We’ve done many different types over the years, but there are a few classics that we and our clients love.

Watercolor house illustrations are always popular, and we can dress them up with holiday bling for the season, too! This is great for families who have moved or hit that first-time homeowner milestone. Or, we can illustrate a wintery landscape with seasonal snowmen, ski equipment, wildlife, you name it.

Of course, painted family and pet portraits never go out of style.

Another popular option incorporates some of our festive watercolor details embellishing a photo or photos of the family. These make a lovely choice to send a New Year’s greeting too.

We always have a couple special projects that go above and beyond, like our custom made Advent calendar with a tiny window for each day leading up to Christmas. Last year, we created a tiny recipe booklet with adorable, mouth-watering cookie illustrations, mailed in a little box.

It’s true, there are still a few holidays before we get to the big one BUT… we’re always booked for Christmas cards, so reach out if you’re ready to start working on one!

We were so delighted to see images of Courtney and Tato’s wedding last fall at the Hotel St. Cecelia in Austin, Texas! With a small ceremony, dinner, and brunch for family, this celebration turned out beautifully.

Originally planned to be a larger wedding in Mexico City, we first worked with Courtney on invitations for this event. Eventually, it was clear that could no longer happen, and the couple chose a new location and date. We collaborated again for day-of stationery for the reception dinner, and brunch the next day. They were special touch on the tables, and practical as well, one item we made were drink tags, so no one picked up the wrong glass!

Our bold watercolor florals for the reception, and softer, more neutral botanicals both fit in perfectly with the garden backdrop, and vintage vibe of the Hotel.

Don’t skip scrolling through the details below, even though the guest list was small, each element was gorgeous: the old-world backdrop of the Hotel, Courtney’s amazing dress, cascading florals at the table, and delicious treats.

This wedding was everything you could want, no matter your guest count!

Since we had already designed Courtney and Tato’s invitations before plans changed,  scroll to the very bottom to see what we had created for the Mexico City wedding! It was really a special set, featuring fun tiles, their planned venue, and a map of the city for guests. We think couples will continue to be inspired by it for a long time to come!

After over a year of delays due to COVID, Momental couple Madelyn and Jimmie were finally able to celebrate their wedding in Key West! We were so happy to see photos of their beautiful day, and wanted to share a few here.

Originally planned to be in the Bahamas, then sadly rescheduled twice, it was quite a long wait with many ups and downs to get to this day. Looks like it was worth it though!

Classic Momental watercolor peonies and blooms were chosen for the save the date and invitation, as well as an interim “change the date” card. One key custom stationery piece we created was an illustrated version of the family crest, to adorn each invitation, in coordinating soft watercolor tones.

We love the soft, pastel colors and florals for a wedding at the beach. Key West is a gorgeous tropical island destination, making palms a greenery a classic choice, but a softer palette and traditional wedding blooms work great against the sea, sky, and sand backdrop.

Make sure you get a look at the reception setting right on the sand, how fun is that? And the floral chandelier above the dance floor is amazing.

Welcome Notes, Itineraries and Maps

Welcome guests when they arrive with a schedule for the weekend or introduction to the area. Get creative with colorful icons, or a watercolor map of the area or property! We have done many different styles of these over the years. Some can include quite a lot of details about local activities, or they can be super simple and just let everyone know where to be, and when.

For destination celebrations or unique experiential venues, watercolor maps are a fun item to include in a welcome bag. An illustration of the area can be combined with a short schedule, or brief details along with each event icon. Make sure to include the locations of each wedding activity.

Menus

If you’ve got your reception dinner solidified, why not add a colorful menu to each place setting, to let everyone know what they’ll be enjoying? Our watercolor florals are always a popular design choice, and can fit many different wedding aesthetics. Choose a few to coordinate with your color palette, send us the wording, and not much else is needed to create something beautiful.

Ceremony Programs

Looking to elevate the day with programs or an order of service? Try one of our different formats that suits your style best! Some ceremonies are longer, while others are short and sweet, let guests know what to expect. A pretty hand painted program also makes a nice extra keepsake from the day. This is also a great place to add special notes to family and friends, as an extra “thank you” for sharing the day with you.

Digital Seating Charts

Going a little crazy with the seating list? Have us design and format your seating chart, then send you a PDF file to print before the wedding. It will save time in production and shipping. We can even design the artwork ahead, then fill in with your seating assignments once those are finalized a bit closer to the date. Just don’t forget to leave yourself a few days to get it printed and picked up locally before the wedding! (This is a great task to hand off to your planner).

Thank You Notes

Maybe the easiest of all, since you won’t really need them till after the wedding!

