As a follow up to the original Samsung Galaxy Camera, Samsung will almost definitely reveal the latest Galaxy S4 Zoom to the world on June 20th in London.  The Galaxy Camera concept is essentially a powerful camera with Android smartphone capabilities.  The successor will leverage the appeal of the Galaxy S4 brand and simply add Zoom to the name to imply the camera functionality.

SamMobile got their hands on a leaked product image for the Galaxy S4 Zoom, which looks like the standard Galaxy S4 plus a large camera on the rear side.  In terms of hardware and software, the device features a 4.3 inch qHD display, Android 4.2.2, 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal memory, and a 16GB MP rear facing camera.

The Samsung event on June 20th will hopefully reveal pricing and launch information, as well as more facts about the hardware and software.  Stay tuned for the full announcement!

Samsung is hosting an event taking place on June 20 in London in which a Galaxy related product and a Windows Phone ATIV related product will be announced.  According to a couple of recent press image leaks, we now believe one of the Galaxy products to be announced will be the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active for AT&T.

The Galaxy S4 Active is a smartphone that is similar internally to the Galaxy S4, but offers a rugged exterior protecting it against water and dust.  In addition, it features three physical navigation buttons on the bottom of the device for easy button access.  In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S4 Active offers a 5 inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 600 1.9GHz quad-core processor, 8MP rear facing camera, and 2GB of RAM.  As you can tell, the Galaxy S4 Active is very similar to the Galaxy S4, except in the camera department where it is downgraded to 8MP.

We expect Samsung to announce the Galaxy S4 Active for AT&T on June 20 and hopefully see the device launch with the carrier shortly thereafter.  Essentially, the Galaxy S4 Active is a rugged Galaxy S4, which may be a great smartphone for those prone to drop or damage their devices.

As many recent rumors indicated, the LG Nexus 4 is now available in white, as opposed to the standard black color.  The additional white option provides customers with more variety and will hopefully persuade on the fence buyers to pick up the stock Android Nexus device in white.

Pricing for the new white Neuxs 4 will remain the same as its black counterpart.  Specifically, the 8GB device will cost $299, while the 16GB model will cost $350.  Keep in mind that Google will bundle a free white bumper with each purchase.  The bumper otherwise retails for $19.99 through the Play Store.  The same white Nexus 4 is also available through T-Mobile, which has a total cost of $428.

While there are certainly more superior Android smartphones available for purchase — such as the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 — the Nexus 4 has a great off-contract price.

If white and black smartphones aren’t exactly your type, then you may be happy to learn Verizon Wireless is now selling the DROID RAZR M and DROID RAZR HD in blue.

Starting today both online and in-store, Verizon Wireless has the DROID RAZR M in blue for free on a two year contract.  As you can see based on the picture above, the DROID RAZR M is nicely surrounded by a blue finish.

The DROID RAZR HD, which can be viewed through the link below, is only covered in the blue on the outer casing.  In addition, the DROID RAZR HD will cost $99 on a two year contract just like its black and white companions.

Lastly, there is no word on when and if the DROID RAZR MAXX HD will receive the same blue color treatment.

On June 20 in London, Samsung will host an event (known as Samsung Premiere 2013) that will see the announcement and introduction of several products relating to their core mobile devices.  Specifically, the invitation mentions the Galaxy and ATIV brands, but we will primarily focus on the Galaxy brand since ATIV is reserved for Windows Phone.

Furthermore, the press invitation shows a few images of the potential products we may see.  A cursory glance at the image points towards a redesigned Samsung Galaxy Camera, a new tablet, or a new smartphone.  Only time — or rumors — will tell what Samsung has in store for us on June 20 in London.

The entire Premiere 2013 event will be live streamed via YouTube, but Androinica will recap the event and discuss any new products that may be announced.

When the Samsung Galaxy S 4 initially launched, it was available only in black and white.  However, in typical Samsung fashion, the company will offer new color options for the Galaxy S 4 including Aurora Red, Arctic Blue, Brown Autumn, and Purple Mirage.  Some of these colors may never make it to the United States, but we definitively know that the Aurora Red option will launch with AT&T.

The American carrier came out a couple of days ago announcing that it is currently taking pre-orders for the Aurora Red 16GB Galaxy S 4 option.  Unfortunately, the red color is not going to be available for the 32GB model at this time.  In terms of pricing and internal hardware, everything will remain exactly the same as it is right now.  Therefore, the red Galaxy S 4 on AT&T will retail for $199 on a two year contract.  Pre-orders in AT&T stores will begin June 14 for the Aurora Red Galaxy S 4.

