Disney Channel has ordered the comedy series “I Didn’t Do It” starring popular actress and recent Radio Disney Music Award winner Olivia Holt (Disney XD’s “Kickin’ It,” and the Disney Channel Original Movie “Girl Vs. Monster” for which she recorded the song “Had Me @Hello”) and newcomer Austin North (“A.N.T. Farm,” “Kickin’ It”), it was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. The multi-camera series will begin production this summer in Los Angeles for a scheduled early 2014 premiere on Disney Channel.

In the series, ultra-competitive fraternal twins Lindy and Logan Watson, together with their four best friends navigate their freshman year of high school. Each episode begins with a comedic “what just happened?” situation as Lindy and Logan each spin their own vivid account of a certain occurrence or predicament. The series will utilize flashback scenes to tell the siblings’ unique stories.

Bonnett said, “We are looking forward to presenting our viewers with the humor, friendship and unexpected plot twists this unique sitcom offers by beginning each episode with the end of the story. We have assembled a top-notch creative team and cast of talented young actors with incredible comedic chemistry who already feel like they have been close friends since childhood.”

In addition to Holt and North, the series stars Piper Curda (“A.N.T. Farm”) as Jasmine, Sarah Gilman (“Last Man Standing”) as Delia and Peyton Clark as Garrett.

“I Didn’t Do It” was created by Tod Himmel (“90210,” “The Starter Wife”) and Josh Silverstein (“So Random!”), and is executive produced by Himmel and Judd Pillot (“According to Jim,” “Dog With A Blog”). Silverstein is supervising producer.

Although the CD edition of the soundtrack to The Lone Ranger has yet to be updated, Amazon.com is now providing details on the downloadable MP3 edition, which includes a full track list of the instrumentals composed by Hans Zimmer.

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ The Lone Ranger, a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

The Oriental Land Company, owner and operator of the Tokyo Disney Resort located in Chiba, Tokyo announced entertainment additions, changes and termination of several entertainment opportunities in both its Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks.

Following in the footsteps of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland’s Cinderella Castle will become the focal point of a new night-time projection-mapping show titled ‘Once Upon A Time.’ With an investment of approximately 2 billion yen (US $21.1 million), the fifteen minute show will open mid-2014 and will include special effects such as on-stage pyrotechnics while using music and imagery from many of Disney’s animated classics such as Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland.

At DisneySea, the Mermaid Lagoon Theater will see its final performance of its ‘Under the Sea’ spectacular on April 6, 2014. After the closure, the theater and the Little Mermaid-themed show will be revamped and reimagined with a new show using upgraded stage and lighting technology, along with display screens installed in the rear of the audience seating area. The new show (no title specified) is expected to open in spring of 2015 and will center on King Triton hosting a musical concert and will feature appearances by Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian and others, presenting a ‘mesmerizing world under the sea — just as in the movie — with lively music, songs and dynamic performances.’

Also announced at Tokyo DisneySea is the closure of the popular ‘Legend of Mythica’ show, which will see its final performance on September 7, 2014.

Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is poised to widen the gap even further as the world’s largest licensor with another year of strong growth tied to robust sales of licensed Disney merchandise and the acquisition of top entertainment company Lucasfilm Ltd. During an exclusive presentation at the annual Licensing Expo 2013 trade show, Bob Chapek, president of Disney Consumer Products, announced the formal inclusion of Lucasfilm licensing into DCP’s extensive franchise portfolio. Chapek also outlined the division’s strategy of bringing a more consumer-centric focus to DCP by aligning Disney’s expansive library of content with each consumer segment, focusing on technology and product innovation and on long-term franchise development.

“The Disney brand is our most powerful asset and with the acquisition of Lucasfilm, our franchise portfolio has never been stronger,” said Chapek. “Our rich and diverse content slate is full of opportunities to connect with the consumer in new and exciting ways through incredible storytelling and compelling characters. There is simply no better time in history for licensees and retailers to be associated with Disney.”

Headlining new content and merchandising programs in fiscal year 2014 and beyond are: the Star Wars franchise and the Marvel franchises of Avengers and Spider-Man; plus dynamic original programming from the leading preschool brand Disney Junior – such as Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins, which are demonstrating blockbuster success with audiences and retailers alike. Additionally plans for new content from both Disney/Pixar and Disney’s animation and live action studios, including Planes and Maleficent, rounds out a stellar content line-up prime for merchandising opportunities.

Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph, presents Frozen, a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey — teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven –to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. ‘Mickey Mouse,’ a new short-form series of 2D comedy cartoons featuring Disney’s #1 star, will make its television debut with three new cartoon shorts the weekend of Friday, June 28 – Sunday, June 30 at 8:30 pm ET/PT on Disney Channel. New shorts will continue to roll out with Friday premieres beginning Friday, July 5. Episodes will be available on WATCH Disney Channel, Disney.com, the Mickey Video Player App and iTunes following their linear premiere.

With the slapstick feel of classic Mickey Mouse and contemporary direction and pacing, the series of cartoon shorts presents Mickey in a broad range of humorous situations that showcase his pluck and rascality, along with his long-beloved charm and good heartedness. Each cartoon short finds Mickey in a different modern setting including Santa Monica, New York, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo, Venice and the Alps, facing a silly situation, a quick complication and an escalation of physical and visual gags. The stories also feature genuine heartfelt and heroic moments as Mickey explores and experiences life with his comical partners: Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto.

