Stone Mountain Park: 250th Drone & Light Show

Thursday, June 25 to Sunday, June 28, 2026
FREE, but parking fee applies

The 250th Drone & Light Show features an all-new program honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States and commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The show includes a fully integrated Drone & Light experience, a special salute to the troops, Fire Drones synchronized with flames, sparks, and motion for a mesmerizing pyrotechnic display, and an epic fireworks finale.

While the light show is FREE in June, you’ll pay for parking unless you have an annual pass.
And starting July 1st, there will be a $5 ticket required for the light show.

The city of Chamblee will host a family-oriented Fourth of July celebration again in 2026.
We have all the details, PLUS we’ve updated to add the Uber $5 discount ride code — find it below, along with parking and shuttle info. 

The Independence Day summer concert and fireworks will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026. 

Fireworks will start around 9 p.m. 

The location is the new Chamblee City Hall, located at 3518 Broad Street, in the downtown Chamblee entertainment district.

There will be food trucks and beverage tents on site — and you’ll find a full list of the downtown Chamblee restaurants just below.

Last year, a Kids Zone featured inflatables and games — we don’t know yet if this is the case again.

The concert & entertainment

The headliner is Robin Thicke. 
There is usually an opening act that kicks things off around 6:30. 

Grammy Award-winning artist Robin Thicke brings his signature sound and chart-topping songs for a night of soulful entertainment. His feel-good performance will set the tone for a night that ends with one spectacular firework display, beginning around 9:00 p.m., lighting up the summer sky, creating the perfect backdrop for a night of music, food, and unforgettable memories.

All the rules for the new Open Container District are listed just below — please review!
You cannot bring your own alcohol.

These events are rain or shine so dress accordingly.
If the weather threatens to become dangerous, look at Chamblee’s social media pages to find out if an event is canceled or rescheduled.

Parking & shuttle info

Parking will be very limited and will be available at:
• Winter Construction (5616 Peachtree Road)
• Chamblee Middle School (3601 Sexton Woods Drive)

If you park at the Middle School, you can ride the shuttle, in operation from 5:30 to 11 p.m. 
It will drop you off at Chamblee’s Rideshare Park.
From the Rideshare Park, you’ll have a short walk to Chamblee City Hall.

If you need an address for Uber or Lyft, the Chamblee rideshare park is located at:

Uber discount code – get $5 OFF your ride

If you want to use Uber to get there, you can get a discount voucher here and plan to use the designated rideshare park, located at 5374 Peachtree Road.

Get there on MARTA

Downtown Chamblee is embracing transit-oriented development — and the business district is an easy walk from the Chamblee MARTA Station.

If you live anywhere on the Gold Line, MARTA is a no-brainer.
If you’re on the Blue/Green Line or the Red Line, you can still use MARTA; just transfer at Five Points Station. 

You can leave your car at MARTA stations with large parking lots — like Brookhaven, Doraville, or Lindbergh. 

Get off the Gold Line Train at Chamblee Station, then follow the signs pointing to the buses (not to Chamblee Tucker Rd) to exit the platform. 
In the middle of the station, one level below, you’ll find a short covered walkway that is marked Peachtree Rd. This is the shortest walk to the concert. 

(TL;DR version — if you take the train, do not exit the station via the front door! Find the walkway to Peachtree Rd and the back door.)

Road closures

Broad Street, Ingersoll Rand Drive and Irvindale Way will be closed from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.

Peachtree Road between Whaley Machine Co. building (5553 Peachtree Road) and the parking lot at Vintage Pizzeria (5434 Peachtree Road) will be closed at 2:00 p.m., throughout the duration of the event.

Open container policy!

Chamblee becomes the latest municipality in the Atlanta metro area to allow outdoor alcohol consumption in its entertainment district!

Starting June 1, 2023, you can purchase alcohol from a licensed establishment in downtown Chamblee and carry it with you, as long as you adhere to the ordinance guidelines.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Hours for outdoor alcohol consumption are 9 a.m to 10 p.m.
• Open containers are prohibited outside those hours.
• You still must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol.
• Alcohol-licensed restaurants will dispense your drink in a clearly marked plastic cup.
• Beer and wine cannot exceed 16 fluid ounces; for distilled spirits it’s 12 ounces.
• You cannot bring your own alcohol to the city for open container consumption.

Food options in downtown Chamblee

There will be food trucks on site for all concerts, as well as designated tents where you can buy beer and wine.

But in case you don’t know, downtown Chamblee has shrugged off its “Antique Row” reputation to become a bustling restaurant scene. Come early on concert nights to take advantage of these dining options, all located within a walkable area:

FIFA World Cup Fan Festival: Here’s how to get FREE tickets for dates in June & July!

The official FIFA World Cup Fan Festival is taking place this summer at Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta. It offers all fans an opportunity to experience the World Cup tournament outside of stadium walls. 

The Fan Festival is FREE to attend, but you must download a ticket for a specific date. (The details on ticketing are just below.) 

The festival is currently scheduled for 18 days between June 11th and July 15th, and is promised to be an immersive experience. It’s hosted by the City of Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA). 

