For ages and ages, I’ve wanted a serum blush. I think there probably are a few knocking around but nothing that’s really taken my fancy, so I decided to make my own. I used Benefit’s Posy Tint and Deciem Hylamide to create a serum blush/tint hybrid and it worked really well.
There is really nothing to it – I used 3 pipette’s worth of Hyalmide and then just splodged over some Benetint until I got what I felt to be the right amount. After swatching it on my arm a few times and adding more tint, I got it to the colour I wanted.
As you can see, it’s still at the wet stage here – but it dries down really quickly just leaving the tint visible on the cheeks. Cheeks can be quite sun-catchy and often a little dry because of that – I just thought it was a good way to add in some extra hydration.

So, now I have my own little pot of serum-blush that gives just a hint of pink to the cheeks. Actually, it’s easier to apply that Benetint on its own I think because it has more slip and you can blend better. You can also layer it. I know there are no genius awards heading my way but I’m quite pleased with this, and if it tells you anything, it’s that you can make textures and colours you want from what’s sitting in your make up bag.

I wonder if I could get this to work with a powder blush. I don’t think I have any liquid blushes presently (I would if Benefit brought back Glamazon!), but this is such a perfect idea that I want to try it. Thanks!
