Soft Suede Birthday Bag

I have a couple of birthday gifts to give this week, so what better gift wrapping than a purse! This one is made with Soft Suede cardstock and Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The gift card size purse pattern can be found in the 12 Days of Christmas 2011 tutorial on the right hand sidebar or the tutorials page.

I made the flower with muslin and burlap fabrics and a Vintage Brad. I used the Scallops #2 die-cut. Cut 5 scallops. Four of them were folded in quarters and hot glued onto the remaining scallop. The center is the smallest circle from Circles #2 die cut.

How-to on Yesterdays Projects

Pocket Fold

Cut Designer Series Paper to 6" x6". Fold in half and place fold against the top of the Simply Scored. Score at 2-3/4" and 5-5/8".

Rotate paper so the fold line is against the left side of the Simply Scored and score at 3/4".

Fold on all score lines.

Fold both sides in.

Then fold straight up and crease with bone folder.

Now fold each piece back.

You should have 2 pockets. *Ü*

This one holds the flower from the Fun flowers die-cut.

Candy Box
Cut cardstock to 6" x 6".
Score all for sides at 2".
Score each corner at a diagonal as shown in the photo above.

Use the Scallop Border Punch on all 4 sides.
Fold on all score lines.

Punch a 1/8" hole in each corner, trim corners of any straggling edges.

Fold corners in towards the middle of the box.

Thread the ribbon though from corner to corner on the diagonal, then loop each end back to come though the outside of the other 2 holes and up through the middle. Clear as mud?

I made a backpack ensemble with the beautiful Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Papers. I am in love with these papers and I would have NEVER used those cardstock colors before I started playing with them!

The backpack holds a card and a little matchbox with chocolate in it all dressed up for Valentine's Day.

The backpack can hold at least 6 full size cards 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and envelopes or a nice size gift. The pattern for the backpack can be found in the Birthday Backpack tutorial on the right hand sidebar or the tutorials page of this blog.

Stampin' Up! is making some changes to the catalog line up. The current Idea Book & Catalog will end in May instead of June. Starting June 1, 2012, Stampin' Up! will release one annual catalog, comparable to (but smaller than) the current Idea Book & Catalog, and two seasonal catalogs, comparable to (but larger than) the current mini catalogs. Each seasonal catalog (formerly knows as Mini Catalog) will be extended a month for 5 months of shopping! Yahoo!!

3x3 Coffee Cup Cards How-To

I am home from an awesome Stampin' Up! Leadership in San Antonio, TX. I have pictures to go through and lots to share in the coming days. I received all your e-mails and almost through them all. Seems to be a lot of questions on how to make the 3x3 Valentine Coffee Cup Cards, which is perfect timing since I have that to show you today!

I got a little excited and took this photo before I added the 1/4" strip of cardstock along the middle of the lid and stamped the lipstick on the rim, but you know it goes there, right? You can see it in the photo below. Make sure you add Designer Series Paper to the envelopes. It is a 'wow' little detail!

Packaged in a clear box for BFF.

Four 3x3 coffee cup cards and 4 matching envelopes in the Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Start with cardstock cut to 6" x 2-1/4". Fold in half to be 3" x 2-1/4".

Lay the cardstock in the paper cutter with the fold line on the cutting track and the open end about 1/2" to the right of the cutting track. That black line on the paper cutter is the 1/2" line.

Cut it off to create the angle of the cup.

Turn the card around to the other side and place the fold line on the cutting track and the open end about 1/2" to the right of the cutting track. This time the fold will be on the bottom and the open side will be on the top.

Cut it off. cover with Designer Series Paper and stamp whatever you want on the inside.

The top piece is Whisper White cardstock size is 2-1/2" x 3/4". Round the bottom 2 corners.

I have an extra 1/4" strip of white cardstock adhered the middle of the 'lid' for extra dimension.

Stamp with the S.W.A.K. stamp in the lipstick shade stamp pad of your choice. I usually use Regal Rose but this time I used Poppy Parade.

The best part of attending Stampin' Up! events is meeting up with friends! I love to make little things to take for little gifts, but this year I decided to do something light and easy to pack unlike other years where I've hauled 3 pounds of chocolate in assorted gifts!

This year I made Valentine's from my favorite coffee cup card. I shrunk it down smaller than the card, smaller that the tags that Lorri Heiling and Penny Smiley made and them little fold over cards that fit perfectly into our 3x3 mini envelopes. They are 2-3/4" tall x 2-1/4" wide.

I used the new Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper coming soon with Sale-a-bration on January 24th and the darling single stamp S.W.A.K. Do you remember putting S.W.A.K. on the back of all your notes and envelopes in high school...maybe I'm dating myself, never mind!

I packaged them in 2's and put them in our small cello bags, made a little topper for them and they are ready for their trip to Leadership!

The topper uses the P.S. I Love You stamp set.

I have so many of these tiny composition notebooks that I purchased on sale at back to school time, that I thought I better make some of them up so I can fit other things in the drawer! I am such a hoarder of school and office supplies - and I can't part with them!

This notebook is 4-1/2" long and 3-1/4" wide. I embossed the Pear Pizzazz cardstock with the Finial Press Embossing Folder and the Big Shot and adhered it to the front and back cover. I thought the bookmark was enough embellishment, so I didn't do any stamping on it.

The flowers are cut from the new Twitterpated fabric and the Fun Flowers & Blossom Party die-cuts. Ribbon is the new Pleated Satin Ribbon in Baja Breeze with a Riding Hood Red Taffeta bow. It is assembled on a pony tail holder.

For demonstrators, this bookmark style was featured in the Stampin' Success, October issue, as my Workshop Wow for the Boise Regionals. And for anyone, directions are available in the 2010 Edition of the 12 Days of Christmas tutorial available on the right hand side bar or the tutorials page of this blog.

I've not really played much with the In Colors until I got the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper, coming soon for Sale-a-bration...now I can't get enough of them!

You are going to love this paper and best of all it's FREE!!! Sale-a-bration starts January 24th!

I used the Petite Pocket die-cut for the pocket and Two Tags die-cut for the tags. The tags are just a tad too long to close the lid of the pocket when they are all the way in, but who cares, it's cute.
