Those who managed to visit Andy Rementer’s recent Going Places exhibition at the Ship of Fools gallery in The Hague were treated to a selection of his new work in gouache. We liked the colour and texture of the paintings so much that we made a section in his folio dedicated to it. Click here to take a look at the portraits, street scenes and type that comprise a strong element of an already versatile body of work.

The new album by Swedish duo Niki And The Dove is out today. The album’s ethereal mix of electro-pop, atmospheric layering and references to magic is echoed perfectly in the dreamscape imagery we have created for the campaign. Released this week is the boxset of Toro Y Moi’s demo work, with artwork by Will Sweeney.

A collection of Chaz Bundick’s (Toro Y Moi) disparate and experimental early work, Will responded by ‘trying something completely abstract’ using paint markers and Rotring technical pens. He goes on to explain that ‘the songs titles brought to mind a sense of nostalgia and I wanted to create a series of dream-like images, I thought of them as almost like scientific illustrations of emotions or memories’.

Today sees the opening of THIS IS NOW, an exhibition of fifteen of the world’s leading designers, illustrators and motion graphics artists working today. Curated by Norwegian studio Oh Yeah, the exhibition features Big Active’s Jasper Goodall and Jesse Auersalo, whose contributions can be seen above. More details here.

Siggi Eggertsson has won an open competition to design the poster for this year’s Reykjavík Arts Festival, which takes place in the Icelandic capital this May. The poster incorporates the festival logo at its centre and will be used to promote the annual festival, which features performances from Bryan Ferry and Yann Tiersen. The above image is of the selected artwork before the addition of the festival logo.

Michael Kiwanuka’s debut album ‘Home Again’ is out now. The record was produced by Paul Butler of the Bees, features photography by Benjamin Etridge and sleeve design by Markus Karlsson and Gerard Saint at Big Active. As we reported last month Michael was the winner of this year’s BBC Sound of Poll – much deserved given his undeniable talent. We hope that such an early expectation of success will not distract from the acclaim that this album truly deserves. We love this record. Do yourself a favour – go and buy it.

Jasper has been working on a short film and has shared a small segment with us. It’s a study of five mysterious deities who fade in and out of view, accompanied by an eerie soundtrack. More to come soon.
