A whole comic! Now that has some possibilities…

Speaking of comics, I just got back from the Stumptown Comics Fest and I’m going to recommend a really good one to you—The Legend of Bold Riley by Leia Weathington. I posted up a mini-review over on my Tumblr account, but the short answer is that if you like what I’m trying to do with my comics, you should get this book. It’s a fun, gripping, well-illustrated, fantasy-action graphic novel with a real three-dimensional heroine who just happens to like girls. I’m serious, you need to go check this out now.

In other news, a bunch of folks have been asking me when the first The Young Protectors book is going to come out and this month I’ve been working on creating a Kickstarter project to do just that. It’s only going to run for a short time, so keep your eye out for it in the next couple weeks. I promise I’ll let you know here when it begins!

Based on the comments on the last page (where many of you formed a similar interpretation of Commander’s shower quip), it seems like y’all just might have a kindred spirit in Spooky.

(Also, I again have to give mad props to both Adam and Vero for their amazing work on these pages. Of course I love how Commander looks in that last panel, but look at Commander in the one before it. The note in my script for her was “If we see her, there’s feisty fire in her eyes, but no real anger. A cat staring down a tasty mouse.” Even with her small in the panel, that’s clearly a “cat staring down a tasty mouse!” Hehe. I am so lucky to be able to work with them )

We have new Fan Art from Reese, an artist who had a chance to meet The Young Protectors‘s penciler Adam at the Roundtable he did last week. And so he decided to paint Kyle in Adam’s image! It’s uncanny! You definitely need to check this out.

As I mentioned on Wednesday, Artifice is now shipping from Amazon so if you’ve been wanting a copy, now’s your chance.

We have new translators: Goethe who has started translating The Young Protectors into Russian and David who is translating Artifice into Italian. Meanwhile, Skaro is on a roll, blasting through translating Artifice into Spanish (Skaro is already up to page 49!)
