  1. Such a great list! The Forgetting Time was incredible- hunt for her author interview on my site. She was amazing!! Loved When Breath Becomes Air & The Stories Life of A.J. Fikry, & Everything I Never Told You (she’s on the site too- it was soooo good!!). I am definitely going to have to check out Delicious! I haven’t read the audiobook you are mentioning. I have a hard time making the commitment to long audiobooks especially with fiction. I think I space out too much 🙂 I can’t wait to hear what you think of that one!

  2. I listened to your podcast with Anne, and let me just say, based on the kind of books you like, you’re going to really enjoy The Invention of Wings. 😉 I can’t remember if that’s one Anne recommended to you, but it’s a beautifully written and in-depth historical fiction.
    Happy Reading!

  3. I think you will love At The Corner of Bitter and Sweet and Invention of Wings. I’ve added a few of your April reads to my to-read list!

  4. Seriously, always love your book recommendations! When you suggest a book, it immediately goes on my Amazon wish list!

  5. Loved your post about how you select what to read next – and your podcast with Anne! Based on those recommendations I’ve read The Forgetting Time and The Kitchen House in the past week (letting lots of household chores slide while I did so 🙂 Both were excellent! It took me a long time after finishing university, to read for pleasure again – and even longer to find novels/fiction that I enjoy – so it’s great to get your recommendations!
It’s not a new book, but I think you’d enjoy The Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards, if you haven’t already read it. And a quirky read you might like, Just Shy of Harmony by Philip Gulley (about the town of Harmony and its Quaker minister…actually I think your husband might enjoy that one too – lots of tongue in cheek biblical humour 🙂

  6. I loved the Storied Life of AJ Fikry! I haven’t read any of the rest, but will have to add a few to my list!

April was a heavy fiction month for me – I started, and got completely sucked into – the Outlander series. I’ve also got my full reading list in my link.

    1. I would love Outlander I think, but I am just not sure I want to commit to reading such a long book!! The show is my favorite right now.

  7. Some great books on your to read list – I have read At the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, A Flight of Dreams and the Invention of Wings. All great historical fiction pieces. I would also recommend any of Kristina McMorris’ books.

  8. I just finished reading and really enjoyed “Be Frank with Me”. I just happened to pluck it off the library shelf and I truly loved it. Worthy of a share with many, for sure.

I read, “At the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” a couple of years ago and it quickly became my most recommended book. It’s a lovely story. I would suggest moving it up to the top of your ‘to read’ list. 🙂

  9. Loved, loved, loved Everything I never told you AND When Breath Becomes Air.
    The latter — WOW.
In April I read: Outlander #2 & 3, A Man Called Ove, & Jane Steele.

  10. The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman is a fabulous read. The story travels back and forth between the present day and the past as it uncovers the story of the garden. I’d also recommend All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and The Chrysalis by Heather Terrell.
