Villwock calls the stump ‘refreshing’

DSCN1016The American Farm Bureau’s closing item of business is to choose its next president.  As elections go, the one to decide the next leader of the nation’s largest general farm organization is one of the friendlier contests.  There’s no evident public sniping among the four candidates, although each makes clear their desire to win.  Farm Bureau staff flatly states that they’re glad to work with whomever gets the job.  When the convention ends Tuesday, either Keven Rogers of Arizona, Barry Bushue of Oregon, Zippy Duvall of Georgia, or Don Villwock of Indiana will lead the nation’s largest general farm organization.

Villwock tells Brownfield he’s put on many miles, but it’s improved his outlook.

“Really, it’s been refreshing for me,” Villwock tells Brownfield Ag News.  “It just reenergizes your battery about how passionate our members are and how much they care about agriculture and this country.”

Following the presidential election, delegates choose a vice-president from among Tom Buchanan of Oklahoma, John Hoblick of Florida, Dean Norton of New York, and Scott VanderWal of South Dakota.
