Broomfield is getting a combination TCBY/Mrs. Field’s store, and they’re having a grand opening event with giveaways and more!  The first one hundred people in line will receive free product for a month, and two of those people will receive free product for a year (by random drawing, maybe?).

The event takes place this Saturday, June 15th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the new location at 8001 Arista Place in Broomfield.  You can find out more on the Facebook event page.

The ninth-annual outdoor concert series, free to the public! This family-friendly repertoire concert features excerpts from the season along with new works, in classical and contemporary styles. Come early with a picnic, enjoy a beautiful summer evening with the ballet, and then marvel at the spontaneous dancing by children from the audience after the show! Performance length is approximately one hour.

This looks like a super fun event!  The city of Arvada will be hosting Sand In The City, a sand sculpture event, on June 14th and 15th!  Admission is free, and you can look around at the cool sculptures, hear live music, do food and games (additional cost), and more.

Here’s another freebie for National Donut Day: LaMar’s is giving away free donuts at their locations!  I don’t have any other details, other than that they are donating a portion of the proceeds to Salvation Army’s Oklahoma tornado relief, but you can see the announcement on their Facebook page here.

It’s time for another sale at Goodwill stores in Denver and north Colorado: this Saturday, June 8th, you can take 50% off nearly everything in the store, plus get all jeans for $0.99 each!  They open at 8 AM for this sale, and you can find all their locations here.

Can’t make it to this one?  Their next two are June 22nd and July 6th.

Don’t forget that Arc Thrift Stores have a 50% off sale every Saturday, and Salvation Army stores have started doing one color tag for 50% off every week.

The REI stores in Denver, Englewood, Westminster, Lakewood, and Boulder will be having another garage sale this Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th!  (It looks like it will only be on Saturday in Englewood.)  It officially opens at 9 AM but the line usually starts forming sooner.  You can expect to see big savings on used-and-returned items – just about everything from shoes to cartop carriers (we got a great deal on one of those this summer!).  All sales are “as-is” and cannot be returned, so be sure to check your items over carefully before you buy.

Friday, June 7th is a free admission day at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield!  You must be a Colorado resident to receive free admission (be prepared to show ID).  They’re open from 9 AM to 5 PM and this free day is only at the gardens at 8500 Deer Creek Canyon Road in Littleton.

The 13th annual  Kids Fishing Contest in Arvada will be held this Saturday, June 8th beginning at 6 AM!  Here’s the info:

Young fishing enthusiasts are invited to take part in the City of Arvada’s 13th Annual Fishing Contest! This is a free event for kids ages 3 – 14. Entry forms are available at the Arvada Reservoir and at Arvada City Hall. Participants may also register the day of the event. For more information call 720-898-7410.
