We’re coming to the end of the Wayfarer tour. Ever since Technorati quit doing their “most popular books” page, it hasn’t mattered so much that we all post in a three-day window. If we can spread the word to bloggers about the books we tour, knowing that each blogger has a sphere of influence in the real world as well as on the Internet, it doesn’t really matter if we do it over three days or a week or even two weeks.

So that was my thinking behind letting this tour ride for a bit.

But here it is Friday already, so here are the posts that I haven’t linked to so far.

• Becky, at A Christian Worldview of Fiction gives her introduction and tells some of why she liked the book, and she talks about why children love books like Wayfarer and how important such books are.
• Marie has the last part of wonderful three-part interview over at Fireside Musings.
• At My Own Little Corner of the World, Julie posted a great interview with RJ Anderson. Her students came up with some very good questions for the author.
• Another lovely interview. This on over at The Hungry Readers. Check it out if you want a sneak peek at Arrow.
• And at Whispers of Dawn, I talked a little bit about why I loved Anderson’s scenes and did a little dreaming about what these books would look like on the big screen. Would it not be cool to see the inside of the Oak? And that church/youth hostel called Sanctuary? And the islands that are home to the Children of Rhys?
• And this is not part of our tour, but I just stumbled on a great post by RJ Anderson: The Intersection of Faith and Fiction.

Book lovers know the joy that comes with finding a new favorite author.

How many times have we closed a beloved new book and felt a little fear that the author may not be able to give us another book to enjoy as much as we enjoyed the first. How many times have we bought the next book in the series hoping that the world and the characters in the second book will transport us the way the first book did, and more than a little afraid that it won’t be, because what could measure up to the first meeting we had with a wonderful character?

And what a relief to find that the first book wasn’t a fluke.

That was my happy experience with Wayfarer, by RJ Anderson. I’m looking forward to what everyone else thought of the book.

I am thrilled that HarperTeen has made review copies of Wayfarer available to us to tour. The book releases on Tuesday. I read the first in this series, Spell Hunter, a couple of months ago and knew right away that I was going to try to get the second book for a tour. Because, hey, there is no pay for these tours we do so we might as well at least do books we like. I don’t know about other members on the tour, yet, but speaking for myself, RJ Anderson is writing books I like. So I am so happy that we set off on Monday to tour Wayfarer, by RJ Anderson.

It seems every time I have one of Nancy Bo Flood’s books scheduled, someone goes into the hospital. Last time it was me in a drugged-up haze for twelve days; this time it was my mother. Drugged-up haze is putting it lightly for her. She almost died from being over-sedated. But she’s home now, and doing well.

So here is the over-due conclusion to the blog tour, with my sincere apologies to Nancy, who is, at the moment, somewhere in Japan, I believe.

Three bloggers signed up but didn’t participate…I blame myself for rescheduling the tour. I”m sure this caused conflicts for some. I’m sorry they missed out on this lovely book, though.

I am closing up the poll for three-day blogger for Calamity Jack. Becky give me a couple of days to get the Amazon gift certificate to you–someone stole my CC info and I have to wait for a new card.

Also I am going with a new policy for the three-day bloggers. From now on you get a hearty “THANK YOU!” and that’s all. 

Sorry. I was in the hospital for twelve days a couple of months ago and sitting at home all day, blogging, amazingly, does not come with health insurance. So…I am scrambling to pay my bills and I am having to cut back on the fun stuff.

(I know, what a world, eh? One funny friend, after I’d written, pouring out my woes and telling her I was going to have to get a job, wrote back so sympathetically and said, “I’m so sorry you were sick. And now you have to look for gainful employment! What’s next? Daily bathing?” heh heh With friends like that….)

But back to the bizz at hand: For this last tour, I am not even going to open the thing up for a vote. I am declaring SMS Book Reviews the winner because she did a couple of wonderful interviews. And I am also sending The Hungry Readers a gift certificate for their long-time faithfulness at posting three days on blog tours and for always putting up interesting, thought-provoking posts.

If you don’t like my tyrannical decisions here, I say in the words of Edward, the Black Prince of Wales, as recorded in the movie A Knight’s Tale, “This is my word. And as such is beyond contestation.”
