The High Museum of Art is not only a popular attraction in Atlanta, it’s an organization that is committed to making the arts accessible to everyone in the community, regardless of income or demographics.

For many years now, the High Museum has opened its doors to all with a monthly FREE admission program, known as Second Sundays. The High also participates in Bank of America’s Museums on Us program, which allows any BOA cardholder to visit for free on the first weekend of each month.

Now, the High Museum is launching Access for All, a new day of FREE admission that features special programming on a drop-in basis. The program will kick off on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
It will then take place on  the third Wednesday of each month.

Access for All is currently funded through 2026, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to experience it!

While anyone can participate, pre-registration is currently required.

Visitors are free to browse and explore the galleries on their own, but are also encouraged to join in a conversation or even create art in a free workshop. The High Museum invites you to come as you are and stay as long as you’d like. (Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

The City of Chamblee now hosts a brand new spring arts festival, inside the Perimeter! The annual Chamblee Arts Fest takes place on Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th, 2026.

This is a street festival, with booths lining Peachtree Road in downtown Chamblee, from the MARTA Station to the intersection of American Way. (The streets will be closed to traffic.)

A Kid Zone will feature inflatable bounce houses.

This means you can get there on MARTA, and when you step off your train at Chamblee Station, the festival is just steps away!

Over 100 artisans and makers will be on site.
There will also be food trucks with festival cuisine, strolling musicians, and more.

Getting to downtown Chamblee

If you live anywhere on the Gold Line, MARTA is a no-brainer.
Get off at Chamblee Station, then follow the signs pointing to the buses (not to Chamblee Tucker Rd) to exit the platform. In the middle of the station, one level below, you’ll find a short covered walkway that is marked Peachtree Rd. This is the shortest walk to the festival. 

NEW open container policy!

Chamblee becomes the latest municipality in the Atlanta metro area to allow outdoor alcohol consumption in its entertainment district!

Starting June 1, 2023, you can purchase alcohol from a licensed establishment in downtown Chamblee and carry it with you, as long as you adhere to the ordinance guidelines.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Hours for outdoor alcohol consumption are 9 a.m to 10 p.m.
• Open containers are prohibited outside those hours.
• You still must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol.
• Alcohol-licensed restaurants will dispense your drink in a clearly marked plastic cup.
• Beer and wine cannot exceed 16 fluid ounces; for distilled spirits it’s 12 ounces.
• You cannot bring your own alcohol to the city for open container consumption.

Gwinnett County has announced the dates for its monthly food distributions, for all of 2026.
These events rotate among the Gwinnett parks, and are designed as drive-thru events.
The food will be placed in your car for you. 

No identification is required. 
Each event begins at 3 p.m. 

Fresh produce and shelf-stable foods are provided at these events. 

Supplies are given away on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. 
Keep in mind that cars may begin lining up early.

Roswell will again host its FREE monthly Alive in Roswell street festival, as a monthly event. 

The festivals take place on the third Thursday of each month, from 5 to 9 p.m., from April through October. 

Festival events are spread over historic Canton Street, East Alley, Roswell Town Square, and the grounds of Roswell City Hall.

You can park for free at Roswell City Hall.
In past years, a free shuttle service runs between the parking lot at Roswell City Hall and the Town Square.

The festival features live bands, food trucks, interactive vendors, and kids’ games and entertainment.

The local shops and restaurants around downtown Roswell also participate.

The monthly entertainment schedule is typically available online as the events get closer.

The Big Shanty Festival in downtown Kennesaw is scheduled for the weekend of April 18 and 19, 2026. 

According to a press release, the Big Shanty Festival will include:

• Over 250 vendor booths featuring arts and crafts
• 25 food booths
• an entertainment stage with live music
• live acoustic music in the new food court
• Note that the parade has been canceled this year

Festival hours:
• Saturday — 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Sunday — noon to 5:00 p.m.
Festival admission and live entertainment is FREE

As always, the festival will take place in downtown Kennesaw.

