Quick Thoughts

A 2% bonus isn’t a make-or-break deal, but if you have payable shopping portal earnings on TopCashback, you might as well take advantage of the 2% bonus if you’d otherwise just have it sent to your checking account via ACH.

TopCashback does offer higher percentage bonuses for cashing out via alternative methods, such as a 5% bonus when redeeming for a Visa or Amex prepaid debit card. That would obviously get you more money than a 2% bonus, but at least with Venmo there’s less hassle with getting hold of the money as you don’t have to liquidate a gift card.

You’ll have to be quick though because there’s only a couple more days to take advantage of this Venmo offer.

Quick Thoughts

There are lots of different elements to this Marriott/Outside partnership.

The most rewarding part—as a lump sum number of points at least—is the ability to earn 2,000 bonus points when subscribing to an Outside+ membership for the first time. That costs $89.99 per year and so it’s certainly not worth subscribing to for the points alone, but it’s a good little bonus if you had been eyeing a subscription.

If you’re already a subscriber, it’s nice that you can earn 1,000 bonus points for simply linking your Outside+ and Marriott Bonvoy accounts.

Earning 50 bonus points for each activity, with a limit of 150 bonus points per day and 5,000 bonus points per year, is great in theory. However, it’s a shame that you can only earn those bonus points when staying at Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors properties. It would’ve been much better if Outside+ subscribers could earn those 50 bonus points even when not staying at a Marriott property, but I guess then Marriott would have little incentive to award them bonus points. In order to facilitate those 50 bonus points earnings during eligible stays, you also get complimentary access to Outside+ even if you don’t have an active paid subscription.

Quick Thoughts

10,000 bonus points isn’t a huge reward, but this promotion is worth being aware of in case you see the same property from Homes & Villas listed on other sites like Vrbo, Airbnb, etc. Depending on any kind of pricing differential between sites, those 10,000 bonus points might make it more worthwhile booking with Homes & Villas rather than one of the alternatives, especially when considering the stacking opportunity with shopping portal rewards. I don’t believe there’s a Homes & Villas Amex Offer available at the moment, but if one appears before June 20 (the date by which you need to have booked) then that’ll stack too.

One thing it won’t stack with is this separate Homes & Villas promotion. That’s because that other promo is only valid for stays in the Caribbean and Latin America, whereas this promo for mountain stays is only valid for bookings in half a dozen different states.

Quick Thoughts

Earning 2X points isn’t a massive reward because you ordinarily earn 1 Reward Point and 1 Status Point for every €2 (~$2.30) spent on meetings and events. That means you’re effectively earning 0.5 additional bonus points per €1 ($1.15) with this promotion. Still, if you’ll be making a booking at a participating property anyway, you might as well earn the extra bonus points.

Be aware that this promotion is only valid for properties in North and Central America, so if you were planning a meeting, destination wedding, etc. outside of those regions, you’ll only get the standard earnings.

Quick Thoughts

When buying third-party gift cards, you can earn 4x fuel points, saving you up to 14% on gas. To illustrate how that 14% figure is calculated, let’s say you spend $250 on gift cards during the promotion. That would earn you 1,000 fuel points, which can be redeemed for $1 off per gallon on up to 35 gallons. If you’re able to refuel to that 35-gallon limit (perhaps with a large gas tank or refueling 2+ household vehicles at once), you’d save $35. Saving $35 on the original $250 in gift card spend amounts to a 14% discount.

If your gas tank is smaller, though, your savings won’t be as high. For example, our car holds at most 12 gallons, so we can barely save 5% on gas through these promotions, given how much we spend on gift cards. You can often get better discounts on gift cards through sites like Raise, so weigh up all your options before buying them at full price from Kroger or its affiliates, such as Dillons, King Soopers, Ralphs, Fry’s, or Smith’s.

You can earn 4x fuel points on gift cards purchased online or in-store, though there are a couple of important differences between the two. If you’ll be buying in-store, you have to load the digital coupons to your account first, whereas you’ll automatically earn 4x fuel points when buying gift cards online from Kroger.

