New definition of “weed”
The Weed Science Society of America has updated educational materials and their definition of “weed.”
The organization now defines a weed as “a plant that causes economic losses or ecological damage, creates health problems for humans or animals, or is undesirable where it is growing.”
Other new resources from the Society can help farmers with noxious weeds, invasive weeds and superweeds. More information can be found here.