Beginning with the 2026 season, the Atlanta Braves have taken full control of their local broadcasts under a new system called BravesVision.

For Atlanta‑area fans, the biggest changes involve where you watch baseball games and how much you pay — PLUS the elimination of local blackout dates. 

For most people in metro Atlanta, BravesVision simplifies things:

• If you still have cable or satellite, you’ll watch BravesVision on your provider’s platform once the channel deals are finalized.
• If you’re a cord-cutter who streams the games, Braves.TV is your new home for Braves baseball.
• If you live outside the Braves’ territory, MLB.TV remains your option.
• The biggest win is the removal of local blackouts, which have frustrated Atlanta fans for years.

If you’ve been wondering where to watch, how streaming works, or what it’s going to cost, here’s a straightforward breakdown of the key points.

What is BravesVision?

BravesVision is the Braves’ new in‑house broadcast operation.

Instead of relying on a regional sports network, the team will now produce and distribute more than 140 regular‑season games, plus pre‑ and post‑game programming.

These are the same locally distributed games you’re used to — just under a new name and controlled directly by the team.

The Braves are partnering with cable, satellite, and streaming providers to carry BravesVision as a traditional TV channel — known as Braves.TV. Those agreements are still being finalized, and the team will announce channel lineups as deals are completed.

Is BravesVision a streaming service?

The biggest shift for fans is the launch of Braves.TV, a new streaming service created by MLB specifically for BravesVision broadcasts. This is the option most Atlanta-area cord‑cutters will use.

Here’s what Braves.TV offers:

• Live streaming of all locally distributed Braves games that aren’t nationally exclusive.
• No local blackouts for in‑market subscribers.
• On‑demand replays.
• Access at home or on-the-go within the Braves’ six‑state territory.

Braves.TV is available for a fee and can be watched on most devices, including phones, tablets, smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, PlayStation, and Xbox.

How much does BravesVision cost?

There are two main price points, depending on how you watch.

1. Braves.TV (in‑market streaming)
• $99.99 for the full season
• $19.99 per month 
If you’re a season ticket holder, you can receive up to a 30% discount on the season package.

2. Cable or satellite TV
If your current provider carries BravesVision, you can watch games the same way you always have.
Pricing depends on your TV package, not on the Braves.
***The team has finalized distribution deals with 34 cable, satellite, and streaming services — we have the full list at the bottom of the page. 

3. Out‑of‑market options
If you live outside the Braves’ home territory, BravesVision is not the product you’ll use. Instead, you’ll subscribe to MLB.TV, which costs:
• $149.99 per season or
• $29.99 per month
You can also bundle Braves.TV with MLB.TV for $199.99 per season if you want access to every MLB team.

FREE trial! 
There is a 7-day free trial available, but you must enter your payment info to access it. 
And of course, it will auto-bill you for the full season at $99.99 if you don’t cancel within the 7-day period — so be careful!

Military discount!
Verified military customers receive a 35% discount on the full season price.

What about blackouts?

For Atlanta‑area fans, this is one of the biggest advantages!

Under the former blackout rules, in-market viewers could not use MLB.TV to stream the live regional games.

But Braves.TV has no local blackouts for in‑market subscribers.

You can stream every locally distributed Braves game within the Braves’ territory — which includes Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and western North Carolina. (See the map of the coverage area at the bottom of the page.)

Note that nationally-exclusive games (ESPN, FOX, Apple TV+, etc.) still follow league rules for blackouts. 

Can I watch BravesVision for free?

Well, yes and no. 

A select number of games will air for FREE on Gray Media stations across the Southeast. 
Gray Media’s flagship station in Atlanta is WANF (channel 46), branded as Atlanta News First. 

Games broadcast on a Gray Media station like Channel 46 are available over-the-air with a standard antenna, and offer a no‑cost option for fans who want occasional access without a subscription.

