Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Colours Review

Forget black eye liner - colourful liner and mascaras are everywhere at the moment and rather than being a daunting trend to embrace, it is a subtle way to inject a little colour into your make up routine. Leading the way with both bright and bold mascaras is Benefit, I'll save the scoop on mascaras for later and share my thoughts on the new Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Colours today.

If you are familiar with the original Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner then you will know what to expect in terms of packaging. If not, let me explain: a black plastic, pen style liners which features a twist off cap, a slanted rubber nozzle (which comes complete with a little plug) and a twist up mechanism at the bottom. The Benefit They're Real Push Up Liners are fairly weighted which does aid application. As far as gel liners go, this is a fuss and mess free approach - the little plug helps prevent the contents from drying out. The slim design is ideal for travel and everyday use and as mentioned above the design is not prone to leaks or spills.

The new Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Colours come in four shades: Beyond Green, Beyond Blue, Beyond Brown and Beyond Purple. I did intend on purchasing all for shades but truthfully I wouldn't get enough use out of a purple eye liner to justify the cost. I do however have the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Colours in the shades Beyond Blue and Beyond Green - Beyond Blue is a deep, almost navy blue that beautifully compliments all shades of eyes. Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Colours in Beyond Green is a deep, almost blackened teal green that again suits all eye shades. Rather than being bright, obvious pops of colour both shades are subtle and almost appear black from a distance. They are a great option for anyone who wants to shake up their make up routine without stepping too far out of their comfort zone, or as a colourful day time option.

Gel pen liners such as Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Colours are a fairly new, and dare I say novel idea; the concept is that the silicone tip helps create crisp lines, each and every time by hugging the lash line. I won't pretend for one moment that the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liners don't take a little getting used to, it is very much a case of trial and error. I'm by no means an expert but I have found that applying by holding the pen as close to nib and wiping the gel on the back of the hand before use, can make the process a little easier. I also must stress that you should work fairly quickly as the Benefit formula dries and sets quickly. Annoyingly if you do try and move the product when it is drying it will crumble and flake off which I have found it a little prone to doing during application, for that reason it is not a product I would recommend for easily irritated/sensitised eyes. Crumbling aside the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner formula does stay put rather well, it doesn't run, smudge or smear nor does it give way to my exceedingly oily skin. So much so that it is a nightmare to remove and you will have to recruit the services of your best, oil based eye make up remover to tackle every last scrap.