The ideal launch envisioned by HTC executives was not to be.  Instead, the iconic launch of the super powered HTC One was plagued by component shortages making its launch date awfully close to that of the Samsung Galaxy S 4.  Despite early component shortages, the WSJ reports shipments of the HTC One eclipsed five million earlier last week.

Samsung has already sold 10 million Samsung Galaxy S 4 devices, but it is certainly nice to see HTC hold its own in the saturated smartphone market.  Hopefully, HTC will soon be able to straighten out all component shortages and have a smooth flow of production from manufacturer to the end consumer.

Between the numbers released by the WSJ report and J.K Shin for Samsung, one thing is known for certain: Android is gaining dominance in the mobile space and it will be interesting to see how Apple plans to counter with its new iPhone later this year.

Many of the best smartphones typically come in two or more colors to appeal to as many people as possible.  Many customers prefer black, which is usually the standard color, but I also know people who refuse to buy a smartphone unless it is available in white.  The Nexus 4 in white rumor is nothing new, and has even been spotted in the wild.  Today, however, Android Police received some press images of the white Nexus 4, which adds credence to the fact that it may launch sooner than later.

The tipster believes it will launch in 8GB and 16GB models, just like the current black model in the Play Store.  In my opinion, I hope Google surprises us with a 32GB model featuring LTE connectivity.  Secondly, the white model — at this time — is still running Android 4.2, but it is rumored to launch with Android 4.3.  Even though Google did not announce Android 4.3 or the white Nexus 4 at I/O, there is still a distinct possibility Google could simply announce both at a smaller event in June.

Lastly, the rumored target date for the white Nexus 4 is June 10th.  If the press images are ready to go, and the device is already in the wild, then I see no reason why the announce can’t happen on the 10th or earlier.

One common gripe with the Samsung Galaxy S 4 is the fact that it contains an excessive amount of TouchWiz bloatware that the phone often suffers as a result.  Many were pleased with the previous Samsung Galaxy Nexus and hoped that Samsung would continue to be a part of the Nexus program.  While that prospect never seemed to materialize as LG stepped up with the Nexus 4, we heard a few days ago that Google will launch the Samsung Galaxy S 4 through the Play Store.

The special Google Play Store version of the S 4 will run stock Android 4.2 and receive updates straight from Google.  The benefits of such a stock phone is fast updates, a stable and clean Android build, and easy to unlock and run custom ROMs.  The only disappointing part of the announcement for me is the fact that Google will sell it for $649 through the Play Store, and not $299 or $349 as the Nexus 4 costs.

In any event, the off contract Galaxy S 4 that operates on AT&T and T-Mobile’s LTE network will be available on June 26 for $649 off contract.

With the Samsung Galaxy S 4 having just launched across several American carriers in the United States, now is a good time to recap on its general availability as well as the hardware it is packing.

To begin, AT&T has the Samsung Galaxy S 4 16GB model available in both White Frost and Black Mist.  The remaining carriers (Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless) will each have the device available in the same two colors.  At this time, AT&T only has the 16GB model in stock for $199 on a two year contract.

Secondly, Sprint is selling the Galaxy S 4 at a slightly discounted price of $149 on a two year contract.  It is hard to figure out why the discrepancy in pricing exists, but I am sure current Sprint customers are completely satisfied with the $50 discount in price over its competition.

The third carrier being addressed today is T-Mobile who has the Galaxy S 4 for $149 as an upfront fee.  Since the carrier has done away with contracts, the pricing schematic is a bit different than other carriers.  After paying the initial $149 upfront fee, the user will be hit with recurring payments of $20 per month for 24 months.  The grand total, before applicable sales tax, becomes $629.  Keep in mind that T-Mobile offers competitive monthly rates, which allows it to remain competitive when it requires the full cost to be paid.

The last carrier is Verizon Wireless, who unfortunately, will not launch the device until May 30th.  At this time, the three other major carriers have each launched the Samsung Galaxy S 4.  However, Verizon Wireless is currently taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S 4 to tune of $199.  It is a bit surprising to see Verizon launch the device a month later than other carriers, but such is the situation.

In terms of a hardware recap, the Galaxy S 4 packs a 5 inch 1080p display, LTE connectivity, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear facing camera, a 1.9GHz quad-core processor, 2MP front facing camera, and a 2600 mAh battery.  In terms of software, the device runs Android 4.2, but keep in mind it is heavily skinned with TouchWiz with many features.
