Oh my goodness! Sunny, I completely understand. I also carry a similar bag with me. However, mine is a “carry-on luggage” sized version, which includes my laptop and 15-inch iPad. I never know what direction my artistic and ADHD brain will be triggered by. My husband often asks, “Do you really need all of that?” To which I reply, “I could actually take more.” He shakes his head, as he puts it, our vehicle. I even carry a “huge” purse that all my friends and family affectionately call my “Mary Poppins” bag. Rarely do I not have what they need.

Norma, I like your new tangle very much! I see many possibilities for slight changes or additions that could lead to lots of fun playtime! Batik process used with Indigo dye can also be found in Nigeria. Traditional Adire uses a resist technique whereby cassava paste as used for the resist. In modern times…wax is used…as well as other colors from synthetic dyes. The patterns have meanings and communicated with others. Today, patterns are developed by contemporary artists. I have often thought these patterns very reminiscent of Zentangle patterns. I appreciated reading the background of this tangle! Thank you for sharing.

I appear to be a decade or so late on this thread.

I have all the “Yoga for your brain” cards, and one set called “Alpha tangled” filed in plastic ring, binder,notebook pockets that hold credit cards vertically, so I can see front and back quickly. There are also a couple of pages of the blank “yoga for your brain” cards as well. I keep this card notebook in my hospital ER bag so that while I’m sitting there waiting for hours upon hours, I can pull a card out and try to learn a new tangle. The cards are easier to handle than than a book. I also have a miniature lclipboard about 4 x 6 that has a rubber band around it and my box of pens behind it in my bag.

Everything else I have gathered is printed sideways, 2 pattern-step sheets per side, and double-sided, to save space.. (4 patterns total per sheet) I have a thermal printer, so I don’t have to worry about all that ink cost.
These are all in standard three ring binders.( I have a horrible fear that if this website goes away, there will be no access to the patterns in your yearly PDF, which requires coming to the site.)

When I have mastered a tangle, I write the name of it, and a small image to jog my memory, on a small piece of card stock and put it in a decorative jar. When I’m stumped for an idea, I just reach into the jar, and find something I know how to do. If I’m in an experimentation mood, I will try to learn some new ones to eventually put in my jar.

I also have a small box with a diamond art keychain kit in it. A little box with a needle felting project in it. Plus, books to read, a power bank and a brick, my Kindle, two sets of wired earbuds, a couple of puzzle books, some fidget puzzles, some chewing gum, and a little half bottle of water, because they never give you any… yes I have been known to be stuck there for over 12 hours… and I’m ADHD so I go stir crazy without things to do.
