Chocolate Caramel Cake

1 Chocolate Cake mix (German Chocolate or Devil’s Food works great)
1 – 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
1 – 12 ounce jar of caramel ice cream topping
1 – 8 ounce container of frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 chocolate candy bar to make chocolate curls

Bake cake in a 9″ X 13″ pan according to package directions. Remove cake from oven and immediately poke holes in the cake with a skewer or large meat fork. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake. Allow milk to soak in a bit, then pour caramel ice cream topping over the cake. Cool cake completely. Frost cake with whip topping and decorate with chocolate curls.

Grab yourself some Miracle-Gro potting soil,  acrylic paint, paint brushes, Sharpie marker,  Thompson Water Sealer, acrylic sealer, a flower pot and grass seed (or a plant).

Give the entire pot a couple of coats of Thompson WaterSealer inside and out. This will keep the paint from bubbling away from the pot. You must seal the pot or the paint won’t stick.

Let the painting begin! Bella decided to do a self portrait for her pot!

A Sharpie marker is an easy way to add details like eyelashes.

Once the paint is completely dry give it a coat of  acrylic sealer to protect the painting.

Now it is time to plant! Place a  small rock in the bottom of the pot to keep the potting soil from  falling through the hole in the bottom.

Fill the pot completely with soil if planting grass seed. If using a  plant fill the pot with the potting soil, add the plant then fill in around the plant with more potting soil. Water and set pot in the sun.

Be sure to keep watering the  grass and soon the flower pot person will have hair! A little washi tape or ribbon can give your person a bow for their ‘hair’.

I love a yummy breakfast recipe.  Looking for something not so healthy but amazing try this sausage and mozzarella egg casserole, overnight coffe cake, this delish apple coffee cake or the best quiche recipe EVER!

Whole Wheat and Flax Pancakes

1/4 cup ground Flax
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup whole wheat flower
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk (I used 1%)
1 egg
1 tablespoon canola oil

Combine flour, flax, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt in a large bowl. In another bowl mix milk, egg and oil. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry indredients. Gently stir until just combined. Do not over stir, batter will be lumpy. Spray pan with nonstick spray and cook!
