The High Museum of Art is one of Atlanta’s most popular attractions. It has more than 15,000 works of art in its permanent collection, and sponsors special exhibits several times a year.

With so many reasons to visit often, Atlantans are always looking for admission deals, coupon codes, and ticket discounts for the High Museum.

Did you know…

The Woodruff Arts Center campus is the permanent home of a Rodin sculpture cast in bronze. The Shade was donated by the French government as a memorial, in honor of 106 art patrons from Atlanta who died in a 1962 plane crash at Orly Field near Paris.

The statue was cast in bronze in 1968, from Rodin’s original 1880 mold. The life-sized figure stands on an inscribed granite block, and is encircled by a low wall containing the names of the Atlanta Art Association members who lost their lives on that June day.

This is public art, meant for everyone to enjoy.
The next time you find yourself on Peachtree Street in front of the Arts Center, take a moment to visit this famous work by Auguste Rodin.

High Museum discounts & free admission days

NEW! Get a Museum Pass for just $48 for a year

If you love going to the High, this is a deal that you just can’t beat.
You can purchase the new Museum Pass for just $48.
NOTE that the option to pay it as $4 a month for 12 months has been discontinued.

The digital pass gives you unlimited FREE admission to the museum’s permanent collection and most special exhibits. It also includes FREE access to daytime programs like Toddler Thursdays as well.

This is even cheaper than the $83 individual membership — although a membership comes with other perks, like free parking, discount at the Museum Store, and access to special events.
Note that the pass will automatically renew and at $48 each year until you cancel it.

Free admission for military every day

The High Museum offers FREE admission for all military personnel (active and veteran status), PLUS one guest — for a total of two free tickets per household. This is a really good deal. Most military freebies we see only include one person.

The offer is good during regular museum hours, on a walk-up basis — but it does NOT include the Obama Portrait Tour exhibit, which requires a special timed ticket (see the info below).

FREE parking in the Woodruff Arts Center deck is also available for military.
You’ll need proof of service, of course. More info here

You may also be interested in the Blue Star Museum program, which offers FREE admission to active military families during the summer months each year.

Free admission on Second Sundays each month

NOTE: On Sunday, Sept, 16, 2025, Second Sundays will include special programming for Grandparents Day.

On Second Sundays of each month at The High Museum of Art, museum admission is free from noon until 5:00 p.m. There is also special programming that might include live performances and art-making activities.

It’s a good idea to reserve your free tickets in advance, on the High website. 
You can also take your chances on a walk-up admission.

Your ticket is good all day, and you don’t have to reserve a specific time slot. You may also be able to just show up at the museum.

Just go to the ticketing page and pull up the date of a second Sunday. You’ll see the price is listed as $0.00. You can choose the number of tickets you need to reserve for your group.

Free admission on third Wednesdays thru Access For All

Starting January 17, 2024, the High Museum will launch a new free admission day — on the third Wednesday of each month.
Note that pre-registration is required.

This new Access For All program not only includes free museum admission, but also a number of dynamic programs, including:

• Open studio workshops and craft-making classes
• Gallery conversations and tours
• Jazz and other live performances
• Movement workshops — explore Qigong and other traditions

This program is currently funded through January of 2027.

Free admission monthly through the Museums on Us program

That credit or debit card in your wallet just might gain you FREE admission to the High Museum of Art once a month, through the Museums On Us program.

The program allows qualified card holders to visit certain museums for free on one weekend per month — including a Saturday and Sunday. It’s usually the first weekend of the month, unless the first weekend is split over two different calendar months (for example Saturday is on Jan. 30th and Sunday is on Feb. 1st).

The qualifying cards include credit/debit cards from Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.

Note that only the cardholder gets a free ticket.  If you’re taking your family, regular prices apply to non-cardholders. The program also excludes special events, special exhibitions, and ticketed shows.

To redeem the offer, just take your qualifying Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card AND a photo ID to the museum with you for free entrance.

Free Teacher Appreciation Days

The FREE Teacher Appreciation Days are scheduled somewhat irregularly. You can check for upcoming educator events here.
Educators are admitted free and may bring one free guest. School ID required.

