Monthly Motif Challenge {January Killed It}

2016 Monthly Motif Reading ChallengeOne month down on the Monthly Motif Challenge and boy was it a great start! The theme was “WhoDunnit” so here’s a little look at why January “killed” it.What We Read …

The Girl on the Train, Paula Hawkins

The Girl on the Train

Kim – This book is described as a psychological thriller and that’s exactly what it is. The story involves the intertwining lives of three women and the story is told from the point of view of mostly one of them. This chick was crazy. I was honestly wondering what the hell she was doing at times. The story slowly unravels to reveal the killer and I truly didn’t see it coming.

Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike #3), Robert Galbraith

Career of Evil (book by Robert Galbraith)

Tanya – The 3rd book in the JK Rowling series (who is writing as Robert Galbraith) did not disappoint. I liked this one better than book #2, The Silkworm, and just as much as the first one, The Cuckoo’s Calling. We saw much more of Cormoran’s assistant, Robin – and I loved it! He’s as surly a detective as ever, and the encroaching private life of Robin, and his reaction to it, was a thrill to watch unfold. I will definitely be continuing with this series.

Our Favorite Review From You

We loved Tasia’s round up of 5 Up All Night Mysteries. She links to her reviews for each book but the fun part is that she also wrote up a 6 Degrees of Separation, inspired by WhoDoneDidIt? #6BookishDegreesofSeparation!

There are many series with more than 20 books in them – I don’t know if I would have the patience to keep reading book after book not knowing when it will end! Books and Needlepoint read Brotherhood in Death by J.D. Robb which is book #42 in that series and The Greedy Reader read Blood Of An Englishman which is book #25.

Thanks to all those who participated! February’s theme is New Releases.
