Fall Arrangement in Green and White

Decorate for fall with this arrangement in green and white. This green display works in all seasons. Grouping accessories together that have a common theme or color is an easy way to decorate a corner in your living room. I love this example of how to arrange decorative vases.

Today it is back to the important business of living room staging and fluffing. I went green and white again. Seems to be a theme for grouping accessories into vignette displays these days. I did it last year with a fall decoration with green vintage bottles and with a fall mantel in tones of green

A new find at the thrift store was the jump-off point for this little green decor. I found that green medicine jar and thought it looked pretty cool. I love it when I can decorate with vintage items like that.

So often, a ‘new’ old find will inspire me to create a new little decorative vignette. I remember an old mustard jar fall being the inspiration for an easy fall decoration with hydrangeas; the time when a vintage breadboard and a grain sack became the basis for fall table decor with pumpkins; and, of course, the set of vintage breadboards that were part of the layering of my farmhouse fall mantel decor.

So with that vintage green medicine jar spurring me on for a little decorating, I went flower shopping.

At the flower store, nothing jumped out at me except for the green grassy leaves and berries. So I went with lots more green. A couple of white flowers from the shop and the last white ones from the garden completed the look white and green look of the fall arrangement.

Sometimes decorating just sort of happens…..

….. I like it when it happens that way.

Simple fall decorating is my thing after all…

So how do you all handle the business of life? Are you like me and sort of fall still and lifeless in between the bouts of frantic hustling? Or do you carefully manage your energy and recharge while doing something totally different? I am and feel very busy, but somehow I have found the time to rewatch the entire series of The Mentalist on Netflix in the past month. Btw, I have never drunk so much tea as when I was watching Patrick walk around with his permanent cup of tea, it totally worked up a thirst in me.

Anyway, I do know that when I am so busy in my head with everything that is going on, and that needs attention, I need time to just ‘zone out’  and watch something entertaining on the telly that always has the problem neatly wrapped up with a bow after 45 minutes, but still… Wouldn’t it be nice if I could rest while wielding a paintbrush?

I’d love to hear how you all manage the craziness of life and how you all juggle the plates in your life.

But at least there are always flowers…

They do not rush. They take their time, they bloom when it is right for them, and when they are done blooming, they are simply done blooming.

There are always flowers…..

To remind me of the beauty in life that is free and abundant. They make me stop in my tracks and smell the roses. They make me pause and just be for a moment, be in the moment.

There are always flowers……

And there is the color green. Cool, calm, and collected. Not demanding attention but just there. The perfect backdrop. The perfect companion. Green might be an odd choice for a fall decorating color. After all, in nature, the green is fading and replaced with the wild and loud colors of red, yellow, and orange. But inside green just works for me in fall.

I had that same feeling when an impromptu dinner party led to a table setting in green and white, and it felt relaxing and sophisticated at the same time.

As does a white-painted fake pumpkin and some pine cones. Ah, pinecones. There have to be pinecones

We’ll see where the craziness takes me next. But no matter what, there will always be the next little vignette, the next little decorating corner. And most of all, there always will be flowers……

  2. Arme Marianne, nu ben jij ook al druk, druk, druk. Heel veel groetjes van down under, waar de lente begint.

  3. I enjoy your blog very much. I live on the other side of the pond from you in Missouri. Pretty much dead center
of the U.S.A. I have wanted to start a blog but the time involved seems too much at this time of my life. Perhaps
one day down the road. Don’t stress yourself out to constantly put up new posts, go at your pace. Quality is
better than quantity. Enjoy your week at work.