Did you know…

The Woodruff Arts Center campus is the permanent home of a Rodin sculpture cast in bronze. The Shade was donated by the French government as a memorial, in honor of 106 art patrons from Atlanta who died in a 1962 plane crash at Orly Field near Paris.

The statue was cast in bronze in 1968, from Rodin’s original 1880 mold. The life-sized figure stands on an inscribed granite block, and is encircled by a low wall containing the names of the Atlanta Art Association members who lost their lives on that June day.

This is public art, meant for everyone to enjoy.
The next time you find yourself on Peachtree Street in front of the Arts Center, take a moment to visit this famous work by Auguste Rodin.

NEW! Get a Museum Pass for just $48 for a year

If you love going to the High, this is a deal that you just can’t beat.
You can purchase the new Museum Pass for just $48.
NOTE that the option to pay it as $4 a month for 12 months has been discontinued.

The digital pass gives you unlimited FREE admission to the museum’s permanent collection and most special exhibits. It also includes FREE access to daytime programs like Toddler Thursdays as well.

This is even cheaper than the $83 individual membership — although a membership comes with other perks, like free parking, discount at the Museum Store, and access to special events.
Note that the pass will automatically renew and at $48 each year until you cancel it.

Free admission for military every day

The High Museum offers FREE admission for all military personnel (active and veteran status), PLUS one guest — for a total of two free tickets per household. This is a really good deal. Most military freebies we see only include one person.

The offer is good during regular museum hours, on a walk-up basis — but it does NOT include the Obama Portrait Tour exhibit, which requires a special timed ticket (see the info below).

FREE parking in the Woodruff Arts Center deck is also available for military.
You’ll need proof of service, of course. More info here

Free admission on Second Sundays each month

NOTE: On Sunday, Sept, 16, 2025, Second Sundays will include special programming for Grandparents Day.

On Second Sundays of each month at The High Museum of Art, museum admission is free from noon until 5:00 p.m. There is also special programming that might include live performances and art-making activities.

It’s a good idea to reserve your free tickets in advance, on the High website. 
You can also take your chances on a walk-up admission.

Your ticket is good all day, and you don’t have to reserve a specific time slot. You may also be able to just show up at the museum.

Just go to the ticketing page and pull up the date of a second Sunday. You’ll see the price is listed as $0.00. You can choose the number of tickets you need to reserve for your group.

Free admission on third Wednesdays thru Access For All

Starting January 17, 2024, the High Museum will launch a new free admission day — on the third Wednesday of each month.
Note that pre-registration is required.

This new Access For All program not only includes free museum admission, but also a number of dynamic programs, including:

• Open studio workshops and craft-making classes
• Gallery conversations and tours
• Jazz and other live performances
• Movement workshops — explore Qigong and other traditions

This program is currently funded through January of 2027.

Free admission monthly through the Museums on Us program

That credit or debit card in your wallet just might gain you FREE admission to the High Museum of Art once a month, through the Museums On Us program.

The program allows qualified card holders to visit certain museums for free on one weekend per month — including a Saturday and Sunday. It’s usually the first weekend of the month, unless the first weekend is split over two different calendar months (for example Saturday is on Jan. 30th and Sunday is on Feb. 1st).

The qualifying cards include credit/debit cards from Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.

Note that only the cardholder gets a free ticket.  If you’re taking your family, regular prices apply to non-cardholders. The program also excludes special events, special exhibitions, and ticketed shows.

To redeem the offer, just take your qualifying Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card AND a photo ID to the museum with you for free entrance.

Free Teacher Appreciation Days

The FREE Teacher Appreciation Days are scheduled somewhat irregularly. You can check for upcoming educator events here.
Educators are admitted free and may bring one free guest. School ID required.

More for your buck on First Fridays

The popular First Fridays program doesn’t discount admission prices — instead, it adds MORE to what you get for the price of a ticket, to sweeten the deal. This event happens on the first Friday of each month, from 6 to 9 p.m.

There is generally a limited cash bar, music performances, gallery talks, and special activities or workshops that follow a monthly theme. To see the special programming planned for the current First Friday event, check the High Museum’s calendar page.

