We are going to try posting the Walgreens deals for a few weeks to see if you like them & if so, then we will be bringing these as a regular feature each weekend. Let us know if you like shopping at Walgreens and give us your feedback!

Here are a few things to know when shopping at Walgreens:

• Print a copy of the current Walgreens coupon policy
• Sign up for the Walgreens Balance Rewards program (you can sign up online, in-store or call them at 855-225-9225). You need to sign up for this in order to get the sale prices at Walgreens. Basically you will be earning points based on your purchase with the Balance Reward program. You will be earning points based on buying specific items in the ad (which will be clearly marked). These Balance Rewards can then be spent online or in-store.
• Walgreens Register Rewards – These are manufacturer’s coupons that print out from the register after your transaction is complete & based on your purchases. These look similar to catalinas from the grocery store & you can use it as dollars off on a future transaction.  You will only get 1 Register Reward per transaction for that specific item/promotion. So if you want multiple Register Rewards for that same promotion, you will need to do separate transactions.
• Coupon to Item Ratio – Walgreens requires that “the number of manufacturer coupons, including Register Reward manufacturer coupons, may not exceed the number of items in a transaction. So, the number of manufacturer coupons needs to equal the number of items you have. This means that you may need a filler item if you have 1 item and 2 coupons – you will need a filler item for that 2nd coupon to apply to.
• Coupon Order at Walgreens – The best way to hand over your coupons at Walgreens to make sure they all apply is to give them the manufacturers coupon first, then the Walgreens store coupon and lastly the Register Reward coupon.

• Walgreens In-Ad Coupons – You will find coupons in the Walgreens ad which are typically Walgreens store coupons but may occasionally be manufacturer’s coupons (it will say that it’s a manufacturer’s coupon at the top)
• Instant Value Coupons (IVC) - These are basically store sales but you will need to clip the coupon or have them scan the coupon for the sale. These can be found at the front of the store in a monthly coupon booklet or sometimes in the Walgreens store ad.

These classes offer fun children’s stories, games, crafts and snacks. Each month focuses on a different topic and activities center around that theme. Parents and children are encouraged to come, learn, and play together!  This month, siblings are our theme. Activities will build your child’s  pride and excitement for their big, little, or soon to be born brothers and sisters! There will also be great parenting information on reducing sibling rivalry and the chance to connect with other parents about personal challenges and successes.

*OMG Coloring Event at Child’s Play – Portland; 5/22; 3:00pm – 5:00pm; OMG Friends creator and Portlander, Mr. Ryan will be at Child’s Play with a brand new coloring sheet featuring the OMG Friends: Sgt. Peepers, Butterscotch & Truffles. After coloring and cuteness, make a night of it and head over to Santa Fe Taqueria for a Mr. Ben concert and free kid’s meals (with adult purchase). Mr. Ben plays from 5-6 pm.

*St Johns Swapnplay Playspace Open Play - Portland; 5/23; 10:00am – 12:00pm; Free to all! This is a chance to come learn, play and grow. Free toddler/preschooler art class from 10-11. First come first served as we run out of materials after 15 students. Open Play is an open time for non-members to enjoy the space. This is also a great time to learn about membership should you be interested.

*Storytime at A Children’s Place Bookstore – Portland; 5/23; 10:30am – 11:00am; Enjoy this free weekly storytime at the lovely A Children’s Place Bookstore.  A variety of books for different age ranges will be read.  FREE.

*Storytime with Olive and Dingo at Another Read Through  – Portland; 5/23; 3:00pm; Olive Rootbeer and Dingo will read stories, sing songs, make balloon animals, and generally entertain and whoop it up with any kids and grownups who stop by.  Donations welcome.
