Here at Good Morning Girls - You Belong

I remember the first day we brought our first baby home –it was over twelve years ago.

To enter our house there were 4 steps and as I stepped up onto the first step I fell completely flat on my face – my leg gave out.

Luckily, my husband was carrying the baby.

But I said to him – “something is wrong with my leg, it is numb and I can’t bear my weight on it”.

It had been numb in the hospital for 2 days (I thought the epidural was still wearing off) but I didn’t realize how weak it was.

Alex baby at Christmas

In days to come, I would learn through a visit with the neurologist that I had injured my leg during my delivery. The synapses in the nerve that told my brain to tell my muscles to work had lost connection and now my body wasn’t functioning quite right.

If you’ve had health problems, you know how frustrating it is when a part of your body isn’t doing what it should -when a part of your body shuts down or clogs up or deteriorates.

In Romans 12:5 it says,

In Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

In Christ we are one body.

You belong to me and I belong to you – each member belongs to all the others…

You belong – God’s word says it.

We are connected to one another because “we who are many are one body“.

Do you feel connected to the body of Christ –  the church?

Or do you feel like my leg?  When you are around Christians — there’s a disconnect.

Fall is here and it’s a great time to get involved in Women’s Bible Studies and fall groups that take place within your local church body.

I want to encourage you to look for ways to connect and be brave – get involved.

I want to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and lead!

Start a group for moms, singles, new wives, divorced women, homeschool moms, preschool moms, empty nesters or widows!  Take the initiative.

Here at Good Morning Girls we provide all the resources you need to lead a Women’s Bible Study Group!

You can start a Good Morning Girls group that meets for coffee in real life every week or you can start a group that meets daily on-line.  You can use Facebook Groups, email, text messaging and more to connect!

You Belong!

We regroup here at GMG 3 times a year – summer, fall and winter.

You DO NOT have to have a group to join our on-line Bible study.  There are no sign-ups, enrollments or subscriptions required to join us.  No hoops!

I can be your accountability partner every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday here on the blog if you’d rather not be in a group.

But we love community here at GMG.

  1. GMG is just such a wonderful ministry to be a part of. Not only does one begin to grow closer to Christ themselves but it just spills over to the whole entire family.

    1. Bridget,

I’m SO thankful you are a part of GMG and for the way you are opening your home this session to do GMG in real life!!!

      I appreciate you!!!
      Courtney

  2. This bible study format has been life changing for me! So simple. Just me and the bible and great girls to connect with for accountability! Thanks for making it so easy and free Courtney! Appreciate you so much!

    1. Mary,

Yes! Just you and your Bible – and some accountability! It’s all I need too – I’m SO thankful for this community and for you!!!
      Courtney

  3. I have never gone this far with a read through the bible plan. I have started several different ones, but I always fizzle out after a couple of weeks or a month. I did miss a few weeks, but have caught up during this little break. I think leading a group has helped me to stay on task as well as the one chapter a day. I have been trying to log into the leaders portal, but it will not accept the password. Thank you for all of the wonderful guidance and work you ladies do to keep us all in God’s Word each and every day!

    1. Khris,

I’m SO glad to hear that the study is working for you and that you are leading a group! That is wonderful. I just fixed the password – the word LEADER in all caps should work now. Let me know if it’s still not working for you.

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

      1. It still is not working for me. My leader helper got in ok, but mine is not working 🙁 I am assuming when I type in the password that it will take me to a new page? I tried restarting my computer and even tried using my phone. Not sure what is going on. I did get an error 429 too many tries on my computer. Sorry for the trouble.

Wanted to let you know, I absolutely LOVE the new “My Bible Reading Plan” check off sheet! Great job to whoever designed it!

  4. I’m new to good morning girls but so excited to start! I was looking for a group for missionaries, but didn’t find it so I joined a pastor’s wives group instead. But if I have somehow missed it, could someone let me know? ? haha thank you for all your hard work in this ministry! What a blessing it is! ??

  5. I stand in awe at the amazing work God is doing through this ministry! It is always an exciting time when we regroup and we get to see the number of women who are thirsting for God’s Word. Thank you Courtney and the wonderful Leadership Team for all of the hard work you do in planting the fields. The Lord must be pleased to nurture the harvest!

    Love you ladies!

  6. My ACTS Journal arrives today! Can’t wait to get started again!

I needed some peace in my home so I already pulled out my Yankee Candle & started burning it yesterday as I prayed over my household. Felt the need to start your fall challenge early 😉

    1. Hooray!

So glad it’s arrived and you are joining us again Kelly! And eeeeeek – cannot wait for the fall challenge to begin too! So much fun in the fall!

      Love ya,
      Courtney

  7. My FB group has been counting down for this Acts study! We are all very excited to get started. I am so thankful for the resources that GMG provides for all of us! =) My small group loves the bookmark reading plan to check off personal progress. Personally, the SOAK method has taught me about focus and understanding the Bible more than I ever have…….I am so enthusiastic for all the new Leaders and members of this community to experience the same thing!

