The Lions moved quickly to replace both of the scouts they dismissed this week.

In addition to hiring Jay Muraco as an area scout, the Lions named Steven Neal their BLESTO scout. The team also promoted Alan Anderson from BLESTO scout to area scout.

The Lions are among 12 NFL teams affiliated with the BLESTO scouting service.

Shortly after the draft, the Lions let go of regional scouts Chad Henry and Darren Anderson, but they’ve already filled those two positions.

Business staff

The Lions added another member to their reshaped business staff, hiring Jay Colvin as senior vice president of legal affairs and general counsel.

Colvin joins the Lions after working for Bodman PLC, a law firm with its office at Ford Field. Colvin has assisted the Lions in legal matters in the past, but now he’ll be working for the team full time.

Colvin’s hiring is an addition to the business staff. Jon Dykema remains general counsel within football administration.
