When you’re cooling off in our beautiful pool at Steeplechase this summer, preventing sunburn when swimming is just as important as when lying out by the water. When you’re in the water, you feel cooler; therefore, might not think about the sun causing a burn. Here are a few tips for preventing sunburn when swimming:

• Cloudy days count, too. Make sure you have on plenty of sunblock, even on a cloudy day.
• Apply your sunblock (SPF 15 or higher) every 30 to 45 minutes when you’re swimming. Remember, you perspire in the water as well, so you have not only the water to wash away the block but your sweat, too.
• Make sure your face is protected. Because the sun reflects off the water, your face can get burned quicker than the best of your body while swimming. Therefore, a good high SPF lotion can help you prevent sunburn on your most tender skin.

When you’re looking for the best July 4th fireworks around our Knoxville apartments, it’s no surprise that people come down to the World’s Fair Park year after glorious year. It’s the celebration of our birth as a nation and the World’s Fair Park and their Festival on the Fourth is the place people come to partake in that.

Happening on June 8 at the World’s Fair Park, The Knoxville Tour de Cure is going to be an amazing event. The routes on the Knoxville Tour de Cure check in at 10M, 25M, 40M, 62M and the big one century. If you have ever ridden 100 miles, you know what this route is all about.

Along the way on the Knoxville Tour de Cure, there are going to be SAG’s (supplies and gear) trucks and various rest stops along the way. The SAG’s will have full medical equipment, and mechanical support. The rest stops will have plenty of water and support staff to help you on your way.

The minimum fundraising goal of $200 can be hopefully supplied by your friends and family so that you can focus in on the ride.