The other thing to bear in mind is that buying gift cards in-store lets you take advantage of the plethora of cards offering bonus spend at grocery stores right now. Kroger’s online gift card site processes payments through Blackhawk Network (owner of GiftCards.com), so those online orders don’t code as grocery purchases.

The details of these perks are somewhat sparse. It’s not clear what constitutes a “premium” ticket. When checking Ticketmaster, standard tickets are available from CA$25 (~$18), but go all the way up to CA$287 (~$206). I suspect that a premium ticket would be towards the upper end of the pricing range, but it’s a shame that there are no further details given.

It’s also not clear what the pre-game sideline experience entails, but I imagine it’ll be fun no matter what if you’re a Saskatchewan Roughriders or Ottawa Redblacks fan, or just a fan of CFL in general.

The $250 merch card could make the deal even better. If there’s merchandise in their gift shop that you’re interested in, redeeming points for this experience could provide excellent value.

Bidding starts at 30,000 points for each package. This is the first time that I remember seeing CFL games listed on Choice Privileges Experiences, so I’ve no clue how popular these packages will be. Still, if bidding doesn’t end up going too high, it could make for a fun evening out in Ottawa for a very reasonable number of Choice points.

Quick Thoughts

Spending exactly $200 represents a bonus of 2.5X Atmos points per dollar. That might end up being worthwhile, but it’s worth comparing regular retailer rates on the Alaska portal to other portals using Cashback Monitor or Savewise.

In case you weren’t aware, the Alaska portal has an in-store feature too. If you pay with a linked card in-store at participating retailers, you’ll also earn points via the shopping portal and that spending counts towards the $200 spending threshold for the bonus too.

Gift card purchases are listed as being excluded, but purchases from Giftcards.com do count towards these types of bonuses.

Quick Thoughts

This transit and rideshare Amex Offer should be fairly easy to max out seeing as it’s valid not only on services like Uber and Lyft, but for things like parking, tolls, public transport, and more.

This offer only seems to be getting targeted at Marriott cardholders, but let us know if you’re seeing this offer on other types of cards too. Both personal and business Marriott cards are being targeted, but it doesn’t seem like one type of card gets a statement credit or bonus points offer only. I have a personal Marriott card plus I’m an authorized user on my wife’s business Marriott card; I had the $6 statement credit version of the offer on both of those cards. My wife on the other hand is the primary cardholder of a business Marriott card and is an authorized user on my personal card; she was targeted on both those cards for the additional 1,000 points offer.

Note that you can use these offers up to three times for a total of $18 back or 3,000 bonus points. I’m not sure if a $45 purchase will trigger all three statement credits/sets of bonus points, or if you need to spend $15+ across at least three different transactions to max it out.

IHG has returned with another sale, offering a 100% bonus when buying points. That means you can buy IHG Rewards points for as low as 0.5. cents per point (cpp). This is a limited-time sale that ends June 12, 2026.

As always, this might be targeted, and sometimes members have different bonus amounts or tier thresholds.

Also of note is that while the maximum number of purchased points is ordinarily 200,000 before the bonus, it appears that the limit has been increased to 300,000 before the bonus this time (which would mean a total of 600,000 points at 0.5cpp with the bonus).

If you find that Points.com won’t accept your IHG login details, you should still be able to buy the points if you click through from an IHG email about this points sale, or by clicking through from the IHG app.

