The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette Review

Budget friendly fragrance is so, so hit and miss, and normally the latter if we are being entirely honest. The problem seems to be that the more affordable fragrances are either sickly sweet and aimed at pre-teens or reek heavily of alcohol; there seems to be no real middle ground. Typically I do gravitate towards more expensive eau de toilettes and eau de parfum's because I know what to expect and do feel that when I spend more, I get more. However for every rule there is an exception and for the world of discounted fragrance that happens to be The Body Shop, notably the new The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette.

Now this is not a criticism as I personally more than enjoy coconut and general beach-y inspired scents, be it tropical and fruity, or milky like a sunscreen, but they are the norm and almost expected come the first sign of sunshine. What is often ignored is bright, exotic and warm floral scents - fragrances that are reminiscent of a walk around a warm location at night, with a soft breeze trailing the aroma of any night time blossoms and a general carefree attitude. Admittedly this is not the easiest thing to bottle but The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette has seemingly managed the impossible.

The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette is perhaps best described as a bold, and all together green-come-sharp floral scent - this is not your usual, gentle summer fragrance launch, this has a lot of body and will stick around for hours after application. Weirdly The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette does contain fruity and soft notes such as bergamot, orange, coconut and vanilla but they are not at all prominent, even on the dry down. Rather the real stars of this fragrance show is the floral notes of tiare flower, frangipani and ylang ylang.

It's green, it's floral, it's fresh, it has plenty of staying power and it is a different spin on the typical Summer ready fragrance - you need to try The Body Shop Polynesian Island Tiare Eau de Toilette, especially if all you do is dream of going on a tropical getaway...I mean don't we all?
