London, UK, 7th June 2023 – Multi-award winning B2B technology PR & marketing consultancy <a href='https://www.ccgrouppr.com/technology-pr/' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'>CCgroup</a>, today launched new research revealing the impact of the current economic climate on the cybersecurity buying landscape and what now influences vendor selection. The report, <a href='https://www.ccgrouppr.com/insights/cybersecurity-marketing-strategies-how-to-influence-purchasing-behaviour-in-a-tough-economic-climate/' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'>Cybersecurity Marketing Strategies: How to Influence Purchasing Behaviour in a Tough Economic Climate</a>, highlights that, despite prevailing economic headwinds, the market for cybersecurity products and services remains buoyant. 
<br>

The study, conducted by Coleman Parkes Research among 360 cybersecurity decision makers in the UK and U.S., found that 78% of enterprises in the U.S. and 58% in the UK have increased cybersecurity investment in the last year, while 81% of enterprises are looking to work with new vendors in the next 12 months. The top three solutions for investment are endpoint security, application security and fraud prevention. However, despite searching for new suppliers, 37% of U.S. and 24% of UK enterprises expect to see a cut in the next year.

Against this backdrop, cybersecurity vendors need to adapt their approach to generating new business.  There are a number of approaches that vendors can take to maximise their exposure in a crowded market and increase their chances of being selected for RFP processes. Findings include:
<br>

•	Generating vendor awareness requires a mix of channels – Cybersecurity technology buyers confirm that the most influential channels in building their awareness of suppliers are industry analysts, followed by broader business events, business technology media and trade media. In the U.S., industry analysts (78%), business technology media (77%) and trade and business media (both 76%) are regarded as highly impactful. In the UK, broader business events (70%), industry analysts (69%), industry-specific events (67%) and trade media (66%) are the strongest channels for generating awareness. When it comes to content for generating awareness, social media took the top spot.

<br>
•	Long-form content is crucial to cybersecurity vendors’ content strategies – Long-form copy – written either by vendors or industry analysts – proved to be the most popular, with blogs emerging as the winner in both markets (92% in the U.S. and 93% in the UK), followed by industry analyst reports (88% overall) and case studies (87% overall). Cybersecurity technology buyers seek out content that demonstrates vendors can solve their problems, understand their business, prove the value of their solutions, and be a trusted source of industry knowledge.

•	Value for money is the biggest factor influencing investments, but a strong track record is also key – The vendor attribute most important in driving selection is value for money, according to both U.S. (61%) and UK (48%) respondents. Yet economic constraints are not the only factor: values and ethics follow closely behind (60% and 47%, respectively). In the current climate, buyers are demonstrating caution when it comes to spending but are demanding more for their money rather than going for the cheaper option. Meanwhile, they are seeking partners that share their principles and ethics.

“The cybersecurity landscape has weathered many storms in the last three years. As global economic uncertainty deepens, companies are being more cautious in their approach to budget allocation,” said Florie Lhuillier, Head of Cybersecurity at CCgroup. “Naturally, this will have implications for how businesses address their cybersecurity investments now and in the future. They will be more careful in scrutinising the available options and proactively seek evidence that a vendor can solve their specific problem.”

“An integrated marketing strategy must be designed entirely around a potential customer’s needs, experiences, and expectations: cybersecurity vendors must therefore have a 360-degree view of their buyers’ behaviour and tailor their strategy accordingly. Understanding the dynamics that drive vendor and solution awareness, combined with selection and purchasing patterns, empowers cybersecurity vendors to succeed in a highly competitive market.”

CCgroup commissioned the specialist B2B research agency, Coleman Parkes Research, to survey 360 cybersecurity decision markers (C-levels and Heads) across the UK and the U.S., who have made major technology purchases in the last 12 months.
<br>
The sample was evenly split between the Retail, Healthcare, Financial Services and Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) sectors. The research took place between March and April 2023.

Eighteen years after its launch, Umbraco has become the largest open-source .Net CMS in the world, supported by more than 250,000 software contributors, implemented by 1,500 digital agency partners and used to develop more than a million websites. It is among the top three CMS platforms used by UK local authorities. As such, the company is committed to leading positive change in the CMS industry:

“We’re taking a comprehensive look at our operations to ensure that they align with the UN Global Compact, which calls on companies to adopt universal principles that treat people and the planet well and make a positive impact on society as a whole,” explains Umbraco, CEO, Kim Sneum-Madsen. “We are blessed with a highly-engaged global community of developers and digital agency partners, backed by a commercial operation that ensures that software is safely maintained. The Umbraco Impact Report 2022 details how the company is tackling some of the common challenges facing the IT industry, including sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and the shortage of developers.

