American Farm Bureau Entrepreneurship Challenge accepting applications

The American Farm Bureau is taking applications for its third Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge Monday, coinciding with National Small Business Week.

Entrepreneurs compete for $145,000 in start-up funds, showcasing ideas and business innovations that will benefit rural America.  It’s the first national rural business challenge to focus exclusively on innovative entrepreneurs working on food and ag businesses.

Competitors are to submit for-profit business ideas related to food and agriculture online.  Applications should include a business plan, video pitch, and photo, and have to be submitted online by June 30.

The top ten teams will be announced in October, and the final four will compete live at the Farm Bureau Annual Convention in Phoenix next January.