Getting there & parking

The High Museum of Art is located at 1280 Peachtree St., in the heart of Atlanta’s busy Midtown area. If you drive, you can park in the attached parking deck, but it is pricey — usually a minimum of $15.

Considering the cost of parking, it often makes sense to take Uber or Lyft to get to the High Museum.

There’s also MARTA. With the Arts Center Station right across the street from the back of the Woodruff Arts Center campus, this is one of the simpler venues to get to on the train.

MARTA has a handy guide for getting to the High Museum.

Directions with MARTA

• Take any red and gold line train to the Arts Center MARTA station.
• Exit the train and follow the signs pointing to Arts Center Way, which requires going up three levels (avoid exiting via West Peachtree Street).
• Once you’ve reached street level, the High is just across the street. You’ll find a stairway and elevator that lead directly to the courtyard.

Note: If you are commuting from the blue or green line, you have to travel to the Five Points MARTA station and transfer to the first northbound train.

Avondale Estates will once again host its Weekend Wind Down concerts on the Town Green. These FREE concert events take place on select dates this year, and the schedule is below.

The dates are mostly 2nd Sundays — except for May and June.

Cycle Gear is hosting its Ride With Us ride day experience on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

The event is open to anyone age 16 or older. 

This event lets you try out riding a motorcycle for FREE, in a safe, controlled environment, with certified coaches. 

You don’t need any experience to participate. 
The motorcycle and riding gear are provided for you.

The monthly Caffeine & Octane car show is back for 2026. The huge car show event is FREE to attend, either as an exhibitor or spectator.

Caffeine and Octane takes place at Town Center at Cobb , in the food court parking lot— NOT at Perimeter Mall, as in the past (prior to August 2022).
Up to 2,000 cars and trucks are on display on the first Sunday of each month, rain or shine, from 8 to 11 a.m.

Any make or model can be exhibited, so you never know what to expect. It is a very inclusive event.

Want to show off your vehicle? Spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.

According the Facebook event page, there’s also a Caffeine and Octane app that you can download. You can even test your car knowledge, with the game MakeModel. Think you know cars? Test your level of savviness with the new game!

Atlanta Fair, at old Turner Field, is the city’s only urban fair!

Welcome back to the fair! The Atlanta Fair returns to Old Turner Field for its annual spring run.

Of course, we’ll keep you updated with all the ride deals and reduced admission days — and we hope to host another ticket giveaway while the fair is in town. 

This is Georgia’s only urban fair, taking place at the Old Turner Field’s Gray Lot (across from the GA Panthers’ stadium). If you need an address for your GPS, you can use 688 Central Ave SW, Atlanta, GA 30315

The Atlanta Fair is in town a full five weeks!
It is scheduled to run from Friday, March 6 thru Sunday, April 12, 2026. 

You’ll find plenty of exciting rides and your favorite carnival cuisine — from cotton candy and funnel cakes to Polish Sausage with peppers and onions.

In previous years, there has been nightly entertainment, like concerts, dance troupes, and a Houdini-style escape artist. We’ll update when that info becomes available for this year’s Atlanta Fair.

• Unlimited ride wristbands are $35. They must be used on the day they are purchased.

NOTE: Approved clear bag policy

According to the Atlanta Fair policies web page, only certain types of clear bags will be allowed, for enhanced security at the fair.

The new policy seems surprisingly restrictive, and limits you to to one of the following:
Clear plastic purses, tote bags, etc. that are no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″
1-gallon clear plastic freezer bag
small clutch purse up to 4.5″ x 6.5″ (apparently doesn’t need to be clear?)

If you need to bring a diaper bag or a medically necessary item, you’ll go through an inspection and your item will be tagged to let security know you’ve been cleared.

You can not bring a clear backpack or clear oversized tote.
No tinted or patterned plastic bags will be allowed.

Know before you go…

The youth attendance policy states that n one under the age of 17 will be allowed entrance unless accompanied by a parent or an adult over 21.

