Children’s Medical Center has a few free events this Saturday to teach kids the importance of bike safety along with giving away free properly fitted bike helmets.

This is a fun event to encourage the kids to wear helmets to help prevent head injuries from bike accidents.  My boys have been saved from a head injury or two from falling off their bikes.  Also, we wear ours while riding their Razor scooters, too!

Have you seen some of the latest flavors that Mike-Sell’s Snack Company at the grocery stores yet? They are now offering Sour Cream & Onion Kettled Cooked Chips, Bold Jamaican Jerk Kettled Cooked Chips and Cinnamon Toast Puffcorn Delights.

They sent me a few samples of them and I was not disappointed!  I had my youngest son help me taste test and review them with me.  However, I did have to pry the bags out of his hands because he did not want to share.

First, we tried the Sour Cream and Onion Kettled Cooked Chips.  I was really excited that they have have finally brought this one back and now as a kettle cooked chip.  I remember getting this flavor when I would visit my Dad at work.  It is very crunchy and still has the same great taste that I remember!  We ate the entire bag during the review of this one! ;)

Next, we tried the Bold Jamaican Jerk Kettled Cooked Chips.  If you love a spicy chip, then this one is for you.  You will first taste the sweetness and then a nice kick of spice almost immediately after putting the chip in your mouth.  This one is not for the faint of heart and has a Caribbean flair to it.  My 8-year old gave this one 2 thumbs up!  I am not much of a spicy chip eater but I liked the flavor. I had to have a glass of water to chase these down.

How many of you love Puffcorn Delights? I seriously will eat an entire bag at one sitting and seriously cannot be trusted with just a handful  Well, if you are like me then you are in for a treat! The Cinnamon Toast Puffcorn Delights are the perfect combination of sweet buttered cinnamon flavor.  They will melt in your mouth!  We had our bag gone within a few minutes  We kept taking turns eating a handful until the bag was gone!  You must try these for sure and I am warning you that they highly addicting!

The race will take place at Paul Brown Stadium on Saturday, June 29th.  Just wear a white t-shirt and you will be sprayed with nontoxic colored powders throughout the course in Downtown Cincinnati.  This sounds like so much fun for sure!  Kids 7 and under will be admitted for FREE!

Have you noticed all the fish sandwich options this year? I love McDonald’s fish sandwich and it seems like I only order it during the Lenten season. This year, McDonald’s has introduced a new menu option, Fish McBites.

Fish McBites are crunchy bites of wild Alaskan Pollock pieces and are served with a tangy tarter sauce.  This would be a great option if you watching your carbs and can do without the bun. They are available in three sizes; snack, regular, and shareable.  They are even available as an option for the Happy Meal, too!

I am looking forward to trying them for myself since I love to snag their fish fillet every now and then.  I have been trying to eliminate bread out of my diet during the week.  This may be worth a try since the snack size has only 250 calories.  I have been working hard with trying to stay consistent with workouts and healthy eating.