Diversity and Inclusion:
<br>
Open-source software promotes the inclusion of under-represented groups in the IT industry because it enables anyone to contribute to the core CMS, regardless of gender, ethnicity, learning differences or socio-economic status. 
<br>

<br>
Umbraco has established a Female Mentoring Programme, in partnership with the University College of Odense, with clear career paths and leadership training.
<br>
2022 saw the formation of the Umbraco Accessibility Team of volunteers, who raise awareness of ways to make Umbraco websites more inclusive for end-users who are blind, deaf, have learning differences, or limited mobility. The team are working to ensure that the Umbraco back-office meets WAI Level AA accessibility criteria. 
<br>

Chief Operating Officer Javier Miranda comments, “Up to two billion people have difficulty using websites that are not designed with accessibility in mind. Designing accessible sites is good for society and businesses. Nucleus Research figures indicate that ecommerce organisations that make sites easier for blind people to use are winning $6.9 billion of business a year from competitors that haven’t invested in making their sites accessible and inclusive.”

Developer Shortage:
<br>
Talented developers are in short supply and can afford to be selective about the technologies that they work with. A survey undertaken by Danebury Research among digital agencies and enterprises in the technology, retail, and public sector, revealed that almost a quarter (24.7%) believed that having a legacy CMS made their organisation less attractive to talented developers. Umbraco is addressing this challenge by ensuring that its core CMS continues to be user-friendly, flexible and sustainable, so that it remains an attractive choice for developers.

To understand the needs of developers and end-users, Umbraco regularly meets with its open-source community and publicly recognises the top contributors with Most Valuable People (MVP) awards and inclusion in its Hall of Fame: 67 MVPs were recognised in 2022 and there were 1458 attendees at Umbraco’s annual developer event, Codegarden.

To empower the next generation of developers, Umbraco runs Coding Class for school children, and free Umbraco training and certification for computer science students at UNCC in Charlotte USA, UCL in London UK, and SDU in Odense Denmark. Students at the universities of Leeds and Cardiff have also been provided with Umbraco training by UK digital agency twentysix Digital. The company is also a Hack Your Future gold partner, providing free Umbraco training to refugees.

Data Privacy:
<br>
Umbraco Cloud’s managed hosting infrastructure provides 24/7 service monitoring, automatic patching and single-click feature upgrades, protected by Microsoft Azure’s enterprise-grade security controls, data-privacy and compliance tools. In 2022 Umbraco added US and UK regional hosting options, allowing customers to select whether their Umbraco Cloud projects, data and environments are stored within Western Europe, UK, or US. Regional hosting provides organisations with reassurance that their data is stored within their national jurisdiction and in compliance with local data privacy laws.

Sustainability:
<br>
Umbraco began calculating its carbon footprint in 2022 and now has a tool and methodology allowing the company to identify the greatest emission sources. Hosting Umbraco Cloud and HeartCore projects represents more than 50% of Umbraco’s estimated 1,100 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent. Owing to Microsoft’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, websites that have been migrated to the new .NET versions of Umbraco became at least 50% more efficient, leading to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
<br>

<br>
The company’s second largest source of CO2 emissions is business travel, specifically flights. Umbraco is working to reduce this through more sustainable business practices, including meeting online wherever possible. 
<br>

<br>
As part of its journey to becoming carbon neutral, Umbraco has sponsored 30 verified carbon avoidance projects through Ecologi and funded the planting of 19,122 trees. Introducing Dementia Help magazine, launching on 12 May ahead of Dementia Action Week (15 to 21 May) – the very first consumer magazine for dementia carers. This new bi-monthly digital publication will help carers cope by featuring valuable insights on topics such as financial planning, managing daily caring tasks, and top-notch products and services that can genuinely make a difference. The launch issue features an exclusive interview with Scott Mitchell, widower of Dame Barbara Windsor, who had Alzheimer’s disease.

The magazine will be free to download from the existing Dementia Help website, sent to an email list of 15,000 dementia carers and promoted to Dementia Help’s 17,500 followers. Dementia Help magazine will be an essential resource for all carers supporting their loved ones.

The launch of Dementia Help magazine marks an important milestone in providing much-needed support for people living with dementia and their families. There are around 700,000 dementia carers in the UK and over 944,000 people living with a diagnosis. Dementia is a growing problem, with Alzheimer’s Society predicting that 1.6 million people will be living with the condition by 2040.

Carers often feel isolated and alone, with 63% of carers saying they have had no or very little support, according to Alzheimer’s Research. Up to 70% of dementia carers are women, and 20% of female carers have gone from full-time to part-time work to cope with their caring duties.