Parking is available for an extra fee at the lots around Turner Field.

Repticon returns to the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville for two days: Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, 2026.

During Repticon, you can see many types of reptiles up close, during live animal encounters. Some exhibitors may let you handle the animals.

NOTE that the 2026 tickets have not yet gone on sale — but will be online soon.

This family-oriented, fun-filled event lets you learn about animals not normally seen in local pet stores. You can even shop for a new family pet among the hundreds of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, spiders, and small exotic animals on site.

The Acworth Art Fest is back for 2026!
This has always traditionally been a vibrant, two-day celebration in Cobb County. Admission is FREE.

This year’s event will take place on April 11 and 12, 2026, along Main Street in Acworth’s historic downtown business district.

Over 65 artisans from all over the country will have booths at the festival, selling paintings, pottery, metalwork, folk art, ceramics, art glass, jewelry, yard art, and more.

FESTIVAL HOURS:

• Saturday — 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Sunday — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a pet-friendly event — dogs are welcome, but must be leashed.

It’s also family-friendly, with a Kidz Zone that features face painting, balloon art, and fun activities.

An outdoor food court will supplement Acworth’s own downtown restaurants.

There will be ATMS on site, along with a first-aid station, a lost-and-found, and plenty of restaurants. The festival organizers have you covered!

Dogwood Festival 2023, Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Dogwood Festival Piedmont Park

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival is back at Piedmont Park for 2026, right on schedule this April. Did you know this is the third oldest fine arts festival in the country, and the longest running festival in Atlanta? 
It’s now in its 90th year!

The festival opens at noon on Friday, April 10th, and runs through Sunday, April 12th, 2026.

There’s a major change for  the festival this year — it is no longer free, but is now a ticketed event. 
This was necessary to keep our iconic Dogwood Festival up and running, according to the organizers.

Concerts are FREE with your ticketed admission. 

How does ticketing work?

You can buy a ticket in advance or at the gate.

Advance-purchase tickets include access to the Express Lane – you’ll bypass the line of people paying on-site. 

Tickets include access to all festival features except the Atlanta Dogwood Festival Mimosa 5K and Party in the Park VIP Experience, which have separate ticket requirements. 

This is your chance to have a stake in keeping this annual spring tradition alive!

Know before you go

Due to a city ordinance, no dogs (other than service animals) are allowed in Piedmont Park during the festival. PLEASE do not bring your pet and expect an exception.

There is no smoking in Piedmont Park.

You may not bring outside food or drink into the festival, and no coolers are allowed. You can bring lawn chairs, but no tents or umbrellas.

There are porta-potties and ATMs on site.

Atlanta Police will be strictly enforcing parking ordinances around Piedmont Park, so leave the car at home if at all possible! See the section below for details about MARTA, shuttle service, and parking options.

As always, the highlight of the festival is the Artist Market — one of the largest and most diverse juried arts festivals in the country.

More than 260 artists from all over the country will exhibit and sell works in 12 categories, including: glass, clay, wood, paintings, photography, sculpture, metal arts, jewelry, leather, and more.

Mimosa 5K and Kids’ Mini-Mosa

This 5K run is an annual tradition and a Peachtree Road Race qualifier. It starts on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. The route follows midtown streets before ending up back in the park for a mimosa toast.

The registration fee includes a t-shirt and a mimosa (ONLY for participants age 21+).

The registration fee is non-refundable. This is a rain or shine event.

Party in the Park VIP experience in 2026

Party in the Park offers ticket holders the chance to upgrade their festival attendance with seating, private bathrooms, a private bar, lunch from the Loaded Burger/Loaded Taco food truck and more, all with a perfect view of the Coca-Cola Main Stage.

The Party takes place on Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m.

Getting there and parking

If you don’t want to be towed or ticketed, PLEASE don’t park illegally.
You can pay in advance for guaranteed reserved parking — details here.

But your best bet is to leave the car at home and take MARTA to the festival.