    1. Jody – I LOVE your enthusiasm – it matches mine! I cannot WAIT to begin too. This break felt long. I am ready to do this!!!

See you here next Monday – woohoo!
      Courtney 🙂

  8. I was wondering is there a group for moms with young children? I saw homeschooling (but my kids are 1 & 3). I’ve never done a group.

    1. Welcome Amy!

I’m sorry we do not have a group for moms of young children available. Our groups are already filling up this morning and closing and being removed from the document so either it’s full or there was not one available at the start.

If you really want one for young moms and you have 2-5 young mom friends, I encourage you to take the lead – join our Leaders Facebook Group and start your own group! If that is not the way the Lord is leading you – then you may want to jump into one of the groups open for all. The ladies there will encourage you!!!

Praying you find the perfect group for you!
      Courtney

    2. Hi Amy..at the moment there is no group that is specifically for moms of young kids but there are several open to all groups. Did you want an email or Facebook group? If you hurry you may still get into one of these, but they are filling up pretty fast.

  9. I want to lead a GMG small group, but I do not have Facebook (due to my husband’s career in law enforcement), and I didn’t see any other way to access the resources for leaders.

    1. Welcome Cheyenne!!

I’m so thankful you are willing to lead! I just emailed you the GMG Leader’s Manual. If you did not receive it – let me know!!
      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

  10. This is also the longest I have stayed with a read through the Bible plan as well. The one chapter really works for me.

The read through in one year just did not work for me. I did not get much out of trying to read 3 or more chapters a day. I want to stop and think and cross reference and take notes. By the time I did that on 3-4 chapters, it took too long. So, I would either get way behind because I only got through one chapter, or I was running out of time to spend on numerous chapters. So, this has been great.

Also, I love sharing what I am learning with the other ladies and reading their insights as well. Thanks for being faithful to God in leading this Courtney. God is really doing a great work through this ministry.

    1. TBG – yay! I’m so glad it is working for you!

Also, I have appreciated all the feedback you have given in the comments. They always encourage me to read.

Thank you and lots of Love,
      Courtney

  11. Hi Courtney,
I lead a small group year round, and am always looking for ways to grow and learn how to be a better leader. I am not on Facebook, for various reasons, but I too would like to know how to access your leadership resources without joining up on Facebook. Could you please let me know?
Thanks so much. I started GMG in January of 2015 looking for a way to be held accountable in my daily reading. I have been so richly blessed by the work God has been doing through. Thank you.
    Miriam

    1. Hi Miriam!

I just sent you the GMG Leader’s Manual via email! Let me know if you did not receive it! (it’s a large file so it may take a moment to come through).

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

    1. Hi Katie – yes – we have had groups for blended families in the past but those are now full. I apologize.

I encourage you to join one of the others or start your own! We are always looking for new leaders! 😉

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

      1. Is there a specific curriculum that you would use for a blended family group?? I would be interested in possibly starting a group. Any info you could provide would be great:)

        1. Katie,

All of the groups study alongside our Bible Study here – so we’ll be studying the Book of Acts one chapter a day. One benefit of having a group where everyone is in a similar season of life is – as you share about your devotions and your prayer requests – you are able to understand each other’s trials and help each other.

All of the groups close this Monday – if you are interested in starting one – please visit the leader’s page above and join our Leader’s Facebook Group to find everything you need to lead! Once you create the group – let us know so we can add you to the document above.

Praying God guides you as you decide.
          Much Love,
          Courtney

  12. Hi Courtney,
I have been doing the studies since 2012. Although I do not post on here, I wanted you to know that I read every post that you make!! I just want to encourage you as well and let you know that I know there are many out there like me who may not post, but are truly blessed by everything you are doing!! May God Bless You and thank you again!!!

  13. Is there a Facebook group for new moms? I didn’t see one listed on the doc that is posted. I’d be willing to help get one up and running if there isn’t one existing already and fellow moms want one.
    Thanks!

    1. Marianne – we had one but it is now full and closed! If you are willing to start one that would be AWESOME!

Please join our GMG Leaders Facebook group and inside that group you will find a thread by Bridget where she is accepting information of open groups and adding them to this document on this blog post.

This document will remain up through next Monday – and we have already closed a bunch of groups and asked leaders to make more room for more -and it’s happening but those will fill quickly too so we’d LOVE to have you as a leader with an open group!

      Thank you!
      Courtney

      1. Hi there, thank you for this site. Do you offer any leadership manuals for non Facebook users? I am having a few women through text that we will be doing GMG (since I am not in Facebook). Thank you for what you are doing!
        Amanda

  14. I was interested in checking out the leadership info and possibly starting a group with a few other ladies from my church. I am having trouble getting the password to let me in as well.

