River Island Diamante Collar Textured Top

I wear a lot of tops like this (love a peter-pan collar) and always think this kind of collared, boxy top looks brilliant on petites. Because it’s sale time, I’ve had a quick scout about and the top above from River Island is in the sale, reduced from £28 to £14 HERE and in size 12 to 18. It’s not for petites especially but because you can be totally flexible with the length it doesn’t really matter.

This top is also quite short in the body and I always like a bit of beading! It’s £28 and again goes from size 12 to 16 (smaller sizes have sold out). It’s HERE . They’ve made the picture look really weird here I have to say.. looks much nicer on the actual model.

DiorBlush

So, Dior blushes have had a make-over with a new formula and weightless feel. There are 13 shades divided into four colour spectrums (pink, red, coral and nude) and three finishes (iridescent, matte and satin). I haven’t had samples of these yet but I am so looking forward to swatching them.

Diego Dalla Palma Autumn 2013 Collection

Some gorgeous greens ahead from Diego Dalla Palma – I love the mix of pearly polish with a deep forest green. The double ended Jumbo Pencil & Kajal Eye Duo (£14) is my top pick – it’s beautiful! There’s definitely a sixties vibe to it with the creamy baby pink Lip Stylo (£15) that also contains Argan oil for softening.

It’s also worth noting that the Ciglione Lash Booster Mascara (not shown, £17) has, as its name suggest, a lash growth stimulator formula.

The collection launches in September 2013.

Dior Magnetic Polish

One of the things I’m really surprised about is that for the Mystic Metallic autumn 2013 range, Dior has included a magnetic polish which is a trend I thought had died out.

However, thinking back, Dior did a very late to the party Croc nail polish last year that turned out the be the very best of its type that I’d ever seen – I still wear it now. And, so it is with this – it’s more lustred and more seamless than previous magnetics although it does need a glossy top-coat to bring out the 3d depth.

Dior Fall Look 2013: 5 Couleurs Mystic Metallics in Constellation

See, now THIS makes me happy! This is the Mystic Metallic Collection from Dior with some absolutely beautiful pieces. Above, one of the two star palettes (literally, as it turns out) in a purple-led array of five shades.

MAC Neon Orange

So, the All About Orange collection has launched and it’s this kind of mega shade in Neon Orange (above) that is perfect for that light-tan, slick-back hair, stunning-by-the-pool look that needs a couple of coats of mascara to go with it and nothing else. If I was brave enough for this I’d make it all about the lipstick, with nude nails and nothing to get in the way of the main event. It’s £14 HERE.

Melvita Nectar de Rose BB

Here’s a little scoop on a rose scented BB that’s arriving with us in September. I get asked a lot about BBs for pale skin types and this one is paler than many so could be a good fit for those who struggle with the darker, more tan tones of many.

It’s pretty much blended right into the palest part of my arm, and looking at it half an hour on from when the picture was taken it’s almost imperceptible. It has colour adaptive qualities and comes in one universal shade, Nude Rose.

As well as being organic with a natural mineral SPF15, it’s got the Melvita Rose Nectar Solution (rose floral water, fresh rose extract and wild rose petals) which leaves skin feeling very hydrated and soft and also has a pro-biotic formula.  And the smell! Laqa Lil’ Lip Duo

What I really love about Laqa & Co is that they use young designers who want to get their work seen on the packaging and they get a cut of the profits, too. I think that’s nice.

Anyway, above is the new lip pen duos – in the lip crayon sphere, these are probably some of the most buttery and moisturising in texture and the two new shades, Lambchop and Pinkman are spot on for a fuchsia filled summer.

Kett Fixx Creme Blush

I have been loving using my Kett Fixx Creme Blush. Kett is a professional range and it’s not quite got the slip of the consumer ranges of creme blush, so you’ll find it’s not quite as pliable to put on. But once it’s on, it stays on.

The pigment is strong so you only need a little – I can see my pot lasting virtually a life time because I’ve barely scratched the surface and I’ve had it for a while. It’s £22, HERE.

SkinCeuticals UV Defence

Whilst it really doesn’t look all that inspiring, the SkinCeuticals Mineral Radiance UV Defence is actually a very inspiring product. At SPF50, it has one of the lightest textures I’ve ever come across for protection at that level. It’s very liquid and therefore very, very light on the skin.

Although it looks quite dark (there is one shade: a ‘universal’ tint) once fully rubbed in it is the lightest of tints.

I haven’t fully rubbed it in because I think it’s useful to be able to see the shading correctly, but once you get it all the way in, there isn’t a lot, colour-wise, to show for it. It’s certainly not the BB or CC coverage levels that we are used to. However, for the first time in my life, I’ve found a light-feeling, high coverage that I can use day to day on my neck (where I have most sun-damage – so all the SPF15+ foundations and BBs seemingly have made a difference because obviously I don’t make up my neck) without it feeling sticky or looking weird or made up.

There is, I noticed, a very slight white cast initially that does fade away after it’s been on the skin for a couple of minutes. It does need shaking well before application and it’s water resistant so any sweating (as if I would ) shouldn’t be a problem. On the skin, it’s weightless. All in all, a bit of a skin saving revelation. Its £35 HERE.