Best uses of IHG points

• 4th night free. Use points to book 4 nights for the price of 3. This benefit is valid for longer stays, so if you’re staying 8 nights, you’ll get both the 4th and 8th nights free. This benefit is available only to cardholders of the IHG Premier, Traveler, and Business credit cards. Rather than reducing the total cost of the stay by 25%, the points required for every 4th night are deducted. Seeing as IHG uses dynamic pricing, that can be great if the 4th night is the most expensive, but not as good if that night is the cheapest. See this post for more about the possibilities.
• 10% points rebate. If you have the IHG Select credit card (no longer available for new applications), you’ll get a 10% points rebate when booking award stays. The points are credited back a few weeks after your stay, so you need to have the full number of points required for an award stay in your account. The 10% points rebate stacks with the 4th night free benefit if you have both an IHG Premier, Traveler or Business credit card and an IHG Select card, with the 4th night free being calculated first.
• Sweet spots with dynamic pricing. Although IHG uses dynamic pricing for award stays, award pricing isn’t always as high as the corresponding cash cost. For example, Stephen booked a stay at the Staybridge Suites Temecula-Wine Country in California. The average nightly cost was $258.81 with taxes and fees, but the points cost ranged from 19,000 to 23,000 points per night. Buying points at 0.5cpp would therefore enable you to stay for only $95-$115 per night at that award pricing – less than half the cost of a regular paid stay. Stacking the 4th night free and a 10% points rebate reduced the cost of a 9-night stay there to only 14,500 points per night, or $72.50 per night when buying points at 0.5cpp. That was less than a third of the cost of a paid stay.

Things to know about IHG points

• When you book nights with points, you will not earn points for the stay unless IHG is running a promotion that awards bonus points per night/stay, which includes award nights.
• Most hotel taxes are not charged on award stays, so this can make the value of buying points even better. Arguably, this factor and the one above roughly cancel each other out.
• IHG Rewards points purchases are made via Points.com. You can click through from a shopping portal to earn a little cashback on the purchase, thereby reducing your net cost for the points – you can find the current rates here.
• Points.com purchases don’t code as travel, so it’s best to pay with a card that earns at a higher rate for everyday spend or on a card where you’re working on a minimum spend requirement.
• A couple of readers report that some card-linked IHG spending offers are triggered by points purchases, despite payment being processed by Points.com rather than IHG. See the discussion thread here.

Quick Thoughts

The FLYWOW promo code doesn’t work on all flights on all routes. If the code usage is successful, you’ll see the standard price struck through, with the discounted price being displayed in green.

As always with these types of Southwest promo codes, if it discounts the cash pricing then it also discounts the award pricing.

If you have any existing flights booked for travel during the eligible dates, it’s worth repricing those to see if you’re eligible for a flight credit due to a drop in price.

Shopping portal Rakuten is offering cash back bonuses for those who open select credit cards through the Rakuten portal. These bonuses being offered by Rakuten stack on top of the introductory card holder bonus offered by the respective banks. We are currently seeing boosted rates of up to $250 back, which could alternatively become 25,000 Bilt points for Bilt elite members who choose to earn Bilt points if you’re approved for a specific Bank of America credit card.

This isn’t quite as good as the recent high offers of up to $300 that we saw in the past. However, it’s nonetheless good to see offers continuing to roll in via Rakuten.

Quick Thoughts

If you have one of these cards in mind, these bonuses can be a terrific deal, although it might be possible to do better via referrals.

In the past, Bank of America didn’t provide rewards for existing cardholders referring other people to new cards. That recently changed on a targeted basis, so you might be able to earn $100 cashback by referring your partner (or vice versa). On the Chase side, if you have a household member who’s able to refer you, you should check for a referral offer because it might make more sense to go through your household member’s referral link. Either way, stacking additional cash back or Bilt points on top of one of these welcome offers can be a really nice enhancement.

Keep in mind that these offers can and do change frequently. We don’t know how long these offers will last, nor if they’ll increase or decrease in the coming days.

Quick Thoughts

Economy saver awards between the US and UK start at 6,000 Virgin points (plus a not insubstantial amount in taxes and fees). With a 30% transfer bonus, that means you’d only need to transfer 5,000 Ultimate Rewards points per person which would then also give you Virgin points left over for future redemptions.

One way premium economy awards are available from 10,500 points; if you already have 100 Virgin points in your account, you’d only need to transfer 8,000 Ultimate Rewards over to have enough for one ticket. If you’re lucky, you can find Upper Class (i.e. business class) tickets for only 35,000 points one way (albeit with very high taxes and fees); that would require only 27,000 Ultimate Rewards transferred with this 30% bonus.

