Clean and Simple Peaceful Pines for The Paper Players

IMG_2935It’s Tic-Tac-Toe week at The Paper Players! This is always one of my favorite challenges.   I felt is was a perfect time to work on designing a quick and clean holiday card. Because I wanted a touch of elegance, I went for the gold:  embossing powder, sequins, ribbon, and foil.  I hope you enjoy today’s card!

This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide and 5-1/2″ long when folded.

  • Falling snow! Don’t you love the new Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder? I thought it was the perfect choice for this card, since it truly does look like snow falling down upon the tree tops.

  • A trio of stars! To satisfy the sequin requirement of this challenge, I added a trio of gold star sequins.  As we all know…things look better in threes!

  • Beautiful bow! What better way to top off an elegant card than with a quick and easy double bow created from gold satin ribbon.

Your Recipe for Fun

Stamps:  Peaceful Pines; Inks:  VersaMark; Paper:  Whisper White cardstock, Gold Foil; Tools:  Big Shot, Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Heat Tool,  Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder; Embellishments: Metallic Sequins, Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon

In case you couldn’t tell, I went for the diagonal:  Ribbon, Embossing, Sequins.  In retrospect, I wish I would have placed my top tree in a little different position.  But if I do indeed make this for my holiday card this year,  I’ll have plenty of opportunities to move it around! So, what do you think of today’s card? Won’t you let me know in your comment today? Your comments are important to me…and I do read each and every one! Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

I think the card looks really elegant and would grace any location. I would just move the trees up a smudge to be inside the area of the card but that’s just me. I think they tend to bend over in the post if they are outside the card. I love this card and you have done it really well. Thank you for showing it and if it is okay I might try and case it for my own friends and family greeting. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery they say! Thanks Ann x x
