Have you ever had one of those weeks where you went to bed every night and hoped with all your might that when you woke, the whole bloody week would be over??!!

Well darlings, Lily has had one of those weeks (an absolute doozy if I might add) but since I don't want to bore you with all the horrid little details, let's just say that I have never been so happy to hear the words 'it's Friday' as I was this morning!

Now, I am dashing off to pick up whatever is left of my car off the side of the road (yes we had a little bit of that too!) but I wouldn't dream of leaving you today without a little something to enjoy during this holiday weekend (Happy Victoria Day Canada!).
A yummy, watermelon variation of one of Lily's summer staples, the Mojito, that should have anyone, yours truly included, singing a cheerier tune in no time!

Spring is a time of refreshing rain showers, fragrant flowers, breezy butterflies...and of course, wretchedly puffy eyes! For the last two weeks, the blooming garden buds that aggravate my seasonal allergies have caused me to wake up more swollen around the eyes than a not-so lucky prizefighter at Madison Square Gardens and while this little fellow up above is as cute as a button with his swollen sleepy gaze, once the umbilical cord falls off and you can stomach solid foods, the look doesn't seem as cute anymore, does it?
Spring allergies, teary-eyed moments at weddings and the occasional hangover that accompanies a really super night out with the girls can pack a bloated wallop to even the prettiest of mugs so we have gathered the top ten ways to fight off the dreaded eye puff!
(Share your tips and tricks with us for battling the puff!)

1. Cold water splash

This should always be your first step in fighting swollen eyes. A few quick splashes of cold water on the face will give a mini shock to your body temperature and jolt circulation, starting the de-puffing process.

(We always follow this step with a couple of redness-reducing eye drops like Visine. Puffiness and redness seem to go hand in hand for most of us)

ROYAL STYLE REVIEW: The Royal 'IT' Girls at Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands' Farewell Dinner

Today, the people of the Netherlands said goodbye to their beloved Queen Beatrix who abdicated the Dutch throne in favour of her son, the newly crowned King Willem-Alexander and welcomed his regal consort and one of our favorite royal ladies, the flamboyant fashionista HRH Queen Maxima!

While the day was full of cultural pomp and pageantry, just the stuff royal watchers love, our eyes were on what the ladies wore last night to a dinner hosted by the outgoing Queen Beatrix, now known once again as Princess Beatrix, held at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam.

To be completely honest, the first reason I picked this book was due to its enticing cover, the vintage image caught my eye right away (I have always been a sucker for a pretty picture!) but it was the story of two women, worlds apart in many ways and yet unexplainable entwined, that peeked my interest in this compelling tale of how love and grief mold our lives.

I am usually a little hesitant when picking up books about missing children. It is something I hate to think about much less immerse myself in stories about this horrible reality but this tale of a not-so-young girl who just disappears one day before heading off to college and the dissection of her neighbourhood in the aftermath promises to be a captivating read!

I have been smitten with Drew Barrymore ever since I first saw her as the little cutie-patootie blonde girl in E.T. and since I have found her to be quite an endearing character, her comings and goings have always been of interest to me so I was tres curious to see the images of her tying the knot with art consultant Will Kopelman last summer.

The radiant (and expectant) bride was decked out in a custom made muslin and organza Chanel gown, which featured a skirt embroidered with tulle flowers and a black belt which she accessorized with a pair of 'Fils de Camelia' diamond earrings and a 14 carat white and black diamond vintage 'Eventail' cuff, both by Chanel Fine Jewellery.

Her gorgeous bouquet, designed by The Velvet Garden, was a mixture of cherry blossoms, pink spray roses, pink peonies and pink garden roses.

The wedding was held at Drew Barrymore's sprawling home in Montecito, California. I had heard that it was dubbed a 'backyard wedding' and while I am positive her backyard doesn't look anything like mine, I figured the relaxed theme appropriately rolled with her easy-going, flower-child persona. Touches of vintage inspired romance were everywhere as per the bride's request to wedding planner Yifat Oren.

Gourmet appetizers such as lobster rolls, steak tartare with quail egg, foie gras on pink peppercorn shortbread and wines from the bride's own label, Barrymore Wines were on offer to the guests before sitting down to a formal dinner catered by LA restaurant Lucques and Top Chef Masters Naomi Pomeroy.

Guests attending the celebration included Drew's Tinsteltown friends Busy Phillips, Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth, Jimmy Fallon and wife Nancy Juvonen, and Cameron Diaz who read the E.E. Cummings poem “I Carry Your Heart With Me” during the ceremony.

Does it get any cuter than a teepee set up for all the little kiddie guests to be entertained in for the evening? Games and movies for the children to watch were set up in the teepee while their parents enjoyed some fun of their own, courtesy of a silhouette artist and a black and white photo booth set up at the reception.

The happy couple left their reception in a vintage Mercedes convertible (a perfect choice if I may say so myself!) and spent their first night as husband and wife at the San Ysidro Ranch before they left for their honeymoon at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, California.

Grapefruit Brulee with Yogurt and Blueberry Sauce via Ambitious Kitchen

Nothing can get me springing out of a dreamy Sunday morning sleep state like a delectable aroma wafting through the house from the kitchen. If that sweet aroma beckoning me just so happens to be a mixture of two of my favourites, sweet blueberries and refreshing grapefruit, you can bet I will be the first to race to the table, my tastebuds and I ready to shout 'Good Morning'!

I found this delicious take on the custard-based brulee we are all familiar with, at the fabulous foodie blog Ambitious Kitchen. The super talented Monique, the blogger at the helm of Ambitious Kitchen, created this version which combines the tart grapefruit, used as a base instead of the custard, and the sweet blueberry sauce for a scrumptious flavor yin-yang, guaranteed to having you begging for it to be Sunday every day of the week!