In addition to the free experiences, there’s the option to buy tickets for an upgraded experience (see below).

NOTE that there will be a Clear Bag Policy in effect.

The festival will cover the entire footprint of Centennial Park.
It includes:

• Live broadcasts of tournament matches on giant LED screens
• Concerts, DJ sets, and global entertainment
• Interactive soccer-related experiences and games
• Diverse, international food and beverage vendors
• Murals, art, and graphics throughout the park
• Official merchandise for sale 

According to a press release, there will be four distinct programming areas in the park: 

• Main Stage will be the focal point of the FIFA Fan Festival featuring concerts and a 40-foot screen, which will showcase live matches and highlights from across the tournament (schedule below). 
• The Playground will feature activations and games geared to younger fans.
• The Pitch will host a community stage, podcasts, and AR/VR-enhanced sound experiences.
• Georgia Street will showcase artists and food vendors from across the region.

First concert line-up announced!

UPDATE on 5/28/26:
The city of Atlanta has announced a concert lineup that includes Davido, CeeLo Green, Kat Graham, Hero the Band, Nappy Roots, and Gente de Noche.

Others that will perform include DJ Rasta Root, Guero, Kevin Egan, Florista, B.bruja, Jay Envy, Sofa King Evil, Brixla, and Key. 

The bad news is, we don’t have dates yet for when any of these artists will perform, and we have to wait for more announcements. 

We’ll post more info as soon as we have it, so you know which days you’ll want to reserve your FREE tickets. 

How to get FREE tickets to the Fan Festival

You can register online for free general admission tickets for the dates listed below. 

NOTE that having a ticket may not guarantee entry, if officials decide the park is at or over capacity (which is 15K people at any given time). 
To guarantee entry on a specific date, you can purchase a GA+ ticket for $45 to $65, giving you access to an upfront viewing area with private restrooms and a bar.

You can get up to six free passes per order. 

After choosing your free general admission pass or paying for the GA+ ticket, you’ll receive an email with a link to access. Show your pass at the festival entrance for entry.

Getting there

In a nutshell — you need to take MARTA. 
Traffic will be a nightmare and downtown parking will be nonexistent. 

Centennial Park is an easy 5-10 minute walk from either:
• the GWCC/CNN Station on the Blue/Green line 
• the Peachtree Center Station on the Red/ Gold line

In case you don’t know, MARTA has transitioned to the Better Breeze fare system, in anticipation of heavy use during the FIFA World Cup games.

Cobb County celebrates 250 years of American independence on Friday, June 26, 2026 with a festival and patriotic drone light show. 

The event is FREE to attend.

It takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. at Jim Miller Park. 

Wear your red, white, and blue, and bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and patriotic spirit for a night of community celebration and family fun.

The event will feature:
Live entertainment
Family-friendly activities like rock climbing, face painting, petting zoo, caricature artists and more.
Food trucks and vendors

A drone show at dusk

The evening will end with a special drone show at dusk, illuminating the night sky.

Downtown Duluth’s open container policy

Duluth has a liberal alcohol policy with an open container policy.
During special events, you can carry an alcoholic beverage with you, as long as it was purchased from licensed downtown merchant. So swing by a local restaurant and grab a cocktail when you arrive!

The Glover Park Concert Series in Marietta opens the 2026 season on April 24th with Yacht Rock Schooner. 

Once a month, you can head to the Marietta Square for a FREE Friday night concert in Glover Park.

The series runs from April through September and usually takes place on the last Friday of the month this year. 

The concerts begin at 8 p.m.

Note that you can only use blankets or lawn chairs inside Glover Park. You may not lay down a tarp or any kind of plastic/vinyl ground cover. Also not permitted in the park: tables, tents, canopies, and umbrellas. 

If you want to bring a table, you can set it up in the street on North and East Park Square after 6 p.m., when the street is closed to traffic.

While the concerts are free, there are a limited number of tables that can be reserved for a fee. They sell out quickly.

The FREE concerts will take place outside Outrun Brewing, located in the heart of the Village at the corner of E. Mountain St. and Second St. 

Tunes by the Tracks takes place on Friday nights in May and June, and may return for a fall series — so stay tuned!

The music series features local indie artists. 

Bring a lawn chair, if you’d like. 
Outrun Brewing will be serving beer, there will be a food truck on site, and you’ll find find options within the Village as well. 

Concerts are 7 to 9 p.m. and take place rain or shine, but may be canceled during times of severe weather.

On Friday, June 12, 2026, the concert will take place as part of an extended event, featuring a World Cup kickoff party. 

From 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., you can enjoy watching two matches – Canada vs. Bosnia & Herzegovina at 3:00 p.m. and USA vs. Paraguay at 9:00 p.m.

This FREE community event will feature children’s activities, beverage stations and special giveaways throughout the day, including match tickets and tickets to see Lynyrd Skynyrd at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre.

The Gwinnett Summer Meals Program is a county-administered program, offering shelf-stable meals (breakfast and lunch) that are available for drive-up, curbside pickup at select locations.

