Allen Park — The Lions announced their last three transactions to reduce the roster to 75 players in advance of today's 4 p.m. deadline.

By 2 p.m., the Lions waived tight end Jacob Maxwell, wide receiver Andrew Peacock and linebacker Justin Cherocci.

Nine other players, including wide receiver Ryan Broyles, received the bad news Monday that their chance with the Lions ended.

"It's never a great day because we have to release some good players and good people that have worked extremely hard throughout the spring and fell a little bit short of where they would like to in terms of their expectations," coach Jim Caldwell said. "But, I don't think it's the end of the road for the great majority of them."

Peacock spent his rookie year on the Lions' practice squad after going undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2014. Cherocci went undrafted out of Central Michigan this year.