This transfer bonus could also come in handy for other Virgin redemptions like cruises with Virgin Voyages and this all-inclusive stay at Finch Hattons in Kenya. That latter redemption costs 100,000 points per night with a minimum two night stay, with that covering the cost of two people. If transferring Ultimate Rewards points from Chase, you’d only need to redeem 77,000 points per night.

Quick Thoughts

I’ve never personally considered using Emirates miles for a cash and miles redemption, but in this case, I can certainly see the appeal. Getting $30 in value toward flights operated by Emirates and FluDubai for 2,000 miles represents a straight 1.5 cents per mile. As such, it could certainly be useful for anyone with a stash of Emirates miles and a desire to fly on Emirates. Obviously, you would need to compare against the cash or against the award prices to determine whether or not that’s a relatively good deal.

There are probably at least some scenarios where that will represent a deal almost as good as or perhaps even better than an award ticket after you consider the surcharges on Emirates awards. Perhaps even more interesting is the opportunity to redeem 4,500 Emirates miles for £49 toward a ticket on EasyJet or Jet2. While those ultra-low-cost carriers won’t provide the flashy experience of flying Emirates, they could nonetheless be useful for getting around Europe for reasonable mileage redemptions. Head for Points reports that they’ve not actually found that much value when comparing against cash prices found elsewhere for EasyJet, but it can be difficult to determine because it really depends on what the inclusions are on the tickets purchased through Emirates, since ultra-low-cost carriers tend to unbundle most things. I imagine those redemptions may not be quite as smooth and simple as many award tickets. However, if you’ve got the Emirates miles and the need to fly EasyJet or Jet2, this could certainly be a reasonable use of the miles.

In our case, my wife and I got stuck with about 200K miles with Emirates a few years ago when a transfer got held up and we missed out on the award availability that we wanted to book. As a result, I’ve been looking for a way to use these miles. Over time, Emirates has continued to devalue awards and increase their surcharges, which has made me start to feel less likely that I’ll find a good use for the miles before they expire next year. This promotion could potentially be useful for me, but I haven’t yet delved deeply into the redemption process. If any readers take advantage of this one, please share your experiences in the comments.

There’s a new targeted Amex Offer out that’s good for $100 back when you spend $500 or more with Carnival Cruise Lines. You’ll need to enroll in the offer if targeted, but this can make for a good stack with free or discounted cruise line casino offers if you’re still getting those.

Quick Thoughts

This can obviously be a good deal if you’re targeted and you have an upcoming booking with Carnival. I’ve used these offers before and always found any type of pre-payment to work, whether the initial cruise booking or a later deposit. On the other hand, on-board purchases, which are excluded in the terms, have not worked for me. Don’t forget to enroll in the offer prior to making a qualifying purchase.

In order to take advantage of this benefit, you’ll need to link your T-Mobile account and your Delta SkyMiles account. According to Thrifty Traveler, the ability to do that is expected to become available within the T-Life app next week, perhaps around the June 16th launch party that T-Mobile has planned in New York. Once you’ve synced up your T-Mobile account and Delta account, it will presumably be recognized on your tickets such that when you order a drink in-flight, the flight attendants’ system should recognize that you get a complimentary drink (assuming you have your Delta SkyMiles number associated with the reservation). It probably makes sense to confirm that it will be complimentary the first time or two you use the benefit if you wouldn’t otherwise buy a premium drink.

The benefit covers beer, wine, and spirits, so you’ll have a pretty wide range of options. This deal should save you $9 to $12 based on current menu prices, so the savings could certainly add up over multiple flights for someone who flies Delta quite frequently. It sounds like you’ll only get one free drink per flight, but that’s still a decent deal.

Again, the process to be eligible for this includes linking up your T-Mobile account with your Delta SkyMiles account within the T-Life app, which may not yet be available (I don’t see it in my app). I’m also not sure if there are any restrictions as to which plans are eligible, though most T-Mobile promotions apply to most plans of the past several years. With the launch party celebrating the beginning of this benefit scheduled in New York City on June 16th, we expect that it will be possible to sync up accounts by then at the latest.

