One thing is for sure when Bill Cosby shows up, everyone in the audience will be captivated by his years of comedy routines that are mixed in with words of advice he has shared for generations.

Cosby has been a barrier breaker for years, and he accomplished his first feat with the hit TV show I Spy and again with The Cosby Show.  The Emmy Award winner’s contributions to the comedy landscape will be present on June 28th!

Play a few rounds of racquetball with dad on Father’s Day this year.

If you have never felt the rush of a blue rubber ball being whacked at a wall, which is half the size of a tennis court, and then having that ball come caroming back towards you, then obviously you have never played racquetball before. But for those of us living in Tamarron Apartments, we know that we have racquetball courts right here on property.

Why not make this one a Father’s Day to remember and play dad in a match on our indoor racquetball court?

Racquetball is not for the faint of heart. You really have to have some adroit reflexes and you need to be ready for anything. Lucky for you, the rules are pretty easy to interpret. Once you decide on where your court lines lie, then the only thing left to do is play some ball.

Your dad may very well be better than you at racquetball and that’s okay. It’s called “Father’s Day” — not “Win at All Costs Day.” Your dad will be pleased to see that you are at least able to hold your own on the court. So pick up a racket, some balls, and let’s get going! Father’s Day is nearly here!

If you’re looking for public golf courses in Smyrna where you can practice your swing, there are a few in the area that you may enjoy. Of our top three picks, two are located in Smyrna near our community, and one is in nearby Marietta, only a twenty minute car ride away from Tamarron.

• Fox Creek Golf Club is a par 62 course which is challenging enough for all levels of golfing expertise. The course was designed by John LaFoy.

• Legacy Golf Links is an even more challenging par 58 course neighboring the Fox Creek Golf Club. If you’re looking for a more advanced challenge, this is the place to play.

• City Club Marietta is a great place for new players but also has some major challenges for seasoned players at this par 71 course.

Dive headfirst into local history with a trip to Kennesaw Mountain.

State parks in Marietta and the surrounding Metro Atlanta area have a rich history that even involves more than the Civil War. At Kennesaw Mountain State Park, it’s about the history and the people who made this area as beautiful and diverse as it stands today.

This year is the 150th anniversary of the battle at Kennesaw Mountain during the Civil War. All through the month of June, there will be exhibits and activities to commemorate the rich history of the time.

But as we’ve said, there is so much more to the area than the Civil War. The area is rich with the history of the Cherokee people, women, and African-Americans, both freed and enslaved. There are plenty of things to see, do, and learn during your visit, and many people have commented that they have to visit several times just to see it all!

Head down to the Sweet Auburn district in Atlanta for their annual Springfest this May.

Atlanta is the hotbed of events in Georgia when the heat of summer begins to set in. One of the most popular Atlanta festivals that you don’t want to miss lights up the skyline on May 10 – May 12 at the Sweet Auburn Springfest 2013 extravaganza!

As noted on the site, this festival has been “Revived..Recharged..Renewed,” meaning you’re going to have a really great time! The musical entertainment, alone, is well worth coming to the festival.

Over the three days, you’ll hear music by The Dynamic Dolphins, The Red Heads, Ebeny Armstrong, R&B from Melodic, rap and dance from J Plus The Entertainer and the soulful Gospel sounds from the Diamond Divas and God’s Gurls. You’ll also be entertained by the contemporary dance moves of Sideways Dance Company and orchestrated numbers by the Elite Scholars Academy.

These are just a few of the performers who’ll make your time at the festival something to remember. There will also be plenty of food and merchandise vendors on site to feed your hunger or bring home a souvenir to remember.

Catch a bright and spectacular laser light show at Stone Mountain Park on Memorial Day.

When you are looking to spend Memorial Day in Atlanta, there are tons of different things that you could do. But because you’re here in Atlanta you don’t want to just do what everyone else is. You want your Memorial Day to be individual and fantastic. So, why not do something that you can only do here and come out to Stone Mountain for their amazing nightly Lasershow?

Atlanta is very reverent for the sacrifices our brave men and women have made in defending our freedoms. So while the Lasershow at Stone Mountain may be something of a spectacle for the young at heart, the fact that it’s so well done is not lost on spectators of all ages.

Families of the fallen as well as current veterans who are of sound mind and body all try to make the pilgrimage to Stone Mountain when they are able to see this amazing spectacle. And if you ask any longtime Atlanta resident, you’ll quickly find out that this is one of the hottest shows on a summer evening, even outside of the Memorial Day Weekend.

Taking your kids to the Stone Mountain Lasershow on May 25-27 is also instructive. You can show them this amazing spectacle and then let them know the reason behind this show, which can only make them more proud and reverent for freedoms they don’t even realize they enjoy!

Spend the day fishing at Cindy’s Lake this weekend.

When the weekend comes there is nothing as pleasurable and as relaxing then to get outdoors and go fishing in Smyrna.  And when residents of The Tamarron are planning to go fishing in the area, they like to do it at Cindy’s Lake. It is such a wonderful activity, whether  you are going alone or even going out there with your fellow anglers.

For many serious anglers, they like to get out when the fish are biting around eleven at night and 1AM in the morning, or later in the afternoon between 3:58PM and 5:58 PM.

One of the best benefits besides the excellent fishing is its close proximity to Smyrna, being only 3 miles from the city.  So, when you are done fishing, you will back home at your Tamarron at Vinings Apartment in no time at all.

Before you head over to go on your fishing adventure, make certain that you have the required fishing license.  After all of this, you should be set to catch a big one!

If you’re new to town and you haven’t spent much time exploring the landscape, there is always the chance you haven’t seen this Wonder of the World (or at least the world of Georgians). You owe it to yourself and you owe it to your standing as a resident of Smyrna to come out and see The Big Chicken.

Located at the intersection of Cobb Parkway (US 41) and Roswell Rd (GA 120), you maybe have already passed this Kentucky Fried Chicken before. But if you haven’t looked up at and stood next to the 56 foot tall steel sided red chicken, which shoots up from this location, then you are really missing the boat.

The Big Chicken was built in 1956 and remains an area attraction that everyone loves. When your mom comes to town or your girlfriend lists the sites around Georgia you have yet to explore, you’re going to have to go come down Cobb Parkway for the chance to see this landmark, mere minutes away from Tamarron.
