Kicking off at 8:00 pm, Video Games Live is said to be “ingenious and fantastic,” and with positive reviews from the Washington Post and the Seattle Times, you can guarantee that the show is worth watching. Three giant screens will be fitted around the venue, you will never miss a moment of the action.

The North Carolina Symphony Performance will feature symphonic arrangements of the following well-known video games:

If you have decided to move into the Lake Cameron apartments, the location is probably one of the main appeals.  Downtown Raleigh is steeped in history; instead of driving around the area in your own vehicle, why not pay for a Raleigh Rickshaws experience? These pedal cabs are environmentally-friendly, providing a sensible form of travel.

Rickshaws are a popular option for events including weddings. If you want to be a part of this growing service, you should think about taking a tour, such as the Historic Tour for $54. Alternatively, surprise someone special by paying $54 for a Date Package.

You can book a spontaneous ride on the rickshaws by arranging a pick-up time 30 minutes in advance online. Rides are limited to four people. If you are a business owner, you should check out advertising opportunities.

Take a ride on the New Hope Valley Railway.

If you know anything about Apex’s history you will be aware of the Apex Union Depot, which is based on Salem Street. This historic railroad was constructed in 1914, which is not long after the first railroad was commissioned in 1854. With so much of Apex’s history revolving around the stations and railroads, it would only be right that you experience a ride on the New Hope Valley Railway.

This railway operates on one Sunday per month and if you hop on board you can depart between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. Would you like to be pulled by a steam engine or diesel locomotive? You decide, because various passenger cars are available.

Admire the views of enchanting woods as you travel for eight miles over the course of an hour. You can even find souvenirs in the North Carolina Railroad Museum, which is approximately 30 minutes southwest of downtown Raleigh. Sound good? If so, buy your tickets now. Prices are as follows:

• $10 per adult or $7 per child for Diesel Excursion
• $12 per adult or $8 per child for Steam Excursion

The next ride at New Hope Valley Railway takes place on July 1st.

North Salem Street will be filled with people on both dates as people of all ages indulge in food from Cook Teams. Want to get involved in the event? If so, you should act fast, because there are only six Cook Team spots left! You can apply online, and the deadline is May 15th.

You don’t have to apply to have fun, though, because the events schedule is jam-packed. Feel free to try the following types of food cooked fresh from people around the country:

• Beef brisket
• Pork
• Ribs
• Chicken

Funds will be raised to support the Rotary Foundation, and once all 36 Cook Teams have whipped up their dishes, KCBS-certified BBQ judges will decide who deserves the $15,000 prize! Check out the volunteer opportunities for this event online.
