The Between the Rows Tour is finding yields better than expected in what has been a tough year for farmers.

As the first Michigan crop tour travels the countryside, Angel Jenio with Michigan Corn says the tour’s stop in the center of the state had the widest range of yields.  “In Barry, Ionia and Eaton, the average was 172, but that’s where we saw the most variability across the state.”

The Between the Rows Tour is making eight official stops during August and finding unmarked fields along the way to estimate the state’s average corn yield.