More for your buck on First Fridays

The popular First Fridays program doesn’t discount admission prices — instead, it adds MORE to what you get for the price of a ticket, to sweeten the deal. This event happens on the first Friday of each month, from 6 to 9 p.m.

There is generally a limited cash bar, music performances, gallery talks, and special activities or workshops that follow a monthly theme. To see the special programming planned for the current First Friday event, check the High Museum’s calendar page.

Getting there & parking

The High Museum of Art is located at 1280 Peachtree St., in the heart of Atlanta’s busy Midtown area. If you drive, you can park in the attached parking deck, but it is pricey — usually a minimum of $15.

Considering the cost of parking, it often makes sense to take Uber or Lyft to get to the High Museum.

There’s also MARTA. With the Arts Center Station right across the street from the back of the Woodruff Arts Center campus, this is one of the simpler venues to get to on the train.

MARTA has a handy guide for getting to the High Museum.

Directions with MARTA

• Take any red and gold line train to the Arts Center MARTA station.
• Exit the train and follow the signs pointing to Arts Center Way, which requires going up three levels (avoid exiting via West Peachtree Street).
• Once you’ve reached street level, the High is just across the street. You’ll find a stairway and elevator that lead directly to the courtyard.

Note: If you are commuting from the blue or green line, you have to travel to the Five Points MARTA station and transfer to the first northbound train.

Live Nation has announced a special promotion — the $30 Summer of Live sale, which offers discounted tickets to many shows in select amphitheaters across the U.S. and Canada.

Several metro Atlanta venues are included in the sale, and we have a full list of the discounted show options just below.

The $30 tickets are on sale from April 29 at 10 a.m. to May 7, 2026.
There are a couple of ways to get early access to the sale, so see the details below to see if you’re eligible. 

There are no added fees, but you’ll pay regular sales tax.

To find a show:
You can filter your search on LiveNation.com/SummerOfLive by participating events, venues, or artists.
While on the website, you can also set the location to the closest city and the site will refresh to only include participating shows nearby. 

Once you’ve selected a show, just look for the ticket type labeled “$30 Summer of Live,” then add the ticket(s) your cart, and proceed to checkout.

Atlanta Streets Alive

Cool off at a splash pad or sprayground

The splash pads and spraygrounds in Atlanta are a fun way for kids to cool off and play in the water, without going to a pool. No matter where you live in metro Atlanta, there is most likely a park with a water feature near you — and most of them are FREE.

The splash pads and spraygrounds in Atlanta are a fun way for kids to cool off and play in the water, without going to a pool. No matter where you live in metro Atlanta, there is most likely a park with a water feature near you — and most of them are FREE. (Some have a small admission fee for kids.)

The splash pad season starts in early May and goes through September at most locations.
Hours vary by location, but a typical schedule is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Here’s a handy of list — organized by county — of the best water features for free and cheap fun. They include splash pads, spraygrounds, fountains, and wading pools.

TIP: Don’t forget a towel and a change for the kiddos, and a cool drink for yourself!

Remember a few basic safety rules when you have fun in splash pads and spraygrounds this summer — no glass containers, have swim diapers on the little ones, and consider keeping waterproof sandals on your kids.

Rodney Cook Sr. Park is a 16-acre green space located in the Vine City neighborhood on Atlanta’s west side. This is a simple fountain-style splash pad, with water jets coming up from below. You’ll also find a large playground with rock climbing wall.

This splash pad is officially part of Adams Park Pool, and NOT one of city’s 7 free splash pads.
Splash Island has everything from fountains to water cannons to keep the kids soaked this summer. In the past, there has been a $5 fee, although there were free swim hours at designated times. The fee was waived last year when the pools reopened after the pandemic hiatus. We have no current info for 2023. 

Fountain of Rings at Centennial Olympic Park

Play in the fountain at Centennial Park! As one of the most recognized and photographed landmarks in Georgia, the Fountain of Rings is familiar to everyone.

Centennial Olympic Park is currently open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The fountain runs most of the year, and we’ve seen tourists playing in it late in the fall. It’s probably the largest de facto sprayground in the Southeast, laid out as the five rings of the Olympic logo in a sunken brick plaza.

