Solid week for soybean, sorghum inspections

The USDA reports soybean export inspections for the week ending July 30th were above what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the current marketing year.

Wheat came out at 298,048 tons, down 151,213 from the week ending July 23rd and 89,508 lower than the week ending July 31st, 2014. For the 2015/16 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 3,122,300 tons, compared to 4,036,376 in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 920,708 tons, 187,573 less than the previous week and 219,838 below a year ago. At this point in the 2014/15 marketing year, corn inspections are 41,114,836 tons, compared to 42,969,590 with around a month to go in 2013/14.

Soybeans were pegged at 148,498 tons, up 26,811 from the week before and 108,631 higher than this time last year. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 48,833,512 tons, compared to 43,050,753 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 236,125 tons. That’s an increase of 76,971 tons on the week and 113,423 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 8,194,128 tons, compared to 4,256,243 in 2013/14.
