Like me, you’re probably still reeling from the devastation that took place in Moore, Oklahoma earlier this week. So many lives lost, and even more lives changed forever.

And like me, you’re probably feeling pretty helpless, just not sure what you can do to help these people who’ve lost so much.

But there is something you can do to help families who lost pets in the Oklahoma storm. You can share photos of lost and found pets via social media.

We’ve proven that social media saves shelter dogs, and we know that the simple click of the “share” button on Facebook and retweets on Twitter really do make a difference. It stands to reason, then, that the same practice will work to help reunite Oklahoma families with their missing furry loved ones.

Over on The Lazy Pit Bull Facebook page, we’ve created a photo album specifically for lost and found pets in Oklahoma. We’re encouraging people to share photos of missing pets on our page, and we’ll add them to the album and share with our amazing followers, The Lazy Pit Bull Army. In turn, they’ll share the photos on their social media pages, and we’ll spread the word in hopes of bringing families back together in Moore, Oklahoma.

The conference is not just an opportunity to meet and mingle with your favorite online personalities, but also a chance to learn so much about how to use your blog and social media presence to make a difference for animals.

Have you met Tito the Pom? When I texted this photo to my husband, he responded, “Is that thing real? It’s the most adorable thing in the world!”

This is Imelda of I’m Not A Monster, me, Dan and Lucy, Teresa and Frankie, and Kelly and Zoey. These really are some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met!

While at the conference, I was honored to be included in events sponsored by Petfinder, PetSmart, and the ASPCA. I also met many great people who offer wonderful products for pets and people, and I’ll be telling you more about that over the coming weeks.

Next year’s BlogPaws conference will be held in Las Vegas, and registration is already open. I know I’ll be going, and next time I’d really like to take The Lazy One, too. Having her with me is the only thing that could’ve made this year’s conference even better… although I must admit, it’s pretty awesome to come home to this sweet blockhead.

Two Sox is a handsome one year old boy who is still very much a puppy at heart. He managed to make it out of New York City’s high kill shelter, and even survived a bout of kennel cough that turned into pneumonia. Today he’s healthy and happy, and looking for a forever home.

This boy is a silly, playful clown who loves people, dogs, and older children. Sox is a very active dog, looking for an active family that can keep up with his high energy. He’d make a great running partner, and would enjoy any high energy activity. Sox is very smart and responds well to training, too.

Handsome Duke is a 3 year old Pocket Pittie who always has a smile on his face. It’s hard to believe he’s still waiting on an adopter or foster, isn’t it?

This very friendly boy really loves being with people, but he’s not so sure about other dogs. He’s currently in training, and he’s being socialized with other dogs with the hope that he’ll one day be able to live with another dog.
