Sorghum inspections stay ahead of year ago pace

The USDA reports that as of the week ending February 4th, 2015/16 sorghum inspections remain ahead of the 2014/15 marketing year’s pace.

Wheat came out at 398,216 tons, up 113,408 from the week ending January 28th and 310 higher than the week ending February 2nd, 2015. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 13,766,678 tons, compared to 15,583,747 in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 438,560 tons, down 288,258 from the previous week and 262,829 lower than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 12,401,234 tons, compared to 15,667,258 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 1,172,661 tons, 23,725 less than the week before and 313,662 below last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 33,998,313 tons, compared to 38,956,071 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 238,515 tons. That’s an increase of 68,627 tons on the week and 66,964 on the year. 2015/16 sorghum inspections are 4,654,494 tons, compared to 4,017,450 in 2014/15.