Quick Thoughts

While 1,000 Qatar Airways Avios likely won’t move the needle in terms of deciding where to stay for your upcoming trip, it makes sense to register for this if you’ve already got a Hilton stay booked or are planning to book one. Keep in mind that Avios can be moved between the various airlines that use the Avios currency. Unlike most airline miles, which typically can’t be transferred to another airline, Avios can be moved between Qatar Airways and other Avios programs, including British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, and Loganair. That means you can take advantage of the best sweet spots from whichever Avios program meets your needs for a particular booking.

Again, the 1,000 Avios on offer here won’t get you much on their own, but you get a lot of flexibility in how to put them to use with other existing miles or points that you have. It’s worth registering for this promotion even if you don’t have immediate plans to stay at Hilton, just in case you end up staying at one unexpectedly. It’s always a nice surprise when you forget that you even registered, and then you earn some bonus points after the stay.

You do not need to choose between earning Avios and earning Hilton Honors points. You should still earn Hilton Honors points as you ordinarily would. The 1,000 Avios are purely a bonus in this case.

Quick Thoughts

As always with these deals, the best option is to buy in three-card increments, as Office Depot/Max gives a $15 discount for every $300 you spend. So, buying three cards means you’re spending $600, which takes off $30. Buying nine cards means you should get $90 off, but YMMV as to whether a store will let you do that.

For every three cards you buy, you’ll pay $23.85 in fees (3x$7.95), giving you a net $6.15 in profit in addition to any additional rewards. Buying nine cards at a time triples both the profit and rewards (but will likely involve an ID check to make sure that the payment you’re using is yours).

Capital One Shopping tends to show different rates depending on how you view offers. The rate you see on the Capital One Shopping homepage for Klook will probably be higher than the rate you see if you search for Klook using the site’s search bar. The app might show a different rate, while the highest rates of all are often sent via targeted emails, so keep an eye out for those today if you’re interested in booking with Klook.

In case you’re not familiar with Klook, it’s a site that’s similar to Viator whereby you can book activities and tours, as well as other travel-related things like hotels and car rentals. You can earn boosted rates today on most of those, although the percentages vary depending on the type of booking.

For example, on Capital One Shopping I’m seeing a breakdown as follows:

• Tours, sightseeing, activities, & experiences – 40%
• Hotels, car rentals, attractions, shows, attraction passes, transportation, & Wifi – 25%
• Special activities & Klook gift cards – 2%
• Universal Studios Japan Super Value Combo – 1%

As a reminder, the cashback you earn with Capital One Shopping isn’t pure cashback. Instead, it can only be cashed out for a selection of third party gift cards. That selection nowadays tends to be better than in some previous years, but it does mean that you wouldn’t be cashing it out for 40% of actual cashback (or however much you’re targeted for). On the plus side, anyone can be a Capital One Shopping customer as it’s a shopping portal that’s open to anyone—even non-cardholders.

If you are a Capital One cardholder, be sure to also check Capital One Offers. This is a shopping portal that’s only available for cardholders and is also offering boosted rates for Klook today. Similar to Capital One Shopping, rates offered on Capital One Offers can be targeted. I’m seeing rates of up to 35X miles today for Klook, broken down as follows:

While the rates you see on Capital One Offers might be a little lower than those you see on Capital One Shopping, the benefit of Capital One Offers is that if your card earns cashback, you’ll earn those rewards as pure cashback, not cashback that can only be redeemed for gift cards. If you have one or more Capital One cards that earn miles, you’ll earn those rewards as miles which makes them even more valuable if you value the miles at more than 1 cent per point.

To view your Capital One Offers, log in to your Capital One account and scroll down to the section where it says ‘Activate shopping offers.’ Click on ‘View all offers’ and on the next screen near the top you should see your Klook rate.