Among the cartoon premieres are ‘No Service,’ in which Mickey and Donald try to buy lunch from a beachside snack shack but are unceremoniously turned down because of the classic ‘No shirt, no shoes, no service’ admonition, Friday, June 28; ‘Yodelberg’ where Mickey longs to visit Minnie atop her mountaintop chalet but quickly realizes that the threat of avalanche has made the trek up the mountain more challenging than usual, Saturday June 29; ‘New York Weenie,’ where the hot dog Mickey buys for his beloved and very hungry Minnie ends up taking him on a energetic chase through New York’s Central Park, Friday July 5; ‘Tokyo Go,’ which finds Mickey fighting Tokyo’s crazy commuting crowds aboard the bullet train, Friday July 12; and ‘Stayin’ Cool,’ in which Mickey, Donald and Goofy must find creative ways to keep cool on the hottest day of the year, Friday July 19.

An early sneak preview of the first cartoon short, ‘Croissant de Triomphe,’ in which Mickey must deliver croissants to Minnie’s cafe, battling street traffic and other Parisian obstacles along the way, debuted in March 2013 on Disney.com.

Geared towards kids age 6-14 and families, and produced in 2D animation, the design esthetic for the “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts reaches back to Mickey’s roots and borrows reverentially from the bold style of his 1930s design, but not before adding a few contemporary touches. Designs for other characters have a similar approach, favoring a “rubber-hose” cartoon style for more exaggerated animation.

Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) has tapped a trio of talented actors to join the voice cast in Frozen. Josh Gad (The Internship, Love & Other Drugs, Broadway’s ‘The Book of Mormon’) provides the voice of Olaf the snowman; Santino Fontana (Broadway’s ‘Cinderella,’ ‘Brighton Beach Memoirs,’ ‘Billy Elliot’) lends his vocal talents as Hans; and Alan Tudyk (42, Wreck-It Ralph, ABC’s ‘Suburgatory’) joins the film as the voice of the Duke of Weselton. The talented group of actors joins Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff in the epic adventure, directed by Chris Buck (Tarzan, Surf’s Up) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, Wreck-It Ralph), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog). He appears alongside Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in The Internship, and has a guest-starring role in Fox’s ‘New Girl.’ Upcoming roles include the biopic Jobs, in which he stars as Apple co-creator Steve Wozniak. Fontana provides the voice of Anna’s handsome suitor Hans, who steps in to govern Arendelle when Anna takes off to find her sister. The actor was seen on Broadway as Prince Charming in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘Cinderella,’ for which he received a Tony® nomination. His other Broadway credits include ‘The Importance of Being Earnest,’ ‘Brighton Beach Memoirs,’ ‘Billy Elliot’ and ‘Sunday in the Park with George.’ Fontana also starred in 2011’s off-Broadway play ‘Sons of the Prophet.’ He’s received Drama Desk, Lortel, Obie and Clarence Derwent Awards. On TV, Fontana has appeared on ‘The Good Wife,’ ‘Royal Pains,’ ‘A Gifted Man’ and ‘Made In Jersey.’

Walt Disney Studios today released its first official teaser trailer for Frozen, embedded below, which features snowman Olaf and reindeer Sven, but none of the human characters.

When a prophecy traps the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter, Anna (Kristen Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his sidekick reindeer, Sven, on an epic journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa, the Snow Queen (Idina Menzel), and put an end to her icy spell. When Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) needed place to hang out after school, they turned to the Chubbie’s Famous burger joint.

Today, Disney Channel announced that it will be picking up the show’s spin-off, ‘Girl Meets World’ with production to begin this summer and the series to premiere in 2014, but this time the hangout of choice for Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and her friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) will be closer to home. Below is the official show description announced today by Disney Channel:

‘Set in New York City, the new comedy series will tell the wonderfully  funny, heartfelt stories that ‘Boy Meets World’ is renowned for — only this time from a tween girl’s perspective  — as the curious and bright 7th grader Riley and her quick-witted friend Maya embark on an unforgettable middle school experience.  But their plans for a carefree year will be adjusted slightly under the watchful eyes of Riley’s dad who’s also a faculty member — and their new History teacher — and Riley’s mom who owns a trendy afterschool hangout that specializes in pudding.’

And it is with that we are pleased to announce that the name of the hangout will be The Pudding Pot (or — more specifically — Topanga’s Pudding Pot).

The Disneyland Resort has announced it will be hosting a 25th Anniversary screening and panel for Who Framed Roger Rabbit for its Annual Passholders at the AMC Theatre located in its Downtown Disney district on Tuesday, June 18 at 8:00 pm PT.

The panel will be moderated by associate producer Don Hahn and is expected to include Director of Special Projects at Walt Disney Feature Animation, Dave Bossert, Visual Effects Animator on Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Charles Fleischer, the voice of Roger Rabbit.

Registration and wristband distribution for the event will begin at 12:00 noon on the day of the event at the AMC 12 Theaters in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. All participating Guests (ages 3 and older) must be valid Annual Passholders on the day of the event. Guests under the age of 3 do not need an Annual Pass, but will need a wristband to attend the event.