It’s an easy  15 to 20 minute walk to Piedmont Park from either Arts Center Station or Midtown Station. Which station you choose to exit at depends on which side of the festival you want to hit up first (Midtown is closer to the Midway rides, while Arts Center is closer to the Artist Market).

You can park your car for FREE at the following rail stations:

The Flying Biscuit’s Midtown location is celebrating its 23rd anniversary with a special offer. 

On Wednesday, April 15th and Thursday, April 16, 2026, you can get the famous High Flyer Breakfast for just $7, all day long. 

The special is limited to one per person.
So you can’t eat one on-site and take another one home with you.

It’s valid for dine-in and carry-out — but is NOT available on third-party delivery or online orders. 

The High Flyer is typically $16 to $18, depending on location, so this is a great deal. 

The deal was announced in a Facebook post. 

Remember, this is the Midtown location only! 
Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on these dates, according to the website. 
You may want to avoid peak hours. There was a similar offer last month in Sandy Springs, and the pace was mobbed at lunch time.

FREE Movie Mondays at Norcross Cultural Arts Center

Chase away those Monday blues with a FREE movie!
The second and fourth Mondays of each month are MOVIE MONDAYS in Norcross.

The free screenings take place at the Cultural Arts & Community Center, located at 10 College Street in the downtown Norcross business district.

The movies are a mix of classics and current films, shown both at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

There is usually free popcorn and water available, and you’re welcome to bring snacks, treats, or a brown bag meal.

We’ll update this page as titles are scheduled and the info becomes available to us.

Be Active Gwinnett is hosting a series of pop-up recreational events in county parks during 2026, from March through May. 
In past years, there has also been a fall series, and we’ll update the schedule below if the events return this fall. 

The events are known as Days of Play.
They are FREE and family-friendly. 
These are drop-in events, so you can stop by for as long as you want. 

Events are scheduled in three Gwinnett parks, in Norcross, Lilburn, Duluth, and Lawrenceville.

For just $5, you can see a new release movie in a special advance screening, before it goes into wide release.
Yep, that’s just five bucks to see a new movie!

But there’s a catch — Regal can’t tell you which movie will be showing, due to contractual agreements with the studios. You have to go to the theater, buy a ticket, and then wait to see what comes up on the screen.

Yeah, it’s a little weird.
But it’s a bargain, and we’re just the messenger here.

The Oakhurst Neighborhood Association is hosting the 2026 season of Oakhurst Jazz Nights! The FREE sunset concerts will feature some of the best jazz artists in the Southeast.

They take place on Thursday nights in April and September — which are two of the best months to spend time outdoors in Atlanta! 

The concerts are FREE and open to the public. They take place on the lawn in front of The Solarium, in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur.

If it rains, the concert moves inside The Solarium.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.

You’re welcome to bring picnic blankets, but please do not bring lawn chairs.

Children are welcome, but the organizers request that they be well supervised. Please be particularly mindful of the plantings and landscaping around The Solarium, so nothing is trampled.

While the concerts are free, you can upgrade your experience. For an elegant front-row view of the concert, you can reserve a candlelit table for $25.  Each table seats up to four and comes complete with chairs, fresh linens, and a custom candle-lit centerpiece.

Dunwoody’s annual Lemonade Days festival returns in the spring of 2026 for it’s 26th  year!
The five-day event will happen from Wednesday, April 22 thru Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Lemonade Days Festival hours:

• Wednesday — 4 to 10 p.m.
• Thursday  — 4 to 10 p.m.
• Friday — 4 to 10 p.m.
• Saturday  — 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Sunday — noon to 6 p.m.

Admission to the festival is FREE, but you’ll want to drop a few bucks on food and activities.

The festival location is Brook Run Park, in Dunwoody.

Lemonade Days features 30 full-scale carnival rides.

On Wednesday and Thursday, unlimited ride wristbands are $25.
For the rest of the festival, the price is $35.
Wristbands are good only on the day of purchase.

