El Monocromo designed this beer label for one of their favorite restaurants in Bogotá, Salvo Patria. The APA, or American Pale Ale, is a special beer that gets its unique flavor from being brewed with smoked chilis.

“The label is based on the whole visual identity system designed for Salvo Patria, a project focused on exploring relationships between manual and slow processes, raw materials, and the local history of the locality of Chapinero. The design is inspired by vintage Colombian postcard stamps and prints found in the house during its restoration.”

Cerveza de la Casa is bottled in a traditional beer bottle with a fire engine red bottle cap that adds a bit of a modern feel. The beer name and restaurant name, Salvo Patria, appear on the front of the label, overlapping in forest green and blood red. Using postcard inspiration, the label has a scalloped edge that resembles a stamp. A detailed illustration appears on part of the label, with small pops of yellow from the chilis that indicate the powerful flavor of the beer.
