Building demand
Perhaps the biggest story in the dairy industry is the increase in consumption. Cheese, butter and other dairy products have become favorites across the country. Much of that increase can be credited to the work of the dairy checkoff. Connie Seefeldt of Coleman is president of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, she says the partnerships with companies like McDonalds and Culvers, research which proves the health and nutritional value of dairy products and efforts like Fuel-Up to Play 60 have built the demand for dairy.