This new splash pad features a colorful soft surface (no concrete!), and kids can use buttons to activate the spray features. There is also a wading pool.
The water play area is surrounded by seating for parents, and a green space for relaxing. There’s also a new pavilion nearby, with ceiling fans and picnic tables.

Pool admission is $3 per child and $5 per adult.
This brand new splash pad just opened in 2023!  It features a zero-depth area with multiple spray features, plus a one-foot-deep wading pool with a slide. There is also a pool house, including a changing area with showers.

The show runs from Friday May 8 to Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Jim Miller Park in Marietta.

The Fair includes more than 40 midway rides, plus all your favorite carnival foods: funnel cakes, ice cream, corn dogs, candy apples, burgers, fries, elephant ears, sausage sandwiches, fried Oreos, sno-cones, and more.

We don’t have discount codes this year, but prices for ride wristbands and parking are lower this year than in 2025.

Duluth has a liberal alcohol policy with an open container policy.
During events, you can carry an alcoholic beverage with you, as long as it was purchased from licensed downtown merchant. So swing by a local restaurant and grab a cocktail when you arrive!

About the Boardwalk at Town Center

The Boardwalk is a new key component of the Johns Creek Town Center.

The 20-acre property is located adjacent to City Hall and is bordered by Medlock Bridge Road, stretching between Johns Creek Parkway and East Johns Crossing.  

The Boardwalk at Town Center features a 15-foot wide elevated trail, bandshell and amphitheater, terraced seating, pond overlooks, and pedestrian plazas.

Brookhaven Food Truck Fridays is back in 2026, replacing the former Wednesday night food truck events of the past.

The season is limited this year.
There are just three events scheduled, on second Fridays of the month, from April to June.
Admission to the event is FREE.
Bring your wallet for food and drink.

The location is the north end of Blackburn Park, near the picnic pavilion and the new playground.
Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. 

This is truly an evening’s worth of entertainment.
You can expect several food trucks to choose from, a beer and wine tent, and live music. 

There is also a bounce house, face painting, bubbles and other activities for children — all FREE. 

Pets are welcome, but must remain leashed.

There is some seating available in the picnic pavilion, but you’re also encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

The Chastain Park Spring Arts Festival is back for another year!
It takes place on May 9 and 10, 2026.

The festival puts a focus on local artists (from Atlanta and other parts of Georgia) and healthy food choices. It is FREE to attend, and dogs on a leash are welcome.

The art market features up to 200 artisans, working in media that includes paint, photography, metal, leather, glass, silver, jewelry, ceramics, and more. There will be live art demonstrations as well as artisanal items for sale. You can get a head start on your holiday gift shopping!

There will be also be a children’s area, local gourmet food and drink, and acoustic musical performances.

There will be live music, acoustic only (out of courtesy to the park’s neighbors).

If you need GPS directions to Chastain Park, use 4469 Stella Drive, Atlanta 30327. (This is not a mailing address — just a locator!)

The festival takes place near the Chastain Park amphiteatre.

Please follow the signs to designated parking areas within the park. There is NO parking in the residential neighborhoods around the park, and the Atlanta Police will be enforcing this restriction.

Snellville will host its annual Beach Blast on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from noon to 5 p.m. 
This is the last time the city will put on this event, citing the tremendous amount of logistics and heavy machinery needed to make this event happen. 

It happens on the Towne Green in front of City Hall, as Oak Road is transformed into a beach paradise with 70 tons of soft white sand. 

The event is FREE to attend. 
Enjoy great music, fun, and games, including hula hoop contests, sack races, water balloon contests, and more.
Bring your lawn chairs or blankets — and your beach toys. 

DJ Lee will spin tunes from noon to 3 p.m.
The Gold Standard Band will take the stage at 3 p.m., performing beach music. 

The first 100 kids to check in at the volunteer tent will receive either a beach ball or a bottle of bubbles.

The All-Day Kids Zone Activity Armband is $15 and includes:

80-foot Inflatable Obstacle Course

The annual Sweet Auburn Springfest takes place over Mother’s Day Weekend, May 9 and 10, 2026. This is the largest FREE street festival in Atlanta. It promises fun, food, and entertainment for the whole family.

Sweet Auburn Springfest is spread out over the historic Auburn Avenue district in downtown Atlanta.