  15. I’ve been looking for ways to make my Blog more ministry oriented, and find ways to help people grow closer to God, instead of just being a place for my opinion to be heard. Good Morning Girls seems like a perfect resource for me! I’m not sure where to begin, I’d love some advice, as a blogger, how I can implement these studies and lead a Good Morning Group on my Blog. Also where and how shall I link back? Do I need to put up some buttons in my sidebar? Where do I look up resources that I need? (I’m going to be clicking all over the site today, so I might find some of these answers, but advice on how to get started would be helpful!)

    1. Hi Joy,

I invite you as a blogger to read through the Book of Acts with us – one chapter a day – and then write at least once a week a devotional or something you learned during your personal Bible Study time. At the end of that post – just mention that you are studying along side GoodMorningGirls.org – with a link back here. Then, every Wednesday at the end of my blog post there will be a place for you to link-up your blog post here. All of the resources you need are in this blog post and there will be new resources every single Monday on the blog for that week’s Bible Study. You do not have to put it on your sidebar – just in the blog posts that are GMG Blog posts.

      Hope this helps!

      Much Love,
      Courtney

      1. Thanks! I believe I will do that! I’ve also joined the leader group and am working on getting a facebook group up! 🙂 I’ve never led anything before, but I’m excited to try! 😀 I love the resources I’m finding here and am excited to share about them on my blog! 😀
Question: I have an amazon affiliate account, can I link to the resources you show from amazon through my affiliate account on my blog?
I was already thinking about doing a blog series on how to study the bible, and now I’ve found Good Morning Girls and I’m just dazzled by the ideas I’m getting here! Thank you so much for this resource!

  16. Hi Courtney,

I don’t seem to be able to get into the leaders page..also is it a must to have the group on the Internet…

    1. Hi Edna,

You can use text messaging or email to run a GMG group if you prefer. And Sher is right – for some reason it’s only accepting lowercase letters.

I’m sorry. Please try the GMG Leader’s Page again and this time use the lowercase password: leader

      Thank you!
      Courtney

  17. my wife just sent me to your site. I am a stay at home dad who is looking for an online group. My church does everything weds nights when I am at work. So online is about the only way to do it. Do you have a connection to a men’s group or do you have men leaders of yours or could I start one. Or can I just tag along in a women’s group. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you

    1. Hi Crystal,

The Good Morning Girls will have a break between our study in the Book of Acts and our study in the Book of Numbers – but yes – the Making Your Home a Haven series will take place in the month of October here on Saturdays! I’ll be announcing that soon – once our Book of Acts study is up and running smoothly. 😉

      Thanks for asking!
      Courtney

  18. Im trying to subscribe & it won’t let me. Everyime i put my email address & click subscribe, its telling me that there’s an error. Is there another way to subscribe? If you can let me know that would be great. Thank you

  19. Hi! I started reading through the Bible with you during Proverbs. This format of reading and the SOAK method are working wonderfully for me. Thank you so much for all you do to help others connect with Christ daily. Please pray for a friend and myself as we begin the book of Acts together via an email group.

    Donna

  20. I would LOVE to connect with other women who are the only believer in their marriage/are the spiritual leader if their families due to non-belief or non-practice/following.

I always feel like the Body doesn’t know quite what to do with me…and I end up hangin’ out with the divorced crowd because they “get” the division/separation in the family unit.
    And.
Although I still am married to my amazing Atheist/Agnostic Hubs, I am a spiritually single.. and in way…a single mom.

If anyone reads this and knows I may fit in their group, say “HOLLahhh!” :))

Otherwise, I’ll get crackin’ on Acts by tagging along!

    ?

    1. Hi Leah –

We used to have a spiritually single group but it is full.

I know there are other women who are struggling in this same way. Perhaps when we regroup in January you could start a group for women in your same position and we can put it on the list of open groups so you can connect with more women who are in this situation? I apologize there is not one open in this area – but I encourage you to try a group on the list to connect and be encouraged.

      Lots of Love,
      Courtney

      1. I would love to pray on that. I feel God pruning me to lead, so we’ll see if He thinks I’m ready by then.
Until January, I will take that into some prayerful consideration.
There for sure is a need for this group of His Body.
Pray for ME that I do the hard work!
        Thank you!

  21. I’m very excited for Monday to get here!! This is going to be such an amazing book to SOAK through! I’ve been following GMG since before “Blogging through the Bible” began, and I am loving my journey with you all so far!

I’ll be praying for each of you as we dive into the book of Acts!!

  22. Hi, Courtny!
I just found your amazing very inspiring blog few weeks ago and very exciting to start learing Acts in few days! You gave us a lot of tip to motivate us, and I would like to share with more more more people! so would you mind that if I use your tips in my videos or blogs?

God bless you and your family : )

    ♡Maki

  23. You are truly a blessing Courtney! Last fall I picked up your book and read it. In January I started a GMG facebook group, although we aren’t alway matching the same chapters you are on we still adore all of your resources! We will be on Acts soon! Thanks for your ministry.

  24. Hello guys, I’m a new parent and I’m desperately to get my two month little one to sleep through the night. At the moment I’m lucky to have four hours sleep a night. Best wishes