Dementia Help Founder Christina Neal is an award-winning writer and editor with over 30 years of media experience. She launched the Dementia Help Facebook page and website in 2017 as a beacon of hope for those caring for loved ones after losing her mum to dementia. The Facebook page quickly grew to 16,000 followers.
<br>

Christina says: ‘When mum was diagnosed, I had no idea what to expect or how to plan ahead. I wish I had known more about dementia in the early stages of her diagnosis, as the more you understand it, the better placed you are to provide the best care. Christina aims to fund the magazine through advertising revenue. She will offer full-page and half-page advertising options to advertisers with relevant products and services, and the opportunity to advertise online and in regular Dementia Help email newsletters. Amongst the finalists is Aqueous Digitals [<a title='Goes&nbsp;to&nbsp;website&nbsp;of:&nbsp;https://www.aqueous-digital.co.uk/' href='https://www.aqueous-digital.co.uk/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>https://www.aqueous-digital.co.uk/</a>] own digital marketing apprentice, Katie Marsden who has been recognised in the young achiever of the year category for the second year in a row. 
<br>

Joining Aqueous in 2021 as a digital marketing degree apprentice, Katie has shown exceptional talent and skill in her field. Her dedication and hard work have earned her this recognition and is a testament to her accomplishments. 
<br>

<br>
Katie delivers SEO services to a variety of different customers, which involves account and project management, monthly reporting duties and website content co-ordination. She is excelling in her role since starting nearly two years ago and has started taking on additional responsibilities as she gains more confidence and experience. 
<br>

<br>
After finishing her A levels, Katie opted to study for an apprenticeship [<a title='Goes&nbsp;to&nbsp;website&nbsp;of:&nbsp;https://www.aqueous-digital.co.uk/articles/digital-marketing-degree-or-degree-apprenticeship/' href='https://www.aqueous-digital.co.uk/articles/digital-marketing-degree-or-degree-apprenticeship/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>https://www.aqueous-digital.co.uk/articles/digital-marketing...</a>] as she felt that the combination of classroom learning, and real-life experience would set her aside from those with just a degree.

The Halton Business Awards, that have been a staple event in the Halton business calendar since 2008, celebrate the achievements of businesses and individuals in the borough. The ceremony will be held at the DCBL stadium on the 16th of June 2023 and will see organisations from the local community come together to celebrate outstanding business success.

According to the survey, Marketing salaries have risen by an impressive 9% since the last report, with the average salary in the industry now at £37,144. This increase is due to the growing importance of digital marketing and the need for skilled professionals in this field.

The survey also revealed that the highest-paying marketing roles are in London, where the average salary is £41,829, which is significantly higher than the national average. The highest-paying marketing roles in London are Marketing Director, Head of Marketing, and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

May 2, 2023 (Austin, TX) – <a href='https://www.globalthoughtleaders.org/articles/listen-educate-take-action-communication-is-a-human-right' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'>A powerful new film</a> has debuted calling for hearing allies, policy leaders and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to stand boldly with and for the deaf and hard of hearing community and help deliver the communications equity promised decades ago by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The film, announced by ZP Better Together, is featured on TBD Media Group’s “Global Thought Leaders” and CBSNews.com.

The film features several prominent deaf leaders and activists – Greg Hlibok, Storm Smith, Warren “Wawa” Snipe, and Chris Wagner – who in addition to sharing their own personal experiences call for the hearing community and federal government to take action and eliminate the significant inequities and communications gaps that still exist today for deaf individuals. Also featured in the film is leading ally and community advocate Sherri Turpin, CEO of ZP Better Together.

The film also launched a supporting global <a href='https://standwiththedeafcommunity.nationbuilder.com/' rel='nofollow' target='_blank'>StandWithTheDeafCommunity</a> petition, inviting public support and urging federal action at the FCC to ensure the deaf community’s fundamental right to equal communications access.
<br>

“We cannot afford to wait any longer,” said Greg Hlibok. “The FCC’s Video Relay Service (VRS) program is broken and out of touch with today’s realities because it does not allow for the investment necessary to address the communications inequities. The FCC must not delay its obligation to close these gaps and deliver the communications equity promised decades ago.”

The eight-minute film is designed to more fully educate the hearing audience and policy leaders about some of the very specific and longstanding communications inequities. These include needing to have two phone numbers – one for texting and one for video relay calls – and also the inability of E911 emergency services to locate deaf people the same way they do hearing people. 
<br>

In the film, Hlibok, Smith, Snipe and Wagner all pointedly ask hearing viewers to listen more, to put themselves in their shoes, to stand together with the deaf community and make a greater impact for today’s deaf community and for future generations.

“Imagine yourself in our shoes,” says Chris Wagner. “It could be your family member, it could be your child, your neighbor, your friend, a colleague. This impacts all of our lives. This is not just deaf people. This is all of us.”
