China reportedly to move and review biotech

Programs ICONChina reportedly has agreed to move and review 11 ag biotech events that are pending approval. U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S Ambassador to China Max Baucus participated in the just completed US-China Joint Committee on Commerce and Trade.

According to Feedstuffs, Vilsack said he hopes that China will take action on those during the next one to two months. China is the top export market for U.S. soybeans and a major export market for U.S. corn and corn products.

In addition, the report quotes Vilsack saying the two nations continued their talks on access for U.S. beef.

Both goals were part of the Strategic Agricultural Innovation Dialogue between the U.S. and China in September.