The program runs from Tuesday, May 26 until Friday, July 31, 2026. 
Hours are Monday thru Friday, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., while supplies last. 

NOTE:
Keep in mind there may be holiday blackout dates — like Juneteenth (June 19th) and July 3rd (the federal Independence Day holiday).

Kids age 18 and younger are eligible to receive breakfast and/or lunch. 
Adults 19 or older who are enrolled in school programs for people with disabilities can also receive meals.

The meals are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, until supplies run out for the day.

The program runs from June 1st to July 24, 2026.

These are sit-down meals.
They take place at three Cobb County libraries.
Note that parents or caregivers must remain with their kids during the meals.

Be Active Gwinnett is hosting a series of pop-up recreational events in county parks during 2026. 
The events are known as Days of Play.
They are FREE and family-friendly. 
These are drop-in events, so you can stop by for as long as you want.

Colony Square is hosting FREE live musical performances in The Plaza, on the last Friday of each month from April to October in 2026.
The events go from 6 to 8 p.m. and take place in The Plaza.

In case of rain, concerts will be relocated to The Patio, the covered area between Politan Row and The Plaza. Unless there are dangerous weather conditions, the show will go on!

Seating is first-come, first-served. Bring a blanket or chairs.

Drinks will be available for purchase at the event. The onsite bar will open one hour prior to event start time.

No outside food or beverage is permitted, but takeout from the onsite restaurants is encouraged.

Colony Square is located in midtown Atlanta at 1197 Peachtree Street.

Kids Bowl Free is a family-friendly program that allows kids to bowl at no cost, all summer long. This is a great indoor option for days that are rainy or extra hot and humid.

Once your children are registered with the program, they can bowl two games a day for FREE, all summer long.

If you’d like your whole family to bowl together, you can purchase a Family Pass.
Passes start at $34.95 — a great value, as they include 2 games per person per day for up to four adults, for the whole season. 
Note: Prices & terms for the Family Pass are set by participating bowling centers (see the list below). 

When you sign your child up to bowl for free, you will see the option for the Family Pass. 
The pass can be used by parents, older siblings, babysitters, grandparents, etc. 

The individual bowling alleys decide on the age requirement for their location.
Some offer the free games to kids all the way to age 18, while others have a cutoff of 14 or 15.

All of the participating bowling centers include the summer months of June, July, and August.
A few run the program from April to October each year.

These concerts are FREE to attend.

From 6 to 10 p.m. on select Thursdays, you can enjoy this DJ and art event, which features:

• Restaurant specials
• Outdoor activities (axe throwing, etc.)
• Patio dancing
• Live deejays
• Art and performances

Alpharetta Food Truck Alley rolls around every fourth Thursday of the month!

Alpharetta’s Food Truck Alley will be back for the 2026 season! These food truck rallies feature live music each month and are FREE to attend — just bring your wallet for food and drink.

The events take place on fourth Thursdays of each month, from April through October.

The food trucks will be on site in downtown Alpharetta from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music starting at 6 p.m.

Each month’s lineup will feature up to 10 food trucks.

This is a family-friendly event, but you’ll have to leave the pets at home.

There will be limited seating available, so you may want to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.

Throughout the season, there will be pop-up activities sponsored by downtown Alpharetta’s local merchants and regional non-profits.

Parking: use the downtown parking lot on Roswell Street (at 37 Old Roswell Street), or the City Hall Parking Deck (2 Park Plaza).

Concerts go from 7 to 9 p.m.
Bring your blanket or lawn chairs.
You can visit one of the many restaurants located within the the Peachtree Corners Town Center and bring food to the Town Green.

You can park for FREE in the Town Center Parking Deck or on the street within the Town Center.

The kid-friendly films will run for 10 weeks, from June 7th to August 13th.
Tickets are just $3, for adults and children.

The films play Sunday through Thursday at Marcus Theatre locations.

The program runs from June through mid-August. 

Here’s how it works:
Each week, two movies are offered at the $1 price, from Monday thru Thursday, at 11 a.m.
It’s possible the start times may vary by location, but we clicked around a bit and everything we looked at was 11 a.m.
Both movies run on all days, so you have a choice.
You could also see both films over two days.

The films are always rated G or PG.

The Aurora Cineplex in Roswell has announced its Summer Movie Deal for 2026 — just $3 per person for family-friendly movies. 

Ten classic family films will play on weekdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. 
There will be a different film each week for 10 weeks, from May 22 to July 30, 2026. 

Each film opens on a Friday, then plays again Monday through Thursday. 
The schedule is below. 

Plus, you can add a Popcorn Snack Pack for $6.00 (includes a free refill!) 

Add a Game of Mini Golf for $6.00 and play after the film. 

Tickets are available on a walk-up basis or on Fandango. There’s also an Aurora mobile app where you can purchase tickets.

The early Independence Day celebration takes place on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at West Walton Park, starting at 6 p.m.

There will be games and activities for the kids, food vendors on site, and a DJ providing music until the headline band — Bad Medicine — takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.
The fireworks follow the concert.

Please park at First Baptist Church of Loganville and walk over — OR park at Meridian Community Center and ride the FREE shuttle.
