ghana
•   Manage the database of information and programmes relevant for advocacy at national and international levels
•   Promote dialogue and interface among civil society, local government, national and international government institutions on educational matters
•   Ensure regular dissemination of information across the network
•   Undertake all other responsibilities and duties as stipulated in the Coalition’s Constitution
•   Perform such duties as will be assigned by the Executive Council from time to time

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of Master’s Degree in Education or related field
•   At least 5 years relevant experience in Senior Management Position
•   Experience in implementing education programmes / interventions in Ghana
•   Should be skilled in facilitation, coordination, report writing and training
•   Experience working with education stakeholders in Ghana is a plus
•   Strong understanding of Ghana’s Education Sector
•   Ability to coordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously and interact / liaise effectively with a diverse group of people (National and International)
•   Fluency in English language
•   Capacity to develop working relationship with relevant institutions / stakeholders