The Event will take place on John Wesley Dobbs (between Piedmont and Hilliard Streets); and on Bell street, Fort Street, and Hilliard Street  between John Wesley Dobbs and Auburn Ave.

Public transportation is highly recommended.

There is a kids area with a giant slide and climbing wall, as well as several musical stages with live entertainment.

Get your lanterns ready for the Sandy Springs 2026 Take it to the River Lantern Parade!
This community event takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026 — which gives you a bit of time to pick up a lantern kit and customize your lantern.

Everyone is welcome to walk in the parade, which kicks off at Sandy Springs Police Headquarters and Municipal Court Complex, located at 620 Morgan Falls Road. NOTE that this is not the City Springs district. 

The parade steps off at 8:15 p.m. 
Line up begins at 8 p.m. 

Come early for pre-parade parade activities in a NEW location at the Sandy Springs Municipal Complex in 2026.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. you can enjoy food trucks, entertainment, and children’s activities — details below.

Pre-Parade Block Party

Before the parade begins, families gather to eat, dance, and have fun!
Before the sun sets, you can enjoy a live DJ and food trucks, at the Sandy Springs Municipal Complex. 

Pre-parade activities begin at 6:00 p.m. and continue until parade step off at 8:15 p.m.
There will also be a balloon artist, bubble station, and a dance performance.

Parking & shuttles

All vehicles must park at the designated lot, which is yet to be announced.

• All vehicles must park at 7840 Roswell Road 
• Walk (or ride the shuttle) to the Pre-Parade Party. The walk from Parking to the Pre-Parade Party is about 10 minutes (0.4 miles) along a flat sidewalk
• Even if you are watching the parade, you will need to walk (or ride the shuttle) to the Party. From there, walk along Morgan Falls Road to find a viewing location. 
• Shuttles run between Parking and the Pre-Parade Party until parade line-up (6 – 8 pm). 
• Parade steps-off at the Pre-Parade Party (Sandy Springs Municipal Complex), walks along Morgan Falls Rd, and ends at Morgan Falls Overlook Park. The parade route is 1 mile, downhill. Parade line-up is at 8 pm, and step-off is at 8:30 pm.  
• After the parade, shuttles only run from Overlook Park back to Parking (9-11pm). Staying for the parade? Plan to walk to Overlook Park or back to Parking. 
• If you choose to walk from Overlook Park back to Parking (7840 Roswell Rd), you’ll get your steps in! It is 1.5 miles back, uphill. However, there is sidewalk and streetlights throughout the entire route. 

Make a lantern

Pick up a lantern kit, download a free lantern template, or design your own.   There are lots of easy lantern-making ideas and free downloadable lantern prints at Chantelle’s Lantern Ideas & Inspiration page! 

Note that only LED battery powered lights are allowed — no flames.

The events take place in Olde Town on Railroad Street on select dates from April to July.

The show will feature the rarest classic cars and bikes from the Atlanta area, and those with a vehicle to show may enter a raffle for the chance to win amazing prizes.

They take place at the Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater — located within The Park at City Center, in downtown Woodstock.

Concerts start at 7:30 p.m. and may include an opening act, which means the main act starts at 8:30 p.m.

Food vendors begin serving between 5 and 6 p.m.

Concerts are general admission.

No tables, blankets, or tarps allowed (they may damage the grass).

You can set up your chairs starting at 6 a.m. on the day before the concert.
This is new — and the city states it will make things easier for staff and visitors.

You’ll find a kids area on the upper level of the park, near the gazebo. Activities there may include inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, and more.

• Get started. Use your in-app digital club pass to work out at your home club for FREE from June 1 to Aug. 31, 2026. (Teens can only work out at the Planet Fitness location where they signed up.)

NOTE: Teens under the age of 18 must register with a parent or guardian. However, once completely registered (including signing the waiver), teens can work out alone.

For just $5, you can see a new release movie in a special advance screening, before it goes into wide release.
Yep, that’s just five bucks to see a new movie!

But there’s a catch — Regal can’t tell you which movie will be showing, due to contractual agreements with the studios. You have to go to the theater, buy a ticket, and then wait to see what comes up on the screen.

Yeah, it’s a little weird.