Of course a hand written thank you note to each guest is a must, but why not create something custom to stand out from a simple card? Choose from our wide range of watercolor florals, or have us create a custom illustration of your venue, destination, or yourselves! If planning has been tough and there wasn’t much time for other details, this is a great option to wrap up the whole event with a personal touch for all your friends and family.

Erin and Matt were married in October 2019. As you might guess, she designed and painted the stationery!

We love the blues and greens Erin picked, plus the pops of copper and other warm tones. It might not be the first color palette you think of when you hear “October wedding,” but it works beautifully, and paired perfectly with the floral arrangements.

The stationery as a whole featured many different design elements and textures.

The most impressive is the hand painted floral invite… just look at those blooms! Erin also opted for classic letterpress printing on the invite and save the dates, which elevates any piece of stationery.

Make sure you get a peek at her striped save the dates too, which were entirely painted by hand.

Plus the watercolor bridal shower invitations… different in style, but elegant and feminine.

For menus, Erin brought back the blue watercolor, this time with a personalized wax stamp on each one. She also designed cute bookmark place cards, and favor labels for each place setting.

With so many blooms on the invite, it’s only fitting that the day-of flowers were just as lovely.

With flowers and greenery from Fifty Flowers, Kristy put together the arrangements, which included a gorgeous swag backdrop for the ceremony.

With loads of greenery and mostly muted tones, these are autumnal without feeling too stereotypically “fall”. Loose and unstructured but not overly rustic. That bridal bouquet is a stunner, with the red amaranthus and orange berries!

A big congratulations to Erin and Matt, we couldn’t be happier to finally be sharing all the creativity from your big day!

Or, send a more personalized card with a picture of yourselves. Feature one of your engagement photos with some artistic detail or two.

If photos aren’t your style, a watercolored version of the two of you – and maybe a pet – is a cute customization.

Lots of clients have chosen to incorporate their dog or cat into their invitation set in different ways. We’ve collected a few examples of our favorite custom illustrated pets.

A favorite design is a custom illustrated wedding crest, featuring the couple’s pet or pets! We have done a few different versions, and they all turned out wonderfully.

Adding your furry companions to a floral monogram crest is a great way to update and personalize a classic wedding stationery element.

Others have chosen to incorporate their pets into a watercolor scene on their invitations, or featured them on their enclosure cards.

Another adorable element is the floral collar for dogs. We love this trend at the actual ceremony and in the illustrations!

The fun doesn’t stop with puppers. We have also painted lots of cats over the years, as well as the occasional horse, alpaca, and all kinds of birds.

Seeing images from the big day, the stationery coloring compliments the lush Pacific northwest forests in the background.

With one cohesive design running across all the paper elements, this wedding suite elevates a simple idea to the next level. It’s pretty amazing that the same idea can be used in so many ways, and look fresh each time.

In addition to the wedding invitation, we created lots of different elements for the reception.

Our favorite might be a customized insert for the bar station, featuring the signature watercolor! A fun cocktail menu accented the top of the bar.

Tiny tags served as escort cards, and table numbers included a oval-cut plexiglass layer for some dimension, with shimmery  gold spatter highlights. And who wouldn’t want to relax and chat in that outdoor lounge area, complete with a customized watercolor pillow?

Florals are a perfect accent to an illustration of your location or venue, and can coordinate with the flowers used on the big day.

With soft watercolor blooms in rustic arrangements, this invite set is perfectly suited to a vineyard wedding in the hills of Virginia. An impressionistic, atmospheric vineyard landscape balances the florals, and sets the scene for a summer evening celebration.

If you scroll through the details of the day below, you can see similar florals used throughout the wedding and reception. Abundant roses, peonies, and lots of greenery fill the tables. We love the pops of muted blue among more classic pinks and blushes, another detail repeated on the invitations.

As an extra personal touch, we also illustrated a simple keepsake map telling the couple’s story: where they met, got engaged, and will be married.

We love vineyard invites at Momental! There’s something about a rustic backdrop of grape vines and barns that’s just perfect for an outdoor wedding. Over the years we have illustrated other vineyards in Virginia, Tuscany, and California, to name a few.

Our bride chose pretty, soft florals for the crest, and a dainty floral pattern for the envelope liner. The elegantly simple design is accented with luxurious textures: gold foil and letterpress printing, cotton cardstock, and a velvet ribbon.

(As you will see, the sage green ribbon accent color is carried through to the day, make sure to scroll through images of the venue and decor accents below!)

For an extra personal touch, we added a soft venue illustration of Drumtochty Castle, and featured the church on the ceremony program booklet.

Classic calligraphy escort cards and menus were created for each guest. To round out the items, we also designed customized watercolor botanical table numbers with coordinating florals and leaves.

Watercolor floral crests are a beautiful stationery option that’s a great way to combine a more traditional design with personalized and colorful artwork.

It can be used throughout the invite and day-of pieces for a cohesive look.
