Cargill to expand in Mexico

Cargill plans to expand its business in Mexico.  A company official says that in coming years, Cargill plans $170 million in direct investment, providing more than $1 billion in credit to local farmers and purchasing $4-and-a-half billion in Mexican crops.

At the reinauguration of a feed plant in Mexico’s western state of Jalisco, Cargill CEO David MacLennan said that Mexico can play a bigger role in feeding the world.

This is Cargill’s 50th year in Mexico.