Individual ride tickets are $1.25, but each ride requires more than one ticket.

In addition to the carnival rides, you’ll find 20 food and beverage vendors, three days of staged performances that include the popular Dunwoody Idol contest, a 5K run, a petting zoo, pony rides, an antique car show, arts and crafts for sale, and more.

Atlanta Streets Alive: Enjoy 3 miles of Peachtree St. with NO TRAFFIC!

 
Streets Alive will return to Peachtree Street in 2026. 
Here’s how it works:
On select Sunday afternoons, for four glorious hours, three miles of Peachtree Street will be closed to cars — and open for people to stroll, roll, bike, and play!

The Streets Alive Peachtree Route stretches from downtown to midtown, right through the heart of the city. Peachtree Street will be closed from Alabama Street, downtown, to 15th Street in midtown. (See the map, below.)

Here’s what to expect…

Streets Alive is FREE and it’s for everyone. You don’t have to be an athlete to join in. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what neighborhood you live in. Even if you’ve never heard of the Open Street concept before, you’re invited to get out and experience it firsthand.

The open street route has no formal beginning or end. You can hop on at any point you like. The flow of people will move in both directions, like it does on the Beltline, so you can create your own experience. 

This is a chance for you to EXPLORE  our city. You can stroll, roll, shop, eat, play, socialize, or simply enjoy the spring weather — all without the noise, fumes, and intensity of Atlanta’s traffic. 

The idea is to OPT OUT of traffic. 
Getting to Atlanta Streets Alive is easy by MARTA, by bike, or any human-powered mode of transportation. 

Streets Alive creates a a whole new healthy and vibrant city street experience  in Atlanta.
So bring your bicycle, your skateboard, or just your feet, and get ready to explore your community streets in a safer, healthier, more livable way!

Electric bikes and scooters are allowed, but please maintain a safe speed.
Leashed dogs are allowed.

There will be designated vehicle crossing points along the way, where Atlanta police will be directing traffic. These include Pine, Linden, North, Ponce, Edgewood, and other main streets that cross Peachtree.

Please don’t bring a car to Streets Alive!

The entire route is accessible by six Marta stations — from the Five Points Station at the southern end of downtown to the Arts Center Station in midtown.

You can also hop on or off the Atlanta Streetcar at the Woodruff Park or Peachtree Center stops.

We recommend the Marta On The Go app for easy access to rail maps and timetables. Remember, trains run less often on Sundays, usually every 20 minutes.

The annual Bluesberry & Beer Festival takes place in downtown Norcross on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 3 to 10 p.m. 
It’s in the spring this year, rather than in the fall as usual. 

The festival is centered at Betty Mauldin Park — that’s where the music stages will be. You can kick back there and relax to the blues.

You can also wander the downtown area looking for merchants with the “cool blue dude” decal displayed — this means they have bluesy specials, including berry-inspired food and drink. 

This unusual festival started with the idea of a blueberry day, with all the downtown restaurants featuring blueberry cocktails and gourmet dishes. Then someone got the idea to add blues music to the mix… and the rest is history.

The Iron Horse Tavern is at the heart of the Bluesberry & Beer Festival. The building is over 130 years old, with exposed brick walls and original wood floors. There’s a huge deck where you can enjoy good weather and listen to live music.

In the past, beer trucks throughout the festival offered plenty of selections from local breweries.

Michael C. Carlos Museum: free admission days and ticket discounts

The Michael C. Carlos Museum has the largest collection of ancient art and artifacts in the Southeast — including objects from ancient Greece, Egypt, Rome, Africa, and the ancient Americas. 

This is the only place in Atlanta where you can view Egyptian mummies. You’ll also come face to face with Greek and Indian deities, African ritual masks, and artifacts from the Americas.

The Carlos Museum is also a real bargain as Atlanta museums go, with some of the cheapest admission prices in town. It is located on the Emory University quad.

The Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University is located at 571 S. Kilgo Circle, Atlanta.
