As chairman of the Miami-Dade County Historic Preservation Board, I was surprised that your article (Bay Harbor Islands Building Loses Historic Designation, July 2) regarding the appeal of the designation of the Bay Harbor Continental ignored the fact that the National Trust for Historic Preservation placed Bay Harbor Islands East Island on its 2014 list of Most Endangered Places. Additionally, the trust used a photo of the Continental on its website to showcase Bay Harbor Islands exemplary architecture.
