Many of the materials used in environmentally-friendly products have terms that are not yet common knowledge. For example if you have a biodegradable item, it has the ability to safely and quickly break down into a raw material that will go back into nature.

Green Products: Products that promote environmental awareness,social awareness,biodegradable and recyclable.

Organic Products:Products or materials created through farming that replenishes soil fertility without the use of persistent pesticides or any use of toxic fertilizers.

Post-Consumer Material/Waste Products: This term is a product that is being reused/recycled after it has gone from the grocery store or your shop to the buyers hand, like water bottles, milk containers,pop bottles.

Post-Industrial Products: This term has to do with products that a manufacturer reuses or recycles throughout the manufacturing process, using scrap or excess material.

Recycled Products: Products that have been separated from the waste stream, and made into a new product. Then sold back to the consumer as a new item.

Sugar Cane Bagasse Products: is the fibrous matter that remains after sugarcane or sorghum stalks are crushed to extract their juice. It is currently used as a biofuel and as a renewable resource in the manufacture of pulp and paper products and building materials. This is Wikipedia’s explanation.

Bag to Nature composting bags are the best I’ve found so far. It’s a mystery to me as to why Biobags are so popular – they’re so incredibly weak and flimsy (but it seems people don’t know that there’s an alternative). They’re cheaper than Biobags too – for a much superior product. I found Bag To Nature bags at Ace Hardware and have been using them for the past few years. They’re surprisingly super stong for a compostable bag and DON’T deteriate as soon as liquid touches them (as Biobags do – can you tell that I got really fed up using biobags? well, at least they’re consistent about sucking). We use the small kitchen Bag To Nature bags and change the bag once a week. The bag is still perfectly strong and intact at the end of the week. Excellent:)

I recycle my pop cans, and my businesses pop cans! Ok, you can take these cans to places like Missouri Metal Recycling, which is where I take my pop cans. I love the place. I don’t make a fortune with this kind of recycling, but they also don’t go into a landfill somewhere waiting to be decomposed. (which by the way wouldn’t happen in my lifetime).

Now as you know if you’ve ever been to any swap meets or flea markets they make those great airplanes out of pop cans. Hey look what I found on the internet just know typing in pop cans!

Great Candy Bouquets

Yesterday I was out planting mums! Don’t you just love this time of the year when the leaves are changing and the colors are so beautiful. I wasn’t planning on planting mums except my neighbor brought me two plants. The renter downstairs borrowed my truck and came to the door with three mums! So now you see how I got roped into planting. They know I love flowers.

Accent the Exterior of your home! Selling your home?

If your home is up for sale and you don’t think that first impression is important, think again! Try accenting the exterior of your home first. Are you Selling your home? I have seen some of those homes that are for sale and when I take a look at the outside of the home..I just drive by! What do you do?

My thoughts are you better clean that up or try and make a way so that people will want to come into your home. Just recently, because I have my home on the market on added a couple of really nice additions to the outside of my home. I added in the front of my house a water feaure, which is a lion head which spews water out into a basin. This is a great feature, adds a great look to the front of my home. I also have solar lighting for the sidewalk, added some new gravel to the flower beds. I have some flowers in bloom. I have some rose bushes and have some other plants that are going to bloom here in the early fall.

I also added in the backyard a smaller water feature which is another fountain. I have it located in a location where I have more rose bushes. This location kind of off sets the Big Swimming pool. I have all types of solar lights that change color at night, which reflect over into the pool area. The thing that I love about the Solar Lighting is that you can move it to different locations to accent what every you want to make beautiful or show off. Different kinds of accents for the exterior of your home really helps sale it. I remember when I bought this home, the original owners had palm trees down by the pool! I loved that. They were not real palm trees even though they looked real, they were made of some fabric. They really did look real.

The outside of your home is just as important for those of you who like to be outside of your home during beautiful weather. to accent the exterior of your home there are a lot of options you can come up with. Solar Lights, Fountains, Water Features,Rock for decorations, Rocks that they make to cover up items. Flowers,plants,Trees,will really help sell your home. If your home needs to be painted and it’s chipping off. Please repaint it. Someone doesn’t want to come in and re-paint your home. Money is tight for everyone so if your interested in selling it, clean up the yard, paint if needed, add some touches like lighting to the outside so if that was you buying the house you know you would love it too.

Ok, sometimes you think that buying that cheap weedeater or any other tool for that matter is the best way to go! Found this to not be the case. I bought this weedeater…you know the kind. You push down on the handle and the plastic wire is suppose to come out! Well, that really doesn’t happen! You end up swearing at the tool. You know ” Screw This Tool!” You spend countless time in taking the blasted thing apart, just getting the plastic wire straightened out again. Then you use it for another couple of minutes and then the plastic disappears again. If you don’t know what “WYSIWYG” is that means “What You See Is What You Get”. As far as I can see when I purchased this wonderful (Bull) weedeater for a cheap price, I thought oh, I only have small projects this will work! Not! You might as well get down on your hands and knees and pull those blasted weeds.

As some of you may know I have my house for sale. What this means for me is that it is imperative that my yard looks good. I will leave you a link below, if you want to view a picture..(just in case you want to relocate..)!

World’s first floating wind turbine was towed out into the North Sea 2009. The 2.3MW Hywind was built by Siemens and is now on stream, according to owners Statoil. A Floating Windmill, am I seeing things or what? Is this just totally awesome?

By 2011 they plan to build a 10MW floating turbine 533 feet tall with a rotor diameter of 475 feet.

Because of the latest BP spill, and how it has hurt our environment, I thought I would give us some positives that are going on in our oceans as well as on land. This BP was a tragic incident, now lets not forget what happened, but let’s consetrate on some good things. Did you watch the video on the Windmill? Very great isn’t it. I wanted to also let you know about a Solar panel that can provide maximum off the grid technology in the event of a natural disaster or emergency, so you can have good clean water at all times.
